How do you deal with fire worms? I’ve always left bristles to their own devices in my tank but recently I’ve had a bit of an outbreak of fire worms thatve killed all my starfish and snails and I can’t find any reef/invert/crustacean safe ways of getting rid of them other than manual removal It just seems like everything that eats them also picks on snails and starfish
Remove the rock if possible and scrub it in a separate basin when doing a water change. If you can’t remove the rock, use a toothbrush whilst holding a hose as close as possible to suck it up when doing a water change. The trick is to not let it spread
I can vouch for your Berghia, they eradicated all of mine. F aptasia works good but is hard to use around other corals and I suck using it as they kept having babies 😅
It’s extremely easy to manage Aiptasia by not putting them in your tank in the first place. Unfortunately that can only be achieved by starting with dry rock, but I’m on year 8 now of zero Aiptasia. Ive taken coral from other systems with Aiptasia. It’s very easy to remove the Aiptasia before adding it to your system. Sometimes that means removing it from the frag plug or piece of rock it’s attached. I wouldn’t add any live rock from another system, but can be done with QTN and vigorous monitoring for at least 2 months before allowing it near your system. Sorry but whenever people say “they come from nowhere”, it’s pure nonsense. Don’t put them in and you will never have this problem.
not berghias but certainly with others. I've always gone peppermint shrimp only though. without starving them because they van go your zoas if you starve them
It’s totally not inevitable if you start with dry rock and follow a simple inspection when adding new coral. 8 years Aiptasia free now and it’s not luck. It really is as simple as not adding them to your tank.

Like the new format March, I'm actually enjoying the channel again ❤
You missed the Australian Stripey fish for SPS only tanks, they mow down Aiptasia like it's candy!!!
isn’t aptasia x just calcium hydroxide? how’d an aptasia end up in the new tank? i usually see mine after a year of it established
How would you deal with bubble algae if you don't want to get an Emerald crab?

That was an expensive snack for that aiptasia. An aiptasia will absolutely consume a berghia.
Both berghia were later found but the aiptasia gone

I blame the store for giving the personal tank aptasia I would take it up with the owner 😅 lol
Aaah the herpes of the reef aquarium hobby! It’s inevitable 😂
