Absolutely phenomenal man. I can’t believe how clearly you explained all of this. Your channel is easily the best slide resource in UA-cam and I’ll be back to learn tons more of these tunes.
I have been working on this song along with your video for the past 4 hours on a Friday night. I hope my wife understands my obsession! :) I have the Gretsch 9420 and just loving the sound. Thanks so much for your videos.
Hi. I tuned in because I saw your Gretsch - I have their Alligator model. I stayed for the lesson, which was great, thanks! Subbed. Cheers from Spain.✌️
@@williammartin9687 I have the tab to this somewhere! I have a book out called Slide Guitar: A Primer available as an ebook on Amazon and other places as well if you’re interested!
I love that guitar, it's cheap also, I'm really thinking about getting one, I just got a Black Mountain slide ring for Christmas too. Is that your actual last name?
Really like the lesson! Question- do you prefer the strap to the headstock more than to the neck heel? I've been playing a long time, but have just last week gotten my first resonator.
I don't have a credit card so it seems smarter to get the cheaper one and than later, with another group of paychecks, get it modded. There is a guy on You Tube who mods Jim Dandy's named Jeff Galey, I suggest checking him out
It was hard for me to learn that skill as well but if I can do it, you can do it!!! If you’re interested I have a book available on most online booksellers called Slide Guitar: A Primer!
@@LittleJoeBourgeois Thanks for the recommendation! I have been at it for some more hours and I am getting closer and closer. Just gotta keep at it! Amazing tutorial btw. It's super clear and easy to follow. Thanks a lot!

This is so way over my head as a beginner, but I love it.
Thank you and that's great!!!
Killer lesson. Just subscribed
Thanks so much!!!
I knew this song was dope, but with it broken down like this, I appreciate it better. So cool.
I'm so glad you got something from the lesson!
So glad this popped up on my yt feed. That's an amazing lesson! saved it and subbed. Thank you!
Thanks!!! I'm so happy you liked the lesson!!!
Thanks! That was a really well done lesson.
Thank you!!!
It's that steady thumb thumping rhythm that's tricky...and can't quite tell if your hitting one string or more...the bass thumb thing
@@vajraloka1 I usually hit one or two strings when I do that
Nice one 👍
Thank you!!!
Great video Joseph, I'm working on it!! :)
Man you're an awesome teacher! You do a realy good job at articulating what you're doing in the way of technique.
You're students are very lucky sir.
Thank you sir!!!
thanks man , it doesn't get any concise than this

nice one pal

I'm not sure if this is the right way to make a request, but I'd like to learn Kokomo blues. Fred McDowel, or Bonney Rait.
Really like the lesson! Question- do you prefer the strap to the headstock more than to the neck heel? I've been playing a long time, but have just last week gotten my first resonator.
Thank you!!! I don't really have a preference but at this point I'm more use to the headstock.
hey. Is there a reason to prefer the gretsch boxcar over the alligator, with the biscuit thingie ?
I think it’s all up to the personal preference of the player

I have tried this for 4 hours, but my brain just wont let me keep the bass string going while doing something else with another finger :(
