What I love about the contest footage at the beginning is that the vibe is so reminiscent of the old Makaha surfing contest of the late 50's & early 60's, with the family and kids out there, and everyone's all relaxed and mellow. Almost expect to see George Downing walk into the frame, or maybe Marge Calhoun, wearing a vintage one-piece suit. Hope paddling never gets like pro surfing.
The explanations and visual illustrations in these videos were fantastic! I also appreciate the comprehensive approach and how you categorized things. Super great! Thanks!
I just ordered my first SUP and am looking to learn the right technique. Found your videos and think they are very detailed and informative. I will probably watch them several times trying to improve my paddling. Great job and thank you for sharing!! 😊
Danny, Thanks for creating this video (both parts)! I really appreciate the level of detail you have provided on form relating to efficiency, stability and avoiding injury (absent in most videos). Really, giving it some thought, anyone of any significant age, 58 yrs in my case, who jumps in to any kind of new activity that they don't do every day can get easily burned, hence your words proper form are really important. Looking forward to my first sup experience and will re-watch your video I am sure. -- Walking and paddle is a foot analogies great too!
Awesome, thank you heaps for this video!!! The way you explain it makes a lot of sense and providing the technical details about the blades and how they work is wonderful! Gotta try it tomorrow or one of the next days back on the water but ... is it possible that you are using a shorter length of paddle or is it just my imagination from the video? So far I've used the general recommendation of standing the paddle upright on the ground next to me, lifting my arm up above my head and adjusting the height to a comfortable grip on the handle. Somehow your paddles look shorter than that in the video. Hugs from Nazaré
Great video. I learned new things every time I watched it. I will watch it many times more. Thank you!

Wow this one was amazing, I made lots of mistakes on my first time paddling. My shoulders hurt for a couple days
Great explanation!
Demonstrating on the ground with a model on the board makes it so much easier to understand. Thank you.
I've watched my share of SUP videos as I try to get better and faster and this might be the most comprehensive and helpful.
Thanks! Big hugs from Buenos Aires
