This makes me think of any artist (particularly actors and singers) who become a celebrity and have to always please the fans, the crowd, which makes them feel suffocated. Because it is like making them forget themselves. Unable to be themselves. Which can be frustrating.
Even if Matt's smoking (he barely does it in public as far as anyone has really seen), there are singers who do WAY worse and still have the same vocal quality for decades. If Matt's voice does get wrecked, it'll be via because his singing is demanding as all hell. Natural causes will get him before anything else.
I'm agree with you... I ignore if they played any songs of this album in the other concerts during their tour around latin america but when they came to my country Chile (2008), they didn't play a single song from this great album :c...anyway it was an amazing show... I miss the "old" Muse...
I think it's because Matt has trouble with the sustain notes. It's a lot less progressive than their later work, too, and I think that factors in. After Origin, they became the more grandiose Muse that most fans learned to love. I wouldn't say they went commercial. I'd say they went progressive.
