Ep 10 An Azamazing Time in Adelaide, Kangaroo Island & our day in Eden doesn't go as planned!

- In episode 10 of our Azamara Quest Australia Adventure, we reach Adelaide where Carole catches up with an old nursing colleague, and we have another fabulous AzAmazing Night at the Adelaide Oval.
We then arrive in Kangaroo Island where we have a fun excursion and also visit Eden where sadly things do not go as planned!
We spent 25 nights on board the Azamara Quest cruise ship cruising from Singapore to Australia and it certainly was a holiday that had lots of highs but sadly some lows too. Watch our vlog series to see if an Azamara cruise is for you!

I really enjoy both of you and I rarely like anyone lol. You guys have made me smile many times watching this series. Great personalities! It’s helping me mentally prepare for my trip on the Journey in June. Taking my 2 teenage daughters to Greece. Say a little prayer for me.
Don’t tell anyone but everyone says Journey is the best ship in the fleet 🤫
It was Eden that I visited on my 3-night Princess cruise out of Sydney - it's amazing how the weather can completely change your experience in a port. My day there was stunning, mostly due to the fact that I could just go and relax on a beautiful beach - it looks like a totally different place for your port call!
Agree the weather definitely makes all the difference! sadly it wasn't on our side that day!
Leaving Adelaide and kangaroo island going east is notoriously rough and people don't realise it but it can be really bad
It certainly can!
As a school kid there used to be German days in Hahndorf where high school students studying German would gather there, the shop staff would only talk to us in German and we had to last the day doing activities in town not speaking any English

Very nice video. I love your sense of humor! Lovely dolphins. So great that Carole got to meet an old colleague! I remember the heat I experienced in December in Sydney, and wasn’t it weird to see the Christmas decorations in the hot weather? I’d love to go back and see more of the country. The Azamara night looks amazing! Strange they had that change in the excursion. Sorry you had the rocking’ seas, some rain and saw no kangaroos, though. Too hot for them during the day. You two are so cute. I hope I get to meet you, the Cruise Buoys, Cruise Monkeys, LizzyLou, Bob and Holly, Emma and Gary Bembridge in person on a cruise some day! I got back from 3 weeks on the Oceania Marina last night, and I’m already having cruise withdrawals. Calm seas, great food, 1200 people and not one drop of rain.

Honestly you two put up with so much, I’d have been on the next plane home, I know you have sorted it with the cruise line, but the problem is you can’t get that time back and it was Christmas

The Patio is a nice place for lunch. I get the Ultimate Drinks Package. It also includes champagne, better wines and Evian or Perrier waters.
We loved the Patio. We upgraded to the Ultimate Package towards the end of the cruise as we had OBC left and enjoyed what was on offer too!
Cunard held a World Voyage Evening in Dubai at the conference center at the Atlantis Palm Hotel and had to deal with 1,200 guests. The logistics there and back were handled well but the pre-dinner drinks, the meal and entertainment was decidedly mixed. I am glad you had a good time at Adelaide. Pity there were no kangaroos, but the dolphins looked great. We saw very few on our trip but close up to whales at Cabo San Lucas and seals at San Francisco.
Was the Ausi burger kangaroo as I really enjoyed one in Sydney? Pity about Eden and the missed excursion, it rained when we were in Cairns but that didn't matter as we went to the Great Barrier Reef and you tend to get wet anyway when snorkelling
It is amazing how they organise these events! No it was beef, we didn't try kangaroo!

Adelaide Strikers are the cricket team of Adelaide, Adelaide crows & Port Adelaide Power are the AFL teams. Just thought you would like to know the difference, cause some people might get upset about what you said.

Thanks for another great video. We were going on Quest to Antarctica but already had doubts after some appalling and apathetic customer service, seems that it's a company in decline after being taken over by a private equity company. We had a cabin right at the back & after seeing the movement you experienced we decided with that & our experience so far with Azamara not to risk the Southern Ocean so cut our losses. Good news is that we saw your blog on MSC Virtuosa Yacht Club so booked a 23 night cruise from Dubai to Southampton. We're also going to Oz late 2024 with Silversea so will get to visit some of the places you went - keep up the good work😀

The Adelaide strikers are a big bash cricket team that play at Adelaide oval. The Adelaide “bombers” are the Australian Rules football team that play at Adelaide oval.

Yes Rugby Union is big here too all the posh church school's play it Rugby League is the working class game but has huge following in NSW & QLD lot of money in the game.

The temp reminds me of a trip I took to Orlando, Florida USA. I don't do well in heat, but I wanted to visit Universal Studios and see the new Harry Potter themed area, so I "trained" for eight weeks. I went on 90 minute walks every day in temps ranging 75 to 85 degrees F. Well, mid-October in Orlando for my day in Universal Studios it was 98 °F. I spent fifty percent of my time in the park tucked into little shops with air conditioner. It was brutal.

I know you have got this question several times since you disembarked Azamara, but now... so long after, you can look at your experience in a more 'neutral' way: was Azamara worth the money (and I am not talking about your destination; Australia, that is ofcourse fantastic) but the ship experience? ...and also, do you think it would have been just as good (with the same destinations) if you sailed with Princess or even HAL?
