I started 2024 with my mum. Never did I think I’d end it without her. Not all of our family or friends made it to 2025. Never take for granted the people that you love. Life is short. Be thankful for today because in one moment your entire life could change and you won’t ever be the same again.

2024 Did what I have done for the last 7 years look after my housebound Mom 94 years old!!!!.also has cancer Full time carer!!!! Its hard work but we only get one Mom. I don't complain and I'm a pensioner!!!
That caregiver stuff is a bit of a conundrum, as far as what to do…. I know someone who’s put his life on hold for 25 years. Their mom got cancer and said you need to move home close to me. They did 25 years ago and constantly talk about what a mistake it was and how they hate it there. The last 7 years she’s required almost daily visits, now daily. She really needs to be in a home but they won’t do it. They are in their 60s and she’s in 80s. Point is… it’s a real case by case situation, and can be very difficult. I feel for you. Try to find some time to carve out some happiness and life for you, however you can.

If you are looking to do Philippines, I STRONGLY recommend Boracay! That place is brilliant! Didn't much care for Philippines (although, the countryside is fantastic), but Boracay was divine. Vietnam was a blast. Cheap, great food, great countryside. Would definitely go back. Cambodia was okay, but I probably wouldn't go back. Hope you have a great 2025, DJ - and all viewers.
Happy New Year to you Darren, my word what a change in you since you got to Thailand, you look positively glowing, happy and content, nice one fella.2024 had been a tough one for me and my family.been waiting best part if 4 years to have both of my hips replaced and my mobilty has gotten worse as the year has gone on. Had to reduce the hours i worked to just 4 hours a day as the pain was too much and could only walk with elbow crutches. But! Had my first hip replaced 4 weeks ago and getting the second one done early next year and i can tell already its going to change my life. Already im in half the pain i was in so once im fully fit i think i might put mu business up for sale after 30 years and kick back and retire. Who knows, might come out to Thailand for a beer with you lol! Thanks for keeping me sane this last tear!👍👏👏🏴♥️

This time last year I’d just started 2 months of cancer diagnosis ,, followed up later in the year with 2 months in oncology every day ,, everything was fine then my body locked solid into PMR which now 3 months on has finally subsided and I’m more or less back to normal ,, tickets booked to Thailand end of February for a month. Glad to see the back of 2024 ,, let’s have a new start and healthy new 2025 🎉
