Day in the Life of a Travel Nurse // 8 days of 12 hour shifts

- Travel nursing on steroids. I am contracted to work 48 hours a week which is four 12 hour shifts a week, and Erin and I decided to block our schedule to work two weeks all in a row which means we work eight 12 hour shifts in a row than we have 6 days off, which is really nice.
For 2 years now I’ve been trying to get into the nursing program. I used to major in game and art design, but realized I have a bigger passion in helping people and look up to my mom and dad who are nurses.
I’m hoping I can get in (my college only allows you to be considered pre-nursing for 4 semesters/2 years till you have to switch majors or transfer school, so you only get two times to apply for nursing program)
Although I’m not in and doubt I will for a while… my mom and I have been discussing possible careers and I’ve been thinking of traveling nurse so TYSM for showing your life as someone in that field!
love to hear it! keep working hard!
I can barely do 3 days in a row now I can’t believe you did 8 in a row!! Wow!!
Loved this vlog!! Love travel nurses.
Hey thank you so much for watching :)
Great video!! Loved it! I was thinking on becoming a traveling nurse as well
Travel nursing is definitely a different life style and attitude but if you’re having trouble being a staff nurse and wanted more change I would highly suggest it! I enjoyed my one contract and I’m hoping to get more experience and have more contracts to compare my experiences too!
Loved it 👋
I just tried that egg avocado toast recipe with the balsalmic sauce ... delish. Lol.
Hi from Wisconsin I feel ya
😍
"street tacos from Costco"...sounds like a good line for a nurse rap song...🥳
I’m 18 and I just decided to get into nursing, I’m trying to finish my pre req so I can get a nursing aa degree and then later on my bachelor, do u think it’s too late to start or?
Hey first of all thanks so much for watching my video!! Second it is not to late to start your nursing degree!!! I think getting an associates degree than getting to the field of nursing while completing your bachelors is probably the best way to go about it! My BF is doing that now and he’s enjoying it! We definitely need more nurses today but don’t be afraid to change your mind you have lots of years ahead of you!
Do it!!! You wont regret it!!
I hope you went for it ! I’m 22 and going back to college to peruse nursing. At first I was going for dental hygiene but nursing is where it’s at. 3 days of work 4 days off so you have still make great money but also have a personal life.
No it's not! It's never too late. You r right on time ❤️
Hey I went into college at 17 and I'm attending nursing school in Fall 2023 I'm 19, so to answer your question absolutely not it'll be one of the best investments you put time into.
who takes care of your dog while your gone?
your breakfast sandwich is the most AWESOME breakfast EVER!!!! Can I order one from you?
hehe is so simple! the sauce is the best!
I'm in nursing for my Associates right now and wanting to do travel nursing after my BSN! Was this a two week contract for travelling? I'm wondering the different lengths of contracts available.
This started as a 13 week contract but I chose to extend it (twice actually)!! I would recommend at least one year of experience in your specialty prior to traveling! Some agencies only sign on nurses with two years of experience but it just depends!
???????
