✔️ Adds more AF frame rates during Slow & Quick Motion
✔️ Adds support for Flexible ISO and Cine EI Quick in shooting mode:
✔️ Allows you to record S-Log3 content with exposure settings by adjusting the ISO sensitivity
✔️ Allows you to record at a base ISO setting the same as Cine EI, with the base ISO adjusted automatically in conjunction with EI value

Did the full format in slot B. I tried a CF Express card as well as a SDXC card (both in slot B). Tried saving in the Root Directory like sony says, and tried saving in every possible way (with both cards). Nothing works. 'Version Up is grey and says "Cannot Proceed" ???????

Firmware Ver. 5.00 Temporarily Suspended
After investigation, Sony has confirmed an issue with ILME-FX6 System Software Ver. 5.00, which was released on May 28, 2024 (JST). After updating to Ver. 5.00 ,if you turn ON the power with the INPUT2 (audio input 2) switch set to LINE, the audio from CH2 may become unintended level.
Due to this issue, we have suspended the download of ILME-FX6 System Software Ver. 5.00. We apologise for the inconvenience and will rectify the situation by releasing a corrected version as soon as possible.
I Love my Sony FX6 for about over 2 years 😅 it is not all perfect, but where is the perfect cam? 😂

Hi. Following your instructions I couldn't upgrade my camera, then I realized the file .dat should be put outside the "private" folder containing "Sony" and "XDROOT" folders, not inside as you showed.
Yes! I showed on the outside but I did call it the "root folder" that's Sony's verbage and it confused me as well I did the same thing the first time.
It also says this on Sonys homepage, I just followed their instructions and have just updated my camera with no issues
When they refer to "root" folder, it means the main directory of the Sony FX6 directory. So the verbiage is correct!

Would you happen to have any insight as to why my Version Up option is disabled?
You could check a few things , make sure that your card is in slot B and make sure that the file is in the root of the folder, not the "root folder"
I'm not sure if you have to, but it does tell you to plug in the AC power while doing this.

It's Great update but the new features are specific. Check the list of new features added in the description of the video if none of that appeals to you, you'll be fine!

i am from Fw 2.0 can I go straight to FW 4 ? Or I have to update to Fw 3 first?

Yes you should be able to update straight into the latest firmware.
done your steps, when I goto Version UP I get - Cannot Proceed
By chance, you might have the same issue that I did. I had a previously downloaded firmware update in my "downloads" folder from months ago, so the new V4.0 update I downloaded had a duplicate file name like "BODYDATA (1).DAT"
The firmware update file name has to be labeled exactly "BODYDATA.DAT" for it to be seen by the FX6. Just wanted to chime in in case that was the issue for you as well.

Well if it is greyed out, make sure the the camera is plugged into wall power, check to make sure the file is unzipped and in the base folder of the SD card. Also make sure the SD card your trying to update from is in slot B NOT slot A.

3 moved the file to root memory card
4 currently on 3.00 and once card is in slot B power cord 🔌 plugged in all accessories off the camera. I goto version up and it's saying cannot proceed.

Don’t do it!!!!
If anyone struggles to update or gets the 'cannot proceed' message, change your safari or other browser preferences to 'ask each time' when downloading, and download directly to the SD card. For some reason, anytime my update went to downloads it wouldn't work. Don't ask why, but this solved an hour of head scratching.
i tried your trick and it still did not work.
This worked for me and gave me the option to version up in camera. Completely reformat the card in the cameras B slot, insert card into computer, download directly to the card, and make sure the file is exactly named "BODYDATA.DAT" and has no dashes or numbers, and then back into the cams B slot. I'm now hesitant to go forward with the update though after reading all the issues people are now having after updating. @@ibopwebop

Thanks! I was actually putting the firmware inside the XDRoot folder, and of course was unsuccessful. :)
