LANZAROTE (Jan 2022) - CALETA DE FAMARA (and beach) , Surfers' Paradise

Caleta de Famara is at the end of a long valley and is surrounded on one side by the Famara cliffs. The former fishing village is now a haven for surf enthusiasts and for day trippers who make use of the huge Famara beach. There are views out to the island of La Graciosa and other small islands.

We’ve been visiting Playa de Famara for years and having a long languid lunch at the Restaurant El Risco ( the cliffs are called El Risco. One of my favourite places in Lanzarote but be careful of the undertow.

Lanzarote is a volcanic island. Yes, you can see trees in other parts of the island, but not here.
