(I miei patatoni esagerati ti salutano 🦮🦮
I do paint flowers sometimes, mostly from life in the summer. This palette is weak on the cool red to purple range, which is limiting, but the yellows and blues are strong. Fixing the issue of the paints not flowing is easy, I am sure you know how! This is not a beginners set, the pigment is too intense. More a practice set, which is what you intend it for. If you were painting from reference do you think you would be more confident about florals? I found photographing my own flowers so I had some reference helped. I also like to work from cuttings sometimes and observe them more like a still life or botanical specimen. A genuine chromium oxide green is great in a floral palette, it dilutes and mixes to a whole range of pale greys, pinky and yellowy greens and even bluish tones that can merge into the more vivid hues . A lot of flowers are white so a good neutral is also valuable, but that can be mixed. I do not think I would buy this set, even a good split primary set for instance can give nearly everything necessary. Not many flowers here and it is still cold and so windy!
@@awatercolourist you have to really dilute it down and use it in mixes. Weirdly given it’s usually horrible military looking opacity when used full strength it gives really wonderful delicate sheer shades because it is so dilute. Good luck exploring it.
Great message as usual! Especially your info about PG17. I have promised myself that I will paint more from my garden and I have a variety of flowers to paint from! Unfortunately here too the weather is horrible and flowers fruits and vegetables are a little late… one big hug and thank you for being such a constant, competent follower…
Your hydrangeas looks beautiful! I’m terrible with flowers, too, but sometimes I paint some that aren’t ugly so I keep trying. I’m sure you’ll be able to paint them beautifully in no time!
Gracias..🤗🤗🤗
I have this set. I love it but is very weird. The colors in your set are slightly different from mine and Jay Quesada also made a video and theirs are different too 😂 Mine have a Pbr11 and doesn't incluide pB28 for example.
If it's any help, Paul Rubens have released a second version of this set - the packaging looks the same, but the colours are different. The tubes in this video are exactly the same as the newer palette of pans.
@@WatercolorElisabetta Luckily, I am not interested in Paul Rubens. There are other companies that I would like to try. I need to use my art supplies first, though 😂.
Your flowers are great, what are you talking about! This palette looks like a fun one.
Ahaha thank you! I’m usually happy about my sketches, but flowers are my nemesis 😨.

Hi Lindy 👋🏼. Thanks for the colour mixing info; I did not think pg chromium oxide green as being useful in floral painting.

Thank you! Flowers are so difficult 😞

Thank you Sonya…. Flowers are frustrating!! I will try and keep a daily practice. ❤️🌸

This is weird!! Maybe you have pans or you have tubes? Very strange indeed! Thank you!!

Thank you Helen!! Btw I love your videos 🫶
The watercolour world has gone mad with Paul Rubens 😂. Everyone seems to be talking about them these days.
True, but they maybe talk about the new generation product? I don’t have it 😭
