Mixing pot of cultures is a good thing. But do you consider it mixing when you steal from another culture while disparaging it? You must have heard about the incident where the agency of the X-POP singer I mentioned criticized Korea and K-pop, right?
Let's take an example, shall we? There's a foreign singer who, while active in France, collaborates with French chanson experts for songwriting and undergoes vocal training. However, her goal is to gain global popularity, so she only sings in English and describes her music as having an American vibe. She even claims that French chanson isn't particularly respectable music and that there are no revered singers in that genre. How would you feel as a French person?

Hello! We had so many comments about the Kpop random dance in event for Japan. We can understand the confusion because in France, in Europe,.. When the organizer prepare an event about the culture from Korea, from Japan, from Asia globally it’s a mix of theirs cultures so you can see many things about Japan in Korea’s event and conversely. We are so sorry about this confusion and we gonna be more careful in the future!🌟

If you really hate Japan, tell that to all the Korean companies who made Japanese versions of their songs. Such as TVXQ BIGBANG 2NE1 Sonyeosidae SHINee 4MINUTE KARA Apink T-ara Girl's Day AFTER SCHOOL SUPERNOVA UKISS Stray Kids SS501 B1A4 B.A.P Produce 48 CLC D.Holic CRAYON POP AOA Yeojachingu EXID BLACKPINK TWICE Red Velvet (G)I-DLE ITZY...
I see a lot of "Japanese ver." there yet not a single "Portuguese ver., German ver..." Out of 194 foreign countries, Korea chose the single one country they hate to make songs for. Wow.
If you draw a venn diagram between Kpop fans and Anime fans, the diagram often is one circle. And many discover Kpop thanks to Japanese culture.
No one really owes you an explanation but if you're genuinely curious I'll say the simple truth; if foreigners need to hijack a Japan event to promote Kpop, that means *Korea isn't popular enough abroad to warrant its own event* other than KCON.
Good luck telling thousands of foreign teenagers that they need to wait years for someone to organize a specifically Kpop event so that they can go play RPD and have fun because some unimportant Korean nationalists with not enough problems in their lives got offended that they aren't the center of the world.
- Events such as Japan Expo offer a safe roof without creeps, normies, or bad weather.
- They already provide exposure to potential Kpop fans who might be around but didn't follow the news on where the next RPD might be. You're just there cosplaying and suddenly you hear BLACKPINK and you go dance with everyone.
- Traveling is expensive for just 1 hour of dancing to songs that you potentially don't even know. Many remote provinces of foreign countries don't have RPD events at all outside of the capital city. So when the RPD ends at least you still get to experience the rest of convention that you paid transportation for.
So until then maybe work on being more popular than Japan and you'll get your Korea Expo too, good luck beating anime and gaming, but a good start is not being a xenophobic gatekeeper over crimes that were committed a century ago. 💅
