  • Happy New Year!! Lately I've been experimenting with cleansing and strengthening Ayurvedic ingredients in every part of my hair care regimen. I've always sworn by SOAP NUTS, so now I've added a bit more to spice up my cleansing recipe to make it easier to use and more accessible. Ingredients below:
    1/4 block of Soap base of your choice (mine was Aloe)
    1/4 block of Soap base of your choice (mine was Shea)
    1 bar of African black soap
    1-2 TBS of Soap nut powder
    1-2 TBS of Amla powder
    1-2 TBS of Hibiscus powder
    1-2 TBS of Fenugreek powder
    Essential oils of your choice 10-20 drops
    Oil (optional) If you feel like your hair is stripped, add oil. Mine was perfectly fine! More moisturized than normal.
    Enjoy!

    Soap bases have high pH and can damage your hair. Use a Syndopour base instead as it has a neutral pH

    Hey Stephanie... I have been looking for a Ayurvedic Shampoo Bar recipe that actually gets hard and not soften up under water. I will give these a try next month after I get all the ingredients and get back home from my daughters house. Looking forward to making them...stay tuned!!😜

My hair loved it, but it was quite oil/butter heavy. Now my leave in is just aloe Vera juice and water and I seal with an oil mix. I keep things very simple.

      Hi there! If you use a liquid black soap that contains water it will affect the soaps ability to harden like regular soap, it would need to be kept frozen and put in the fridge to preserve it. Hope that helps!

      @@keyamoore8031 hm trying to visualise what you mean, if I’m assuming correctly that should be fine, if either start to harden you can always heat them up again to keep them melted so both mix nicely together before you place in the mould. Hope that helps!

    Thank you for sharing this recipe. Is African Black soap appropriate to use on Caucasian hair? I just made some shampoo bars with this ingredient for some of my customers who have asked for it, but I'd love to be able to test it out on my hair before selling it to the public. Thank you =)

    • @WearingHerCrown
      @WearingHerCrown  10 місяців тому +2

      Absolutely, but it can be a little drying as it might strip your hair but if you tend to have oily hair then it won’t be an issue. Rinse thoroughly!

    Hello,
    when you say a bar of African black soap is that 1 pound worth? The black soap that I buy comes in 1 pound increments. Also do you still use the bar soap if so do you still like it is there anything that you don't like about it? Thank you😊

    • @WearingHerCrown
      @WearingHerCrown  Рік тому +2

      Hi there, the bar I use is apprx 1.4lb in weight so that should be fine. I do still use the soaps, my husband loves them they clean my scalp and skin nicely. Looking forward to making another batch 😌 the only thing I don’t like is with any other soap the way is disintegrates after using over time but if you have a soap dish to keep it covered after use it is fine.

    • @naketastanley1732
      @naketastanley1732 Рік тому

      Do you still think that it works fine without any oils added? Overtime have you found it to be stripping for the hair , really moisturizing or in between. Thank you.

    • @WearingHerCrown
      @WearingHerCrown  Рік тому

      @@naketastanley1732 it doesn’t strip but it does feel clean I think the added oils do help in that regard but I would follow up with a very moisturising conditioner I would rinse out consisting of melted Shea butter, coconut milk, a few oils on hand, coconut oil if it works for you. This would coat each of my strands beautifully and I didn’t need to add anything else after rinsing that out. If you go to my community tab I have pictures I took over the course of time from using these exact recipes.

    Can African black soap be used in place of melt and pour soap bases since it's already a soap?

    • @WearingHerCrown
      @WearingHerCrown  2 роки тому +2

      It can, but you will run into the trouble in getting it to melt and stay melted. That makes it difficult to add your powders and re-mould. A melt and pour will give you the consistency you need to mix in your herbs.
