Wow. Can I just say that, unlike other tutorial folks, you are EXTREMELY engaging and easy to watch! Not only are you articulate, your style and vibe is pleasant and relaxed. You’re my new fave - count me IN and I’m subscribing now!!
Come on Native Instruments this is 2020. Buy out/licence Knobman and incorporate it into a drag and drop scaleable GUI designer not this archaic tree directory style designer. Sorry for the rant David as you always explain things so clearly :-)
Well, thanks to your tutorials, I got my head around KSP enough to add basic EQ's, reverb and delay to my sampled guitar. I then 'found' some vintage knobs, and manipulated them onto a homemade sympathetic skin. That and discovering the nicnt file, sais guitar now sits inside my kontakt library sandwiched between Olympus elements and discovery series India! So much gratitude to you!
Thank you so much David. Concise and to the point. Having worked with true GUI designer tools for other programming environments, I too wish it was that but still, I can really see how this can speed up ones KSP scripting development for user interfaces. Glad to be a subscriber!
Thanks for the video, Dave! When you reach a point that you want to place, for example, various LFO elements (including drop-down menus for more options) in the GUI, there is still no way around coding though. And this makes Kontakt not the best choice for musicians, only for coders. I heard that UVI Falcon shall be a great alternative. Gonna check that out soon.
thanx for the demo David, besides seeying the positioning of knobs and sliders i dont find it very useful after all, tought you could skin and animate knobs and sliders from within, but you'll still have to create multiple pictures horizontally/vertical sprites to animate your controls pfff, you would still have to use knobman to produce your sliders/knobs,anyways,thanx for clariffying this program,if it stays like it is,it isnt that great to use after all,i expected more from it,have a great weekend David
Great video!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge in such a clear and easy way to understand! Would love to learn how to connect a ui_value_edit box (after adding one in Creator Tools) so that it retrieves data from a specific parameter in Kontakt? For example, if I add a knob to control an engine parameter and I'd like a value edit box underneath the knob to show the value the knob is currently at as well as the ability to edit that value in the box to a specific number and have that control the knobs position as well. Thanks again for sharing!
I learnt a HEAP about Kontakt just from looking at a handful of your videos today. I'm inspired to make some instruments before. I thought it would be a bit much until today.
Hey! U just opened my eyes, WOW! I had a problem with the image knob, I tyle the ".png" and appears like on the knob designer, with a lot of images of the knob movement. I hope you understood me. Well, idk if it's wrong how I exported the knob or how I configured inside the GUI designer. Thanks!
I had Kontakt 6 player the free version.. Now I want to buy Kontakt 6 Full..but every where I look it doesn't specifically say what instruments you get when you buy it.. So I'm in Toronto and Kontakt6 cost $519 what instruments are included apart from those instruments which are already free in Komplete start?
would you consider making a tutorial on how to make kontakt instruments with multiple outputs? I want to make a drum library i can mix like i would real drums. including different mic positions playing simultaneously.
Wonderful Video! Im just wondering if the GUI Designer could actually "READ" my existing GUI unit like knobs, sliders etc... in to the creator tools so I can edit it again? Anybody have any ideas? Ton of thanks!
Great video, very clear but it feels like 2015 to. Yes I agree, Kontakt 5 programming is totally year 2010 and this is a lot better, but come on! It's shouldn't be that hard for NI to create a decent editor?
Hopefully you worked this out, but I think the problem is you are using single quotation marks instead of double: ' instead of " So it should be: "perfview.nckp"
I've done everything you said up until this point & it's not working on init load_performance_view(perfview.nckp) end on the part where it says load_performance_view(perfview.nckp) is showing up with a red highlight
is also mentioned in the manual. The filename of the NCKP file, without extension, as a string (in quotation marks). like this one on init load_performance_view("performanceView") end on

I agree dude, like why isn’t this a thing already?
Wow. Have had Kontakt 6 since it dropped and didn't catch what this was all about til this vid. Nice one

My goodness. That you sooo much for introducing me to this. I'm no programmer, so this is a lot easier for me.
I wish every tutorial on UA-cam was this clear and precise. Thank you!
Thanks David. I'm starting from Kontakt 6 and I'm not much of a coder so I think will be my default way of doing things from the beginning 😁👍

Thanks David
I never knew it was inside the software.
Last night feeling hopeless trying to understand the aspects of it.
Today, Mighty David uploads video and now all makes sense ✌️ Thanks man 👍
Thank you for this Video !
Thanks for the video, Dave!

What an Excellent Video. Thank you for doing this....
Man! You are the best! Thank you! 😍
VERY helpful. Just starting out with creating these. Thank you!!
Thank you. Very informative.
Thank you for taking the time to explain this!
Would be nice to see your `Elegant_Knob.txt` file.
Nice Vid, I had the same issue with "Skin" graphics initially... note to self..."Don't include file extensions in the image names."
You’re a legend, bro! Thanks for these videos.

Once again such a useful video. I understand Kontakt 6 so much better having watched a number of your videos, thank you very much.
Thanks a lot, David!!! Very usefull... :o)
Thank you for this great tutorial.👌🏻 Unfortunately my GUIs are always really low in quality although the original images are very good. Any ideas?🤔
I learnt a HEAP about Kontakt just from looking at a handful of your videos today. I'm inspired to make some instruments before. I thought it would be a bit much until today.
Go for it!
Thanks for the video! Where can I download this?
Fantastic thank you so much
Hi David are there any programs you know of that I could create my own Kontakt GUI?
Thank u so much for this!

Ohhhh... this was very interesting indeed... and very geeky 😃
getting an error at the on init scrip thing that is can not load the file why?
Wonderful Video! Im just wondering if the GUI Designer could actually "READ" my existing GUI unit like knobs, sliders etc... in to the creator tools so I can edit it again? Anybody have any ideas? Ton of thanks!
Anyone who knows why my button is cascading downwards instead of stacking like it is in the video?
You are the GREAT! Thank you
I keep getting an error at load_performance_view("Perfview,nckp") when typing into the Script Editor
Is there supposed to be a comma in that file name?
@@DavidHilowitzMusic Thank you David, I got it working!

Is this usable for creating kontakt 5 instruments? Working on GUI elements for someone who wants something kompatible ;)
No, sadly. 😢
Creater tool windows download link
ROCKET science - waste of time to work with this.
HALion 6 has a graphical editor - no scripting, though you can...
on init
load_performance_view('perfview.nckp')
end on
not working. the errors are syntax and statement expected. Please help me.
Hopefully you worked this out, but I think the problem is you are using single quotation marks instead of double: ' instead of "

Add Quotation marks around the file name, i.e. "perfview.nckp"
is also mentioned in the manual. The filename of the NCKP file, without extension, as a string (in quotation marks).
like this one
on init
load_performance_view("performanceView")
end on
This isn't working
on init
load_performance_view("perfview.nckp")
end on
