Every year, I take a 15 hour overnight train ride to see my grandparents. The train is lovely, probably my favorite way to travel, but I always make a point to replay at least the beginning of Diabolical Box through the Molentary express because it just feels right:)

Okay I love the music evolution but does anyone miss the heavy accordion in the newer games? I love all soundtracks I just miss that good ol professor Layton hard accordion sometimes

The old Layton music felt more nostalgic as your were listening to it, maybe it was because all the songs had at least one instrument that was in another song. Sometimes the songs in today’s Layton games feel so disconnected from one another.
I agree... in the older games all the songs felt connected and stuck with the theme. The newer games tried to modernise it too much where it kinda lost that layton spark
It's something about the prequels in general, they're missing that very particular charme the original trilogy had. Not only the music, but the art, the environments, the plot. Don't getvme wrong, they're great games, and I love them, but they went in very different direction since/after Last Spectre. The whole ancient civilization thing didn't do the series too much good. A bit of an overused aesthetic, while the old games had this quirky, steampunky, antique style.

The first part was amazing, and this is even better! All these memories flooding back from the games, makes me so happy. Professor Layton really needs a lot more credit, not many teens and young adults nowadays really know about this great game. It's something that should be experienced via playing.

My favorite game is probably the Azran Legacy, because it was my first Layton game. xD I just loved it. I played it almost all day when I first bought it. Which is your favorite? :) Okay wow, your friend is an extremely talented artist!! :O That's so cool! ^__^
Omg I love the Azran Legacy so much, it had quite a bit of just moving around and stuff, but I still thought it was amazing. The ending was super upsetting to me, too. :( Out of all of the games in the series I would say that The Miracle Mask is my favourite, I loved the idea behind all of the seemingly impossible miracles coming to life like people turning to stone and vanishing into thin air and stuff. It just made for an awesome mystery element in general! :) What did you think of Miracle Mask? ^-^
Suggestion for next time: put all puzzle themes together. I personally like Casting Magic (Spell Breaker) from PLvsPW, although its arguable its an Ace Attorney music (but it's epic)

ugh... The Diabolical Box's "Folsense" just goes so hard... that song always gave me a feeling of a despair-tinged nostalgia that is so beautiful and yet so heart-wrenching. And to add to it being a part of my own childhood brings out the personal reminiscence. Who knew that a song from a video game could make me feel so strongly?
I absolutely loved both of these playlists! They were full of some of the best songs Professor Layton has to offer, and there is certainly no shortage of those! I was particularly pleased by the inclusion of the Scorpion casino theme, as it was definitely one of the standout themes that I would not expect to particularly notice, but that was really enjoyable. Thank you for your hard work in putting together these vidoes!
Honestly, I am on a bit of a Layton binge right now lol. While I have seen someone else play the games, I personally myself did play the Diabolical Box. Truly a masterpiece in its art form. So well put together and it reminds me of my childhood.

Level 5's games have a certain essence to them no other developer can grasp. The creator of these games, Hino, makes intricate characters, stories and develops even beyond that. The gameplay is unique, the music is astounding, and the story is always top notch. I'm disappointed with Inazuma Eleven Ares and Orion, but besides that I've only seen masterpieces coming from this company. They are so much more than any mainstream Nintendo game developer. They deserve more love than all those. Inazuma Eleven, Fantasy Life, and Layton. Those are true masterpieces. Yokai Watch had its fame and that makes me so happy, even if the games were directed at a younger audience. You can't deny the epicness of Level 5's main franchises, and even their less popular ones. Layton's soundtrack is above all other games I've played.
I'm actually thankful because of you accidentally using SilvaGunner' version of Froenborg, since the original video got taken down 😢 but yeah cool compilation. love to come back and listen again after a while

Froenborg is Careless Whispers, The Flinstones theme, a track from Ace Attorney, and Goodbye to a World by Porter Robinson all in a Layton-esque style. Somehow, it works. "The Toy Train" also contains a small sample of "A Quiet Town" from Unwound Future.

@@sillycat103 I don't think that's the actual problem, I don't care about who the protagonist is, as long as the game is solid. My problem with Katrielle's game is that it's incredibly aimed at children, way more than the original series, and also the misteries were not that great and not extraordinary

Wonderful choices to add on to the first part! The Professor Layton series' music is spectacular, and brings back a lot of nostalgia for me. Though, may I make some suggestions? If you ever plan to make another best of for this series, I'd recommend: "Golden Garden" from Last Specter, "Curtain of Night" from Curious Village, and "Picture Book" from Unwound Future.

Omg I love the Azran Legacy so much, it had quite a bit of just moving around and stuff, but I still thought it was amazing. The ending was super upsetting to me, too. :(
Out of all of the games in the series I would say that The Miracle Mask is my favourite, I loved the idea behind all of the seemingly impossible miracles coming to life like people turning to stone and vanishing into thin air and stuff. It just made for an awesome mystery element in general! :) What did you think of Miracle Mask? ^-^
You know a game has an awesome soundtrack when the second or the third part of a recopilatory music video has as many masterpieces as this has.
The Folsense theme is incredible! Ive never listened to it longer than 2 minutes, but in the end it goes so ham wtf

ugh... The Diabolical Box's "Folsense" just goes so hard... that song always gave me a feeling of a despair-tinged nostalgia that is so beautiful and yet so heart-wrenching. And to add to it being a part of my own childhood brings out the personal reminiscence. Who knew that a song from a video game could make me feel so strongly?

I absolutely loved both of these playlists! They were full of some of the best songs Professor Layton has to offer, and there is certainly no shortage of those! I was particularly pleased by the inclusion of the Scorpion casino theme, as it was definitely one of the standout themes that I would not expect to particularly notice, but that was really enjoyable. Thank you for your hard work in putting together these vidoes!
Honestly, I am on a bit of a Layton binge right now lol. While I have seen someone else play the games, I personally myself did play the Diabolical Box. Truly a masterpiece in its art form. So well put together and it reminds me of my childhood.

Level 5's games have a certain essence to them no other developer can grasp. The creator of these games, Hino, makes intricate characters, stories and develops even beyond that. The gameplay is unique, the music is astounding, and the story is always top notch. I'm disappointed with Inazuma Eleven Ares and Orion, but besides that I've only seen masterpieces coming from this company. They are so much more than any mainstream Nintendo game developer. They deserve more love than all those. Inazuma Eleven, Fantasy Life, and Layton. Those are true masterpieces. Yokai Watch had its fame and that makes me so happy, even if the games were directed at a younger audience. You can't deny the epicness of Level 5's main franchises, and even their less popular ones. Layton's soundtrack is above all other games I've played.

@@sillycat103 I don't think that's the actual problem, I don't care about who the protagonist is, as long as the game is solid. My problem with Katrielle's game is that it's incredibly aimed at children, way more than the original series, and also the misteries were not that great and not extraordinary

Wonderful choices to add on to the first part! The Professor Layton series' music is spectacular, and brings back a lot of nostalgia for me. Though, may I make some suggestions? If you ever plan to make another best of for this series, I'd recommend: "Golden Garden" from Last Specter, "Curtain of Night" from Curious Village, and "Picture Book" from Unwound Future.
