I’m not sure if it’s fair to compare the Tomlin dismissal and this. With Tomlin we lost all that experience and locker room mentality from the elite 8 run. Achor had the one great game where he went off against Pine Bluff but what else had he done? This is my beef with the transfer portal. We need team cohesion and that only comes with time. It’s a new team every year and basically gambling that these dudes are gonna gel
I am not a college coach. I do some coaching and such with employees, but I’m sure it’s at least a little bit different than being a college athletics coach. Anyway, I wonder if our coaches need to and will be able to change their frame of mind and their tactics or approaches to coachingcollege athletes in the current knee and transfer portal realities.
I'm about 30 min from Gabe Powers' home town! I know his team was one of the best in the area, his sr. year. Don't know if his rating was inflated because he was going to the Buckeyes, but would be a fair trade for Will Howard!
K-State can't even land their first choice players with whatever NIL they've had the last two years. If the NIL starts to dry up, what are they going to do?
Until they fire Middleton and adjust the offense to use WRs better, we won't get another good receiver. I"m not optimistic about any of these whatsoever. We've seen this routine two years in a row. i.e. Dante Cephas and Keagan Johnson - unimpressed with both based on the hype. Again, it may have more to do with the offense, but Middleton can't coach WRs out of a paper bag. Maybe we should let Lepak coach TEs and WRs, then maybe the WRs will block down field. #FireMiddleton
Sorry I missed the Key part. But add that and Tomlin and Desi…lightning in a bottle taking your guys and believing in them and them believing and buying in. We need to go back to that structure instead of throwing NIL money at the wall. We may have down years but if the dudes stick around and create a team, that’s where the magic happens
@calicowilly unfortunately you're not going to see guys stick around for 3 or 4 years until the portal rules change. Dudes will either want bigger exposure, more money, or elect to go pro if they're really talented. It feels like to me this staff struggles to put together mismatched portal pieces for whatever reason.
How is it NOT going to get worse on the court? You just lost one of your most prized transfers. DO WE SEE A PATTERN HERE? I'm not impressed by transfers' stats any more; you have to prove you're worthy of wearing the purple & white. Hopefully the next head coach will have proved himself. However, to land one of those, you have to provide the same level of incentive as a Kentucky, Duke, etc. Other teams up the ante, and we don't have deep enough pockets. They keep us around because we give away wins, and they throw us a bone every 10 years.

You have a great point
I’m more concerned that we aren’t getting highschool players or players that want to really be here

Love the "younger CATS " background participation
Had a dynasty with FIU recently. Hezekiah Mases and Eric Rivers, absolute studs.
Did Coach Tang dismiss him, or did our AD or President do this? What does this mean in terms of any NIL offered to him?
They’re now claiming it was mutual for him “step away”. Damage control if you ask me
Tre Spivey moving within the conference? Ugh
What happened to the good old days of high school players..... $$$$$$$$
K-State can't even land their first choice players with whatever NIL they've had the last two years. If the NIL starts to dry up, what are they going to do?
And the NIL/Portal continues.......
Was Achor's reason for dismissal due to an arrest?
Tang aint it man he had one lucky year with players from another coach
Don’t doubt the Blue Dragons Mason, damn you hater 😂
Stanard has whiffed big time thus far
What might help the transfer portal is forcing these kids to stick at their university for 2 years.
It wouldn’t be a portal then. It would be a wall.
Go after jj Hester !
So many misleading statements and overreaction, but pile on basics

Tang can’t build a roster. The first year was a fluke.
Certainly looking like that. Caught lightening in a bottle with Quis and a huge chip on his shoulder and a pseudo health gamble on Key.
@@2PP22 wasn’t just Quis, it was Keyontae too. Literally the guys with the most “heart”.

@@calicowilly Tomlin too, he was the 3rd leading scorer.
