Finally finished this, on my first attempt!!, it was difficult to get the details, should have used bigger paper, mine was 30x30cm, but I'm still very pleased with the way it turned out. Great Tutorial!!
@@miguelanderson5185 you can find it on origamishop.com, and if you live in America you can visit origamishopusa.com it's super safe so you don't have to worry
@tadashimori well what really impressed me about your channel is the fact that you show people how to make projects like the origami fiery dragon, the leviathan, This here scorpion, and that Frog. Usually projects like these seem to be kept secret to your average folder like myself and usually for the public to look at and enjoy. It's kind of like a magician revealing some of the biggest tricks in magic
Thank you for the awesome tutorial! Each step was clearly shown, and your instructions were clear. I used regular printer paper, and although my result was no where near your scorpion, it did look like a scorpion which is really cool. I'd like to add, this is my first origami project ever, so I'm pleased it turned out like anything! A couple of times I thought I had lost my entire project due to getting confused with the folds, but after re-watching the step a few more times I figured it out.
@MrCraigtkd1 You make the tissue foil, it's an tissue paper glued in an aluminum foil with spray glue. It's really hard to find it, so it's better to make it yourself.
@Bigboss86100 Its just the paper and how carefully I make the details. But also, you can use wrt folding with CMC glue to make the paper holds its shape.
some oftadashimoris models are simple especially if you consider the amount of detail u get (which is great) but the only problem is he uses alot of pleating which makes the model really thick a difficult to deal with ,but i still think hes a great creater.
4 hours later.. I'm finished!!! I've created... a prawn... damn it!! Next time I won't use 80gms A4 paper. Really good tutorial btw, really easy to follow, quite a simple model actually (brilliant), just takes forever to make :)
tadashi mori... i find your tutorials 2 be the best out of the tutorials i watch because u show exactly where we make the folds thnx 4 your tutorials! :)
+The Ophidian and for his next trick: Hey guys, today I have cured cancer using this design. It is a fairly difficult design so you need to be experienced. Also, it is recommended to use a 30 by 30 tissue foil paper
Thank you! Great tutorial. I almost made it with the first try. Had to stop at the point where you fold the claws to the front and pull out the legs because the paper i use for test folding is too thick for this model. It's actually not that difficult if you follow the instructions patiently. Next time i'll make it!
@fabricofspacetime Well, Double Tissue might work cuz it's a very thin paper. But the model wont be rigid in the end so you can use a colourless nail enamel or a base to make it stronger. I used it in the scorpion in my video.
@quichichian nope, not yet, The problem is that it wasn't possible to make the details in this paper. I need to prepare the paper in order to make the details video. I'm working on it.
Youve been making vids for a while now and your video quality has definantly increased. Id love to see a reboot of some of your older videos cause you have gotten better and i think u could make these old videos even better
The crease pattern page does not work- I get redirected to a site to some "find results" site that pops up whenever the current site is either dead or blank.
@origamimaster2002 you actually don't need origami paper to make origami. Just take any paper, thinner usually works better, and make a square by folding two equilateral triangles.
Awesome original scorpion model. I really like this model probably because I'm a Scorpio and its easy the origami violinist is very similar. I just thought like pointing that out. I remembered the steps really quickly I just hope that I would school material fast as origami. I hope to see more very cool videos in the future. Piece of advice to kids in school. if your on the right track you can still get ran over if just sit there. That means pay attention, participate, sit listen, no goofin
@555aboud I know it´s boring to watch these parts when you understand the explanation, but the problem is that sometimes the person watching cant undesrtand and they got to watch the whole process. I got a lot of complains about this on other videos....
@superjam18 Thanks for the compliments =) well, to be honest, I do this as a hobbie, thats y sometimes I don't upload anything. But it's not that I don't earn anything from it. As I'm a youtube partner, Google pays me for the views I get. Also, I'm planning to use my channel to other things later.
You don't have to draw it you just have to crease where he tells you to. Also the side you start with up with be the colour of the final model (meaning if you start with the colour side up the final model with be coloured).
Nice model. It was very nicely implemented and the extremely thin legs look just marvelous! And it wasn't very structurally complicated either. Just a bunch of box pleated sinking and a couple of Elias stretches. To me, it was very straightforward, as super-complex models go. Also, it wasn't hard to find the refs either. Overall, I think this is a great model, and the possibilities for detailing are endless. Keep folding!
i used normal 21x21 (A4 size) printer paper, and it looked epic. Not as good as tissue foil, but still works! ...and thumbs up if you also made it with printer paper...
Mr. Tadashimori I just want to say how generous you are to just show peoplehow do fold these extremly complicated projects on youtube for basically no price at all ( as far as I know ) Im shocked that you even decided to share your very own scorpion with us. I just want to know why do you do it?
hi tadashi i made your scorpion, this is my third attempt. i thought it was really challenging but worth it. thanks for the video next is the salt creek tiger beetle by Robert j Lang. PS im not sure how to send the photo link.
@ShadowSpiritSean divide it into 3x3 first, then divide each part again, making a 9x9 grid. then divide that into 36x36 by dividing each part into 4x4 grids. if you don't get it, reply, and ill try to make a video as quick as i can.
Hi there! I think your scorpion is the best one I've ever seen. It's AWESOME! I made two. The first one sucks :/ But the second one is almost as good as yours :D You are the best! Not only you show the steps, but you explain them. Thanks for sharing your model! Hugs! ...I'm sorry about my english, I'm from Argentina and I'm 14 years old, still learning :D
well i made a version of your scorpion, i wet folded it from a sheet of origamido treated with mc, looks quite nice, and i love this model, i wanna fold it again, may i do two scorpions fighting?
Awesome!!! Thank you very much for the tutorial, they look great steps to do, very good!!! You could also do with shiny paper, or would be too fragile?
@brisolar hehe, valew =) Não ensinei não, o outro video que eu fiz foi ensinando como fiz para pensar no origami. Só pra ajudar as pessoas a começarem a criar seus próprios modelos.

This is probably the best origami tutorial I've seen for a semi complex model. I'm definitely going to attempt it.

the finished scorpion has way more segmentation than the example he makes. doesn't look like the same one to me.
u mountain fold the excess flaps and glue all thhe layers.
You have to shape all those to make it more realistic
@Bigboss86100 Its just the paper and how carefully I make the details.

this video demonstrates box-pleats and elias stretches effectively, now I understand both techniques properly. Thanks!

Can't believe you created that model
@origamimaster2002 you actually don't need origami paper to make origami. Just take any paper, thinner usually works better, and make a square by folding two equilateral triangles.

This is probably too late, but there is a tutorial for the salt creek tiger beetle on "Origami Sage"'s channel.
Your English is getting better.
do you use a kind of glue on the model when it's finished, or it's just the paper that allows you to have a model so realistic?
Which origami models do you think you need to master and/or practice before making this origami model?
Please answer
* sees video *
Hah ! EZ !
*you need large tissue paper*
*ARGH !*
@nakawak Sirgo paper? Não conhecia esse papel, obrigado pela dica!
tadashi mori, your english is getting better and better!
Good job man :)
japanese people are genius and amazing !!
For making the best details tissue foil is best (tissue paper glued to aluminium foil or tin foil).
@Inu1907 Hahaha, you´re right, I didn´t notice this while making the video.
@loy7loy7 The details? there´s a link on the video description already.
at 15:20, wouldn't it be wiser to fold on the valley fold in the middle of the 4 squares, so you won't have to thin down the layer after?

Very giid. I love the tutorial here. Give artistic freedom at the end.
Excellant design
Does double tissue MC work well with this model too? I am afraid to use tissue foil because I would make it all wrinkly.
Which side do you draw or write the crease pattern on, the white or colored side?
well i made a version of your scorpion, i wet folded it from a sheet of origamido treated with mc, looks quite nice, and i love this model, i wanna fold it again, may i do two scorpions fighting?

@tadashimori what paper is you using in the video? and what size is the paper?
This is fun to make with all the sinks, reverses, but the best part are the sinks.
So lucidly explained.
Awesome!!! Thank you very much for the tutorial, they look great steps to do, very good!!! You could also do with shiny paper, or would be too fragile?
merci pour vos vidéo pas à pas, même si je n ai pas le niveau pour certains de vos origamis votre travail est magnifique et j adore regarder!
I like this a lot but u forgot to mention that the color side should be UP!! I did it down like I thought u had it so now it's white not gold
holy crap! I was actually able to make it. Its probably because ive been doing origami for 2 years.
Yeah now THATS the dificutey level that I like
Keep it up
can you give examples of where you can buy these tissue foils in the US, the ones i find are only 6 x 6.
Hi Tadashi. Where can I find the tutorial of your spider? Thanks
um i have a question when you divide the paper to 24 segments do they have to be very accurate cuz i find it hard doing it with a big piece of paper
I think there is an easyer way to do this...
But I don't know which!
Anyway, good work man, hope to reach your level
how do u make all those creases and why does your scorpion look so hard, like solid hard?
Wow, im a beginner and i succeeded. And when is the draw for the ancient dragon origami giveaway????

ok

Hello Tada! Firstly i must say you are a really awesome tutorialmaker. Second thing is a question, is this origami harder than the fiery dragon?
Well executed, outstanding and amazing.
on the details how do i get rid of that square with the triangular flaps sticking out???
jonakashima vs tadashimori vs sara adams, who would win????
Could you make a details video like you did on the dragon and the leviathan??

You are right! I tried it and it flew quite good actually :D
Very nice model, making it again since on my second attempt I was not so happy with the result of my legs.
this model is so realistic i love this i have to fold this soon
can i glue newspaper with aluminium foil for a large thin foil paper?
I think your scorpion cp beats all other origami versions in terms of simplicity :)
@tadashimori how would you pre crease a 36 x 36 grid?
Please respond soon
to divide the paper into thirds you did not need to pinch the half you can crease it then the origami takes less time
