Appreciate the video. Just want to add a few thoughts. I've studied ballistics, ammo, guns, night vision, thermal, white lights, suppressors, all levels of body armor etc for many years. I own all of the above and then some. Here are my thoughts on AR ammo for homes defense: 1. What's the environment inside and outside? Don't discount having to shoot through a wall or windshield. Especially a wall. Most people think intruder knocks door in and you get an open shot at said intruder. That may or may not happen so be ready. If you trap intruder(s) in residence and they are armed, it's likely a gun fight will ensue. If so what kind of barriers are you dealing with? The situation could end up outside. What happens when intruder decides to use 2 ton vehicle to run you over? 2. Barrel length. I think this is one of the most over looked aspects of this topic. Most people would use a 16 inch carbine which is great, but what if one prefers a 10.5 inch which imho is preferred? The round choice can be dramatically different between these two. The threshold for expansion and / or fragmentation can and will be a consideration. The heavier otm rounds may not work in your 10.5 inch barrel the way you might think. 3. Other gear on gun. Definitely a really good and dependable white light. I always make sure it's in the right location on the gun and that I practice using it. I wouldn't recommend waiting until the door comes down to make a trial run. 4. My recommendations for each barrel. Note there are many lenghts, but these two are most common. I've added a range that would work for others obviously 10.5-12 inch * Black Hills 50 gr TSX. Barrier blind. Excellent penetration. Really fast out of short barrels allowing for maximum tissue damage and expansion. * Hornady's 5.56mm barrier blind rounds between 53gr - 62gr. Note 5.56 not .223. It can be tricky to find but if you look you can. * Federal FBIT3 62gr, Speer Gold Dot 55-64gr, winchester 5.56mm bonded 14.5-18 inch barrels * all of the above work just as good or better in these barrels. More velocity equals more tissue damage. * Hornady 5.56mm TAP T2. Could be hard to find, but many consider this the best home defense ammo ever made. Barrier penetration isn't the best, but if you can find it get it. * 5.56mm copper, bonded or gilded metal rounds. The list is long but stick with 5.56mm. Go to Hornady's Law Enforcement website. Look at the list. Find the ammo online.
@@sbtiger556 Those all seem like reasonable points. Thanks for taking the time to write that out. I buy the gold dots myself. Cant afford to practice with blackhills and some of the others. I can hardly afford to practice with the gold dots either, but I've put at least 1k of the 62+64 grain gold dots down range. One thing I'd like to add is the benefit of practicing with your chosen defense ammo. Not just the obvious reasons, but the confidence it brings. I know exactly what to expect with gold dots from my guns. It makes me a lot more confident. Confidence in a fight can be the difference between winning and losing.
@@DEATH_TO_TYRANTS I plan on getting the Black Hills 50-grain TSX soon for home defense and hunting soon. Note that while the rounds themselves are indeed some of the most expensive on the market, many shooters report that that they shoot very similarly out of their rifles as XM193 practice ammo -- or near enough for 90% of your average range training. You still probably want to run enough TSX through your rifle to confirm your POI/POA and reliability, but being able to use M193 for a lot of your training without adjusting your optics sounds like a great bargain to me.
WOLFY : I personally believe all capable 18 year olds should be encouraged to attend appleseed type training. Maybe required. Maybe younger. If SHTF, they would be ready.
Gun culture is dying in America and people are just buying guns. My grandfather and aunt got a 22 before a pellet rifle. They used to have gun safety and shooting teams, those are dying. Teach kids a gun is more than a tool for defense, but being a gun owner is a lifestyle that demands the best of you and your awareness.
Thanks Reid, you verified my choice in HDA... the first rounds you showcased... Since I am newer into the AR scene, I was glad to see a respected instructor like yourself giving not only options, but doing so in a clear and concise manner
Thank you Reid. I watched this again after first viewing many years ago. Very important info. Very encouraging to be reminded that even M193 does the job just fine.
i liked the 10 moa trigger flinch. The importance of trigger control is one of the many biggies I learned at rifleman 1.JJ told me not flick my trigger finger like I was flickin a booger.I laugh, but the words ring in my head every day when I train, which is something else your class impressed on me.Your only as good as your first shot........
I just very recently bought 9 boxes of this exact ammo you have (Hornady 75 gr. BTHP), and I'm glad to know I accidentally chose the right one. In the video, he mentions 77 gr. on one of the rounds, but I guess 75 gr. is just as good? Anyhow, as soon as my eight, 40 round Magpul PMags come in the mail, I will load them all up with this ammo, and be ready for the bad guys.
@@sinqros yea 1/9 is pretty standard and stabilizes a wide range of light-ish to standard weight. 1/9 is reliable up to 69gr, although some manufacturers will claim 75 grain. 1/7 is standard mil spec.
Great video. All of your videos and information has helped me make a informed decision on my first AR15 purchase and setup. Thank you for all that you do for the 2A community.
Good video. Good info. I've read a lot of articles about the AR platform used in home defense. A lot of it has to do with how bullets perform when it hits a fleshy target. The right bullets have a tendency to explode on impact causing grievous injury, expending most of its energy. I'm reserving my AR gun for SHTF scenarios-- when things go to hell in a hand basket and can use it for every situation. Otherwise it's just me and the shotgun and a Glock 26.
Good choices! If I were to use one of my AR's for home defense I would go with the 69gn sierra match, but I use a Saiga 12 and a Glock 41. Keep the videos coming, always great info Semper Fi.
Paul Harrell just released a home defense penetration video. The 193 may fragment and/or keyhole but it still went through two interior walls and an outer wall. It is not a good round for multioccupancy buildings or in neighborhoods with a lot of modern construction. The 30 caliber carbine was worse but you expect that at home defense ranges because of greater momentum of the heavier bullet
my round of choice is hornady polymer tipped 60gr. v-max with damn near a max powder load. if they sluice coyotes they should dominate in home defense scenarios. great video reid
I agree vmax bullets on coyotes and deer I've shot rarely exit go in just enough and explode inside Drt. My thinking it'll work on a person probably about the same.
Every .233 vmax gel test video Iv seen, shows them severely underperforming...mid weight soft points are where it’s at...they’re barrier blind, expand and fragment, and penetrate properly.
Sir: May I ask if these rounds are good for 16" barrels? If yes, what limitations might I expect (not good for long range, etc.) Quick run down on video: Mr. Henrichs' recommends: Get a good white light for your gun, you MUST identify your target. Get a good gun that shoots straight and learn how to use it. What ever ammo you choose, make SURE it cycles reliably in your gun. Take it to the range and shoot, shoot, shoot until you are absolutely sure it works in your gun (and you know how to shoot well) BEFORE you rely on it for self-defense. Taking a good defense class is highly recommended. 1) XM193 55 grain, fragments, tumbles does what it's supposed to do. 2) Softpoints. Several manufacturers produces such bullets, from 62 grains and up. Doesn't cycle well in SOME guns, not so accurate at long distances, but this video is about home defense, not 200 yard shots. 3) Open Tip Match (OTM) which are made by several manufacturers. Typically 75 grains and up. Note that the heavier bullets tend to resist wind deflection at greater distances, but this vid is about home defense, not 200 yard shots. Note: this ammo can get a little expensive. 4) Finally, Polymer Tips, made by several manufacturers, typically 60 grains and up. Mr. Henrichs, I hope you don't mind my "crib notes" feel free to change anything I might have posted inaccurately. To all: Be blessed.
I have a Shepard and she knows every car and noise. She knows when someone is at the door when I don't. I use 55 grain but love my Remington 1100 with ex mag. .40 on the knight stand. I just worry about over penetration with ball ammo. I think it's safer with HP or SP. But I like the video using the AR for home defense!!! Great home defense gun!!
Yeah I've been into 300blk for awhile and everyone uses expanding bullet designs but getting into 556 now everyone is using ball ammo for defense. Doesn't make sense to me.
That's me squeezing off the first round on pretty much any handgun I've never shot before. Realized it at the range last time when I got a chance to shoot a tricked out .22 target pistol. You'd have thought I was shooting a .500 magnum the way I flinched on the first shot. :-)
Nice video Reid, it's unfortunate to see a few of those are MIL spec, yet aren't being issues widely to most of our troops. IMI seems to make a lower cost alternative to the others in the 77gr OTM realm.
Just looking at Reid's choice of rifles gives you a view to the type of guy he is. Practical.I don't know very many people out there with 16' AR's with a solid stock. In the land of tacticool Reid seems to stand out on the things that really matter.
Reid, I picked up a cheap remote on off device and attached it to a lamp in the living room, I keep the remote next to my bed and pistol (also have a flash light) I like the idea of hitting the remote and the light comes on, and it does not give away my position... What do you think?

Very good advice, even 4+ years after it was published. I’d offer one comment, which was not included in the video (I didn’t read though the nearly a thousand earlier comments to ascertain if others have posted a similar concern). The MK 262, 77 gain, 5.56x45 OTM is a superb choice, BUT barrels with slower twist rates may not stabilize this longer/heavier projectile. For example, the early 12:1 twist rate M-16 barrels might not be effective, which probably means: (1) reasonable defensive accuracy at quite short ranges, but perhaps not beyond those rather short ranges and (2) “keyholing” even at relative short ranges, which can eliminate the designed advantages of some rounds (i.e., a soft point round won’t expand well/at all if the projectile’s side - not its front - enters the target).
That phrase you use at the end of all your videos really holds true in the aviation industry too. We learned a lot from all those plane crashes! Good video. I was wondering what was the best .556 ammo.
Most of the lessons I've learned are written in books, videos, and live people discussions from live people! I've barely read the inscriptions on tombstones
Wish i could obtain an AR-15/M16, but the Liberal government here in Canada thinks that banning them and other “assault style” weapons, criminals will be unable to obtain them illegally.
I love the Hornady SP 55 gr round. pick up a box of 50 from Dicks Sporting Goods for 25 bucks and it's really accurate. At least in my AR I'm getting 1 moa or better consistanly.
Here in AZ. We had a string of home invasions where 4-5 dudes wearing body armor were reported to be the perps. My HD ammo is the Hornady XTP mixed with ss109"s.
Hey, thanks Reid. I'm kind of new to the AR-15 world (2 1/2 years experience, and only for targets and home defense). I guess I'm an 'advanced beginner'. I've learned the weapon inside and out and feel very confident with it. This video helped a ton with the all the confusing ammo choices for HD. Also thanks to Mrgunsngear for endorsing the heavier OTM rounds. Heavier seems better to me for CQB. All your choices make sense though, Reid. Cheers. (I just subscribed to you as well. :-)
Always enjoy the videos Reid! I roll my own and use 65gr (SGK) Sierra Game Kings at 2900 fps over my chrono. If it's good enough for deer and other thin skinned animals, it's good for the urban and suburb animals too :)
@@nicholas1740 77gr TMK is probably the best HD round as well. Can't go wrong with the 65gr gameking either, but the TMK is BAD medicine on anything human sized.
@@asdfghjk2933 I no longer use the TMK's. I push the yellow box bullets now. 77gn OTM Bergers. I'm getting a half min out of my DD S2W AR 18" barrel. They are very accurate out to 725 yards in my AR. I still have a thou of the 65 SGK's rolled and ready to rock inside the house. I've found the last few years that Bergers are just a better flying bullet, in my experience.
Same principle buy a all copper open tip round or hollow point. They make pdx1 in 762 by 39 that's not a bad choice....He showed an example of his 762 39 defensive ammo it was Hornady also not a bad choice
To all wondering, I now use wolf soft point ammo. DON'T use hollow point, too much penetration. After watching many ballistics tests, soft point will only penetrate about 12" into ballistics gel, where fmj and hp will go all the way through. It'll still go through drywall, so aware of your target and what's beyond it. It probably won't leave your house, but it might go through a couple rooms. Fire from the kneeling position at an upward angle to minimize risk.
I am a subscriber and enjoy your straight to the point approach. The ammunition you suggest was spot on but now the homeowner might have to deal with a new and different threat ........ like an individual that is wearing improvised body armor and/or helmets. Maybe you could touch on that subject in the future. And thank you for your great videos.
dkroll92 a carbine with the mid length gas system/hand guard with and A1 stock is a good looking and functional setup. the carbine length gas system/handguard sets off my symmetrical ocd with it looking so stubby up front lol.
I know what you mean about the gas system to barrel length. Mid length has enough advantages and no real disadvantages on its own to make it a worthwhile consideration. I will say I've never fired an AR with an A1 stock, but I feel like it might shoulder comfortably despite my long arms. Need to build one someday.
EXCELLENT VIDEO. MOST Cost Effective M193 is the best choice. Also pennetrates FBI barriers pretty damn well. Second and much more expensive, the GDSP 55 gr. Cycles PERFECTLY and VERY ACCURATE.
Nick Rodriguez I love the M193 & M855/M855A1... The M stands for ACTUAL Military ammo, whereas, XM193 & XM855/XM855A1 is NOT used by the Military, but it meets military specs So, the Military doesn't use it, but it'd be good enough for the if they needed ammo.

Awesome video I like the soft points for home defense they tend to explode on impact about an inch in specially at 7 yards and it's pretty nasty work when you're shooting somebody with the soft points
Reid, I can confirm your statement of needing a white light. It saved at least one if not both of my twin teenage boys lives, from me. Have a foursevens on my AR. Sitting on back porch with the wife around 1am in the dark. We both thought they were inside. We heard walking down our driveway. Lots of recent break ins and few bad home invasions in our area in the past several months. We had a previous burglary. Both of us were in a state of shock and near panic from the light footsteps on the gravel. I had my AR with me at the time. Without really thinking about it, I got in a position to shoot and when they cleared the gate and came into line of sight I shined them. Can't explain the feeling when I saw them. They had earlier slipped out of the front door unnoticed to check the mail, guess they couldn't sleep either. Had I depended solely on the dim light of tritium and not had trigger discipline, my life might have changed that day when I saw silhouettes. In the end they were more pissed that how bright the light was than the fact that I pointed a rifle at them. It's and important message, and I'm glad you keep saying it.
2:43 i think that particular round is a pointed soft point. I have both types in .243 with soft point you see the lead when looking from the side meaning the jacket stops short of the tip itself. With pointed soft points the jacket goes up to the tip but doesn't cover over the top. Pointed soft point: media.midwayusa.com/productimages/880x660/Primary/931/931249.jpg Soft point: media.midwayusa.com/productimages/880x660/Primary/831/831423.jpg
Sarah Watson Speer gold dot is widely considered one of the best bullets...barrier blind, consistent and immediate expansion, proper penetration. Dr Gary Roberts is the authority in self defense ammo, he’s done more testing then anyone, and most standards are derived from his work
The Barnes bullets are solid copper and known for holding there weight and penetration, and am almost sure it would over penetrate. Unlike a lead or other type of bullet the copper tends to hold together and push through anything. I have experienced this in person hunting. A soft point 223 may or may not exit on deer size game but I've never seen the TSX bullet not exit. Both will work but in doors I would not choose that round.
asdfghjk Depends on the human. Some have heavier muscle density and thicker skulls. Which consequently are the ones most likely to commit home invasions.
+axe609 Having had a lot of failures to fire with that ammo at the range, I just don't have the confidence in it to use it for self defense. Being that I don't live in abject poverty I can afford a few hundred rounds of reliable "go to war" ammo to go with my plinkers, lol.
BallisticRedneck I'll say it is better for me. I'm not Rambo, I'm not going to try to run the AR one handed while I grab one or both of my twin 3 year old girls with the other who wandered out of their room to see "who's there daddy?" A handgun is a better option for some of us despite possible over penetration.
+Cole Dedhand I have couple of mags with M855's in case of conflict against armored personnel. Can you elaborate on why you "never bet your life on M855."? Thanks.
First, M855 is no better against armor than other 5.56 ammo. In fact M193 will penetrate level 3 AR500 steel armor but M855 will not. Yes I've seen that myself. Velocity is what defeats armor, not tiny steel tips. Second, M855 is designed to work from a 20" barrel. From a carbine barrel, unless you are lucky enough to hit bone, it ice picks. It's OK if you don't believe me, but the information is out there so do your research before you decide what ammunition to bet your life on.
I have seen no proof or evidence that M193 or M855 will pierce AR500's Level III steel armor (which is rated to stop 7.62x51mm M80). I've heard complaints that they will dent and ding up your armor, but I've never heard a report of somebody shooting through their AR500 armor with one round from a M193 or M855. Please provide proof if you choose to stand by your statement. Armor wouldn't be very effective if the most common rounds it is meant to stop instead penetrate it. Rule of thumb, armor rated to stop specific rounds isn't defeated by those rounds.
First idiot I did not say it was AR500 brand. I said it was AR500 steel. Reading not your strong point? It was another brand. Not saying which because my point is not to disparage the armor but to point out that M855 is not armor piercing. Second I don't have to prove shit. Believe or not. No fuks given.
Cole Dedhand Wow, that was hostile and rude. You did say "AR500" which is arguably the most popular brand of personal armor. Even if not AR500 brand, AR500 is a specific grade of steel that at SAPI plate thicknesses is not likely to yield to 5.56. Please provide an example (brand, product, or video evidence) so that we can either read the specs of that armor or observe a 5.56 rated armor plate on video fail to protect against some of the most common 5.56 rounds. And yes, if you say fraudulent things (or make outlandish claims) and insist that they are correct, you should provide evidence to support your statement. If you fail to do so, it can be assumed that it is because your statement is incorrect.
This topic is overthought by a lot of people. I personally like buying a bunch of mil spec m193 for a good price and just use it for everything from plinking to defense. Out of a 16"+ barrel m193 will most definitely do the job and I know exactly how it's going to shoot out of my guns because that's what I train with 🤷♂️
I don't need a white light...Anyone coming in thru my funnel of death (main hallway from my front door) is getting lit up. Hallway lights will be off for my advantage. I've already trained my family to stay out of the funnel if shit goes down
So what if the bad guy enters through a different location? What if the fight moves out of your funnel? What if the fight goes outside of the home? Having a weapon light is just good old common sense. They have many different uses.
karmatso My house is set up to where the only entrance would be thru my hallway going up from my front door. There is no way to get around this. "What if the fight goes outside of the home?"...It aint going outside my home. If the assailants are already outside, then either they gave up and turned around, or I've sent them enough lead to convince them they need to take off lol. Btw, I have movement detection lights all around my property....
Casey Z No "harmless drunk guy" is going to knock down my front door which has a dead bolt. If anyone goes thru the trouble of getting in, they don't have good intentions to begin with
Good ole Winchester or almost anything except green tips is G2G. Rifle rounds selection doesn't matter nearly as much as pistol ammo because pistol is so anemic compared to the robust rifle velocity.
My favorite SHTF/Home defense round for my 1:8 twist AR's are the IMI Razor 69gr & 77gr OTM's. They are good for the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) so they are great for me. Only problem might be Over Penetration? At 4:00 minutes...
When it comes to XM193 ball, would something like Wolf Gold be good enough, since it's Taiwanese XM193, or should we stick to something like Federal or IMI?
Not a myth so much as irrelevant. There are a few (older) tests performed in a relatively scientific way that show some benefit accuracy wise from a 'break in' period. The benefit is very small and only really relevant to folks who are shooting benchrest or similar. The effects on accuracy pale in comparison to those gained from a good barrel, proper handload development, and scores of other factors. If you aren't trying to put multiple bullets through the same load at long range from a sled type rest, It isn't something you should worry about. If you are concerned with this type of accuracy, you can look into firelaping (shooting abrasive impregnated lead bullets to smooth the imperfections in a barrel), which serves the same purpose to an arguably greater degree.

good overview. OTM for me.
+Mrgunsngear Channel Especially with SBRs, either OTMs or soft points are a must.
Appreciate the video. Just want to add a few thoughts. I've studied ballistics, ammo, guns, night vision, thermal, white lights, suppressors, all levels of body armor etc for many years. I own all of the above and then some. Here are my thoughts on AR ammo for homes defense:
I've added a range that would work for others obviously
10.5-12 inch
* Black Hills 50 gr TSX.
* Federal FBIT3 62gr, Speer Gold Dot 55-64gr, winchester 5.56mm bonded
14.5-18 inch barrels
* all of the above work just as good or better in these barrels.

One thing I'd like to add is the benefit of practicing with your chosen defense ammo. Not just the obvious reasons, but the confidence it brings. I know exactly what to expect with gold dots from my guns. It makes me a lot more confident. Confidence in a fight can be the difference between winning and losing.

"10 MOA trigger flinch" LOL
It did the same to me! 😜🖖🏻🇫🇷

You got that right.
A government with the least amount of power over citizens is the best way to remain free.
No shit
Thanks Reid, you verified my choice in HDA... the first rounds you showcased... Since I am newer into the AR scene, I was glad to see a respected instructor like yourself giving not only options, but doing so in a clear and concise manner
Thank you Reid. I watched this again after first viewing many years ago. Very important info. Very encouraging to be reminded that even M193 does the job just fine.
1. 77gr OTM
2. 55gr XM193
i liked the 10 moa trigger flinch. The importance of trigger control is one of the many biggies I learned at rifleman 1.JJ told me not flick my trigger finger like I was flickin a booger.I laugh, but the words ring in my head every day when I train, which is something else your class impressed on me.Your only as good as your first shot........
I also like the Hornady 75 gr. BTHP. I haven't seen any feeding issues in my AR with it. All the ones you mentioned I like as well.
I hsve XM193. Just ordered some 55 grain VMax and some 55 grain soft point last night.
Worth mentioning is rifling twist for the heavier rounds since they’re longer bullets they like tighter twists like 1:8 or 1:7. Good video
Most nowadays have a 1/9 twist, S&W M&P 15s used to have 1/8 twist rates”but they went back to 1/9
@@sinqros yea 1/9 is pretty standard and stabilizes a wide range of light-ish to standard weight. 1/9 is reliable up to 69gr, although some manufacturers will claim 75 grain. 1/7 is standard mil spec.

I like Reid's videos. He always speaks sure of himself without being a smartass or being sassy and sarcastic.
I've got XM193 in my AR-15, however I usually hog hunt with a soft tip bullet. Glad to know I'm doin it right!
Awesome video Reid. I have watched this several times. I will be purchasing my first AR-15 in a few weeks. Thanks.
M193 gang.
I understand there are better rounds, but m193 is affordable, dependable, and effective enough.
Reed, i gain useable knowledge listening to your videos, its not just entertainment. I appreciate you taking the time to do these "life must's" videos

Both my AR's (Colt LE6920 and a BCM/RRA 20" have old school A2 stocks. 👍🏻
rockhopper01 I'm with you there. Not only to do I love the look, but I think I preform the best with solid stocks...
Huh I have the opposite of that, I have a 20 inch with a collapsible stock. A Roger superstoc that locks up and it's pretty solid once it's locked.
Excellent advice. Minimise any chance of a failure and maximise all you can to your advantage. Clean rifle, good mags and suitable ammo.
Reid, I picked up a cheap remote on off device and attached it to a lamp in the living room, I keep the remote next to my bed and pistol (also have a flash light) I like the idea of hitting the remote and the light comes on, and it does not give away my position... What do you think?
+Brian W Good idea. I'm using it.
wouldn't that temporarily blind you as opposed to a good flashlight that can somewhat direct a beam in a specific direction?

+Y'shua Stokes IT's not good for home defense. That hornady round is good though.
The USA it's all I've got.
I love full stocks on AR carbines.

dkroll92 a carbine with the mid length gas system/hand guard with and A1 stock is a good looking and functional setup. the carbine length gas system/handguard sets off my symmetrical ocd with it looking so stubby up front lol.
I know what you mean about the gas system to barrel length. Mid length has enough advantages and no real disadvantages on its own to make it a worthwhile consideration. I will say I've never fired an AR with an A1 stock, but I feel like it might shoulder comfortably despite my long arms. Need to build one someday.

snteevveetns "Honey, I only bought a few boxes..."

How many documented real life shootings have there been with this ammo?

??? Barnes VOR-TX Ammunition 5.56x45mm NATO 70 Grain Triple-Shock X Bullet Hollow Point ???
yes
The Barnes bullets are solid copper and known for holding there weight and penetration, and am almost sure it would over penetrate. Unlike a lead or other type of bullet the copper tends to hold together and push through anything. I have experienced this in person hunting. A soft point 223 may or may not exit on deer size game but I've never seen the TSX bullet not exit. Both will work but in doors I would not choose that round.
I agree. all copper bullets will get 30+" of penetration.
Good for hunting pigs, too much penetration for humans
asdfghjk Depends on the human. Some have heavier muscle density and thicker skulls. Which consequently are the ones most likely to commit home invasions.

I am shocked TulAmmo never made the list.
+axe609 Having had a lot of failures to fire with that ammo at the range, I just don't have the confidence in it to use it for self defense. Being that I don't live in abject poverty I can afford a few hundred rounds of reliable "go to war" ammo to go with my plinkers, lol.
Soft point projectiles works very well.
I love when people say a handgun is better for home defense.
+BallisticRedneck I don't.

A handgun is a better option for some of us despite possible over penetration.
Well, the handgun is best until you can work yourself out of the rabbit hole, it all depends where one is located when it is time to begin fire.

I'm glad I found your videos! Very helpful. I'm a new AR owner.
You didn't mention it but I will. Never bet your life on M855.
Cole Dedhand
Wow, that was hostile and rude.

Considering buying my 1st AR for home defense and I've subscribed to your channel, great vids bud, I appreciate the focus on safety as well
Do it. Take advantage of the 2nd amendment.
What if it's some harmless drunk guy who thought they were in their own house?
I suppose your house has no windows or other doors then?
Casey Z No "harmless drunk guy" is going to knock down my front door which has a dead bolt. If anyone goes thru the trouble of getting in, they don't have good intentions to begin with

+Mark_115 Wolf Gold is the greatest bargain out there.
+Reid Henrichs can you please do a video about "barrel break in?" Constantly hearing contradicting information about barrel break in
Not a myth so much as irrelevant.
I've killed alot of shit with all of those rounds, but I keep 55gr. Gold dots in my home defense rifle.
