I'm doing my course now and u don't drop your mask as u may need this if its choppy seas put the mask on your arm . Removing your own bcd is only required if your near shallow water so its easier to get out the water with the other diver

Que tengo que hacer si el buceador lleva puesta una capucha?

1:55 why would I take off my own BCD? That doesn't sound like a good idea, i'd rather keep it to stay afloat without effort and keep giving rescue breaths.

when you are not standing on the bottom of a pool, you must kick up with your fins to elevate your body as you give rescue breaths, so that you are not pushing the victims head under water. This task is easier on you without your BCD, also you want to remove your BCD for getting the victim out of the water.

I think that's a bad idea to leave my own mask and bcd even if the boot or coast is far away especially if the waves are higher

This is for the IE, but in reality there are certainly many times you wouldn't want to remove your own BCD. In my experience with boat diving the boat is never far enough away to justify it.

Thank you, this demo is clear and demonstrative.
But is it me, or is the rescuer a bit slow about puting her hand under the victim's head in the phase before controlling breath, even sometimes not handling the victim at all?

Thanks +Frederic Gilbert, that's good to hear! We generally teach to start supporting the head after buoyancy has been established and the mask and regulator have been removed so that this can be done fast and efficiently. For the rest of the demo, the rescuer's hand is permanently under the head.

      Wow that's fast answer :)
I remember my DM instructor yelling at me "your hand!" in the fist half second of the exercise, as if the standards or security made a priority of it.
"there is always more than one way to demonstrate a skill" :)
      Thank you again.

She is not even doing anything approximating a Rescue Breath. Hardly ever opens the airway. I know you can't do a rescue breath for real in training but at least get your body in position. Do more than give her a friendly kiss!
I do enjoy the other videos and I know many people watch these however this video, although excellent in many ways, is giving a false impression of rescue breathing.

those who get a false impression by this i do not want to dive with.
either they are too young or too stupid. but i doubt it's many, at least i hope it's not.
