Ferreting and a mink-ferrets-whippet

Its not everyday you come face to face with a mink !!! First day of the 21/22 season , the weather was great , the rabbits bolted and bow the beddy/whippet was on fire

From your experience ferreting, are female ferrets as likely to kill a rabbit as the males, or are they less likely due to their smaller size? I have read female ferrets are used more often for flushing, due to being less likely to kill the prey. Also, do ferrets have natural instincts to pursue rabbits, or does one need to specifically train and breed them for that?

My uncle use to ferrit and I named a ferit ninja as it would kill the rabbit under the grown and some time bring them up but once it got in a fight with a mink and kill the mink with not a wound

Good video as always 👍, I have always liked that little dog. People will moan about damaged nets, hard mouth etc, but I love them keen like her, all that matters is catching rabbits 👍

Thanks , she’s an awesome dog , a bit hard mouthed but at least I stuck with her and gave her a good life , to many dogs get tossed around from home to home because they don’t quite make the so called grade , I even saw an advert on a face book page someone want to swap a lurcher for a washing machine 😡😡😡😡😡😡
