Oh my gosh! Beckham is doing so well! I'm not surprised at all. Because everyone is so hands on with him. With what he's learning at school 🏫 and you also work with him as well. Yes, I would emphasise that Beckham is non verbal AT THE MOMENT but...
Car is a great word to use, every time you see one with Beckham, or go in the car with him, you can use it. And, yes make sure you have a car around when you use the word, even a clear photo
He is pre-verbal already. I know he is still technically non-verbal, but probably close to verbal.

Hi - my name is Susan- I am concerned about the horizontal railing on your staircase. I think it is dangerous. Blakey could climb up on it . If you can’t replace them at this time, maybe you can cover them with a wire mesh so she cannot climb on it. This is being sent with love and not meant as a criticism.

My daughter also has CP. When she has spasms in her legs I was told to take a couple of towels and run them in the dryer to warm them up then wrap her legs. It worked for me. Just a suggestion. Unfortunately my daughter had a seizure from the botox. Great job Beckham!!!
We use a "novafon" (vibration thing). Hope IT cam be usefull for someone! All the best from germany!

I know exactly how you feel we have little girl with SATB2 she's almost 3 and has only few words. So every milestone is a huge huge deal. You guys are amazing parents. I know how hard and how much work it is. You guys are literally amazing. And seeing him laugh so hard is just too cute. How do you have a clean house I can't seem to keep up we do have 3 under 4

I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I wonder if different massagers could help Beckham when his legs start to get tight but it's not time for Botox yet. I have a few Hyperice massagers (one is specifically designed for the thigh/hamstrings) and I was just curious if that was something y'all had looked into getting as kind of a way to help relieve some of the muscle tightness on the bad days (in the short term, obviously) when the Botox starts wearing off.

My austic son was non verbal till he was around Beckham's age. He was in a special needs preschool where they did speech and ot therapy with him. He would go to a Christian daycare after. In speech he had been mimicking sounds and some words. I remember getting a call from the daycare provider that Ben said a three word sentence. She really didn't sound that thrilled and I wonder why until she told me his sentence was "What the fuck". I started getting so excited and was so happy. The daycare provider was happy that he said it but wasn't happy that was his first sentence. He regressed a little till he was 6 for some reason only saying one or 2 words again. I thought him sign language in the mean time because he wasn't progressing in speech. When he was around 6 or 7 years old and had probably one of the best speech therapist and he started doing awesome in speech again. His dad and I were so happy. He just started talking one day in speech therapy, using 1 to 2 word sentences. His speech therapist was in shock. She asked him why he just started talking,. His response was "mom taught me to talk with hands" So why I talk with my mouth". My jaw dropped when I got that call. That minute I stopped using sign language with him and at 14 he talks my ear off. He does have a speech impediment but he can now usually spell the word if we don't understand. I just wanted to share my story. I know Beckham will talk soon. I am so happy for him.

I'm jealous. I wld love to have Beckham as my son. He is truly amazing. He came into this world in such a traumatic way and fought the battle he had to fight to live. That's shows how strong he is. It won't be long before he say mama God he is so cute.

I think this is so exciting for him, we don't need to see it to believe it. I think getting a car for him would be a great idea! It will be interesting to see if he starts saying it at times he sees or is going in the car. I have noticed Blakley does and that seems to help Beckham with a lot of things!
I can understand you wanting him to say mama or mom so badly because it is typically the next word most kids do say after dada. But, while Beckham is developmentally younger in many ways, being actually older plays into it which is something that is sadly misunderstood by many.

So I heard somewhere that the reason kids say dada before mama typically is because they see you as an extension of themselves. So I hope that gives you the same comfort it gave me! 😂
And yeah you know Rachel the the lengths that she went to explaining how how it happened him saying car she explained it and so now you know how she did it so you can you know do it the same way she did it with other words.
