From America I salute you, Ayaan. You are a breath of fresh air that is needed in the Anglosphere where we are struggling to determine who we really are. Hosting guests like the incomparable Konstantin Kisin and Francis Foster is adding muscle to the fight to restore liberty and self expression to their rightful places in the continued survival of Western Civilization. This war for free and open culture is not over, in fact it has only just begun. Please keep struggling to be heard. It is of monumental importance to our future! ❤️🙏👍🇺🇲🇬🇧🇨🇦
I'm glad my algorithm revealed this video! I enjoy listening to you both very much, so this was a treat. I wish a lot more people....especially our politicians, would talk like you both!
It is pellucidly clear now how hateful Dawkins is, how egotistical and hypocritical Sam Harris is, and how much Steven Pinker suffers from being less of a male than she is.
And now we are in a situation where also we in the West have to take our children apart and explain to them that in school they will be indoctrinated and they have to resist, while keeping quiet. It is bizarre and reminds me of my ancestors in Portugal who were forced to behave as Catholics in public while trying to preserve Judaism in private.
Horseshit - you can send your child to private school or you can homeschool them - ridiculous anyway because AI is about to completely revolutionize education - you are bitching about a problem that will soon no longer exist - smh - the pledge of allegiance is indoctrination - kids are not required to say it
I first ran across Ayaan's first book in 2009. I had absolutely nothing in common with her (pig farmer's daughter from the midwest, a devout Christian, married and living in the suburbs with our five kids) yet I found such a connection to her , and my heart ached for all she endured and I admired her thoroughly as a heroic woman. What a journey she has traveled with such honesty and humility. I am grateful for her voice in this world.
There are two ways to protect children from harm, one is making everything safe and harmless, the other is warning them of possible dangers. Better to know there's evil than to think there isn't any. We insulate the fragile young but once you're of age to understand , knowledge and awareness is a better defense.
My parents were caught smuggling Russian language bibles into the USSR. They had over 300 new Testaments hidden in every nook and cranny in their VW, including inside the mattress of my baby bassinet that I was sleeping in, in the van’s back seat….
Pleased that Ayaan Hirsi Ali has started her own podcast, all the best, looking forward to to many meaningful discussions. Great podcast name, Courage Media. Canada calling 🇨🇦
As we saw during the pandemic, people believe that the correct amount of risk is zero. Even "as safe as possible" runs into the law of diminishing returns long before it's achieved.
The real risk was overloading hospitals with sick people to the point that people died because hospitals couldn’t handle people with life threatening health issues.
@karagi101 what does that have to do with the correct amount of risk? Or are you arguing that zero is correct? What amount of risk, given how targeted the virus was, among which population, was appropriate.
@@DavidTennant-i1s Yes, the population that got hit worse tended to be older. So what? Old or young, getting very sick still meant hospital admission and clogging hospitals. The younger generally had better outcomes. I had one old relative die from it. One 50 year old neighbor die. Another neighbor in his 40’s in hospital for 5 months. A 20 year old niece caught it and continues to have breathing difficulties. I and my wife caught it but luckily after being vaccinated so it was relatively mild and didn’t have to go to a hospital. Nobody is saying the goal is zero risk. The goal was to slow it down until we had the population vaccinated. Our hospitals don’t have excess capacity to handle a surge in patients - especially when doctors and medical staff themselves could be lacking if they got sick too. If the hospitals were overflowing with Covid patients the population would panic. The economy would severely slow down. So the idea was to use social distancing and masking to slow it down so we could continue to function until we had population immunity through vaccinations. It worked.
@@karagi101 it’s tempting to say that the present is the outcome of the past. There is no scientific reason for 6 feet separation. Same for the type of mask mandated. A very contagious disease and everyone who was going to catch it caught it. Every part of the past is not an equal contributor to the present.
If evil did not exist, freedom would have no cost... for nothing would threaten freedom. Since evil does exist and seeks dominance, the prevention of its dominance requires that the good fight evil. The greater the evil, the greater the sacrifice good must make to overcome evil.

Yes, of course! Alexis de Tocqueville wrote a book, "Democracy in America," in which the line, "America is great because Americans are good." really struck me. I thought about it a lot. Tocqueville used many anecdotes to prove his point in the time period mid-1830s-1840s. While the Constitution established a government that restrained itself American Christians engaged in regular Bible study were free to create their own prosperity and educated family members to restrain themselves. American merchants strove to deal honestly with their customers while, in turn, customers dealt honestly with their neighbors and guests to their communities.

I have heard one commentator (on an excellent John Anderson interview with a polymath economist/theologian etc) suggest that strengthening inter generational households/housing infrastructures would encourage many positive changes to our living circumstances. I tend to agree. Therefore the comment that household of numerous people sharing the burden of cost of living pressures might actually be open to parenting and babies 😊
Why didn't I even know that Ayaan H. Ali had a podcat? In the past few years I have watched every video appearing on my feed involving her as a guest, author, opinionist, etc. as I deeply admire her sharp intelligence, sincerity and forthrightness, which she is able to deliver with elegant composure and politeness (very appreciated giving the tones of the current political debate in EU and USA). Yet, only now, after accidentally stumbling across her interview with Joe Rogan (which was shadow-banned), I came to learn that she has a podcast of her own with very interesting guests (note: I'm subscribed to Triggernometry as well, yet I haven't had any notification about this specific video). This channel was never suggested to me nor its videos presented in my feed page. Unbelievable.
Standup comedy has been a British thing since the music halls in the 19th century and was a big thing in WW2 and in working men’s clubs since before I went to working men’s with my dad 50 years ago. Konstantin Kisin needs to do his homework.
Very interesting discussion. The only time I see Konstabtin struggling for coherence is when he is asked questions about men and what can men do. I saw a similar thing happen when Nina Power was on triggernometry.
What has free speech got to do with demographic decline in the West or anywhere else? As nations become wealthier fewer people have children, bar groups with a conservative religious culture like the Amish and Ultra-Orthodox Jews. An uncomfortable truth for people who dislike these cultures.
The discussion of people unwilling to have children when they are living four to a flat brings another issue to mind. If more people were allowed to work from home, they wouldn’t HAVE to be crammed into expensive city apartments. This is such an easy fix. In the US in particular, imagine if we could spread out and live in “flyover” country and work for a major corporation, we would be much more likely to raise a family.
Minute 41: It is about cultural mindset. In the west it seems that the quality that has been pushed is for women to find "high status men". What is the status based upon? Materialism. The high status for both men and women should be character, virtue, values. When you push for standards that are based on materialism (in the philosophic and scientific sense), you get (often) people who will lie, cheat and debase others to grab "high status". When cultural values hold wealth, success, a fit body as the benchmark of value for a mate or for that matter as an "important person of value" the pool gets very shallow quickly in regards to kindness, or honor. The objective reality of what makes us uniquely human is the capability to actually hold in high esteem the one who can humble themselves to another person, be honest, and to stand by someone through even hard times.
To clarify my argument: generalizations must be made to address the topic. However, making such statements without any nuance or differentiation is unhelpful. Why? Because it divides us even further, and once these walls are built, you can't easily tear them down. These generalizations do no good if you don't make the effort to refine your arguments and take the time to understand the root of the problem. The same applies to movements like the red pill/black pill, the "boomer" discourse, or the generalization that all women are "woke." Such blanket statements only create more division and chaos, often stemming from laziness and weak ethics. If you admire Peterson, great. Then take a sheet of paper and, for every argument you have, debate it from both the pro and con perspectives. Only then can you provide a new conclusion that reflects an understanding of both sides. Konstantin is one of the few men who does this effectively, and this is the only way to bring something truly valuable to the table and not dividing or nation even more - which, unfortunately, we can no longer afford.
Id like to start by saying that i respect and admire Konstantin. He is a highly educated and rational person and i enjoy listening to him speak. However, something needs to be said about socialism because almost no one really understands what it actually is and what it isn't. Socialism is not a horrible and totalitarian ecconomic system imposed upon the masses by a sadistic monster... that is the modern outlook on socialism. Socialism isn't an economic system at all. In a true socialist community, money doesn't exist at all. This is because what socialism is, is a way of organizing society so that each person gets a fair and equal share of the resources the community has because each person did an equal share of the work that it took to produce those goods and aquire those resources. Socialism is the natural state of our species when living in a communal way.. socialism is what kept humanity from becoming extinct in the last ice age. Socialism is how ALL ancient people lived... No one was or felt repressed, oppressed, or abused by socialism until humans invented money.... Socialism will never work if it is forced upon the masses, but when it is a voluntary process, socialist communities work quite well indeed. All if the natuve American tribes were socialist. They did just fine for thousands of years... Until white European settlers committed a genocide to take the land mass we now call America from them. If we had a true socialist system, each person of working age would get up each day and go to work to ensure that the community functioned well. There would be people who produce food, people who make clothes, people who tend animals, people who tend children, people who make tools, people who teach others skills, and so on and so forth. Each of those people would get a fair and equal share of the food, clothes, tools, water, etc because they all worked together to make these things. Money is absolutely unnecessary and it is the thing that corrupts people and corrupted true socialist values. Period the end.
This side of culture is really high on the interconnectivity of personhood while the culture these oppose are more high on ideas regardless of the position of the person giving them. It seems more cultish to side with the person and not the idea. I don't see this in the establishment in the West but in the opposition, yes. Maybe it's what the ideologies represent at the outcomes.
Aayan even in the very beginning was better than every single public atheist. I remember fondly this amazing statemetn Almost 15 years ago , as an atheist, she said what no other public atheist said and she is now known to be utterly on target ua-cam.com/video/Z3QaLugRjMg/v-deo.html
Konstantin needs to be braver and bolder. Ayaan says controversial things and is courageous. Konstantin didn’t have the balls to interview Tommy Robinson and unjustly boxed him into a far-right compartment without a right to reply. He plays it safe to protect his career and dodges too many questions. He is a disappointment. I had hopes for him at first. No Overton windows will be smashed by Kisin. He lightly taps, at best. The one notable thing he did was expose Sam Harris’ hypocrisy. Credit for that.
There's a saying that communism attracts utopian idealists, but it breeds authoritarian zealots. To tease this apart a bit, centralized ideas of how a society should work require enforcement, destruction of individual rights, and history shows that there are many arcs that end in despotism, brutality, and poorly performing economies. As a classic American liberal, I still believe in the ideal of multiculturalism, but I can see that it has some downsides when it is mindlessly applied, and what it misses is that cultures that value freedom of thought can be overwhelmed by influx of other cultures and misguided legislation. This conversation highlights the difference in the problems between the US and Europe. I would say immigration is a bit less of a problem here, as we have mostly culturally compatible neighbors whom we need for labor. The bigger problem here is that the cost of living for middle and working class people is becoming a suffocating pressure, which is grinding them down and shortening their lives. Unfortunately Trump is only likely to make this worse given his fondness for the robber baron stratum. He will probably work to disassemble what guard rails and safety nets he can while the profiteers consolidate their grip on the "free market." Private equity is using AI to maximize rent in every neighborhood and punishing landlords who don't comply, to name just one example.
I too am encouraged by the election of President Trump and see hope for great change in America, but I am also somewhat wary of some of those changes. President Trump has changed the Republicans party. Even though those changes are conservative overall in the country, those changes have liberalized the Republican party itself. That is like taking a step back, only to continue in the same direction. Maybe, because I am older, those changes aren't as subtle to me as they would be to many younger people. I look at vulgar language becoming acceptable with our republican politicians and conservative media. Provocative dress and language is now common even among conservatives. Questionable business practices and corruption has become prevalent, etc.. "In God we trust" has become almost meaningless.
I think I disagree with konstantin's view of the cost of living - I suspect he has a rosie view of history. In the old days there were many slums in london, where people raised families in shitty conditions. By improving the quality of housing, the cost of that housing goes up. Moreover, in the old days, if you could not afford to live in london then you left and lived in some small town in the back of beyond.
Immigration, by increasing the volume of people beyond the supply of housing, definitely increases the costs. This is evident even in Canada, thanks to the governments increasing quotas by 300 percent over the last decade. It also affects job availability for citizens.
There was never a civilisation in the west its only 300 years old imperialism Asia & africa is the mother of all civilisations , so come out from your delusion

Channeling - Yuri Bezmenov We are exactly headed back to the censorship and dismantling of society you describe during your childhood and described
Freedom = criminality. Freedom + self-government = citizenship
What you’re describing is communism. Socialism is best displayed by countries such as the Scandinavian countries.

I'll say this about Gary: he may be "the idiot," but a lot of people sure are listening to him and his buddies

Multiculturalism is always less than the sum of its parts - always at the loss of the host nation.
Trump isn’t conservative. He pretends he is. He’s just about himself and what he likes.
@@ireneklassen9905 I agree your facts. Doesn't change my point though.

Ayaan. You should interview people of note. Not fellow interviewers... Kisin is a fellow cheerleader on our side of the culture war but I don't see him adding anything new or notable.
Good to see them reinforcing those Views 😊
