- All I needed was a bright sunny day with fun size surf and we got it this past Saturday on the North Shore. Surprisingly there wasn't a big crowd out on a normally busy Saturday morning. I used my new Insta360 X3 camera with a simple fitting from Amazon to attach the camera to the GoPro mouth mount. I am still learning about this 360 video camera and editing but so far I'm hooked.

Hi, very cool video! What do you use to prevent water droplets on the lens? I started using insta360 X3 just few days ago and there was too many drops on the lens 😢
Yes water spots are a problem on a 360 camera. I put a microfiber cleaning cloth in the pocket of my board shorts and wipe down both lens periodically during my surf session. That might be a problem for you kite surfing. Have you seen the new kite surfing mount that Insta360 has started to sell? Maybe mounting the camera higher up above the waterline that might help reduce water splashing onto the lens.
Also you get the best results on sunny days shooting at 5.7K. For surfing we like windless days but that is not possible for kite or wind surfing.

How would you rate the waterproofing on it? did you use a case or is fine out of the box?
Very good for normal surf action. No problems after 4 months of use when the camera was mounted on the board or on my helmet. The charging door did pop open when I was experimenting with a homemade floating selfie stick.
I broke 3 of those cameras kiteboarding with gopro max is way more waterproof the door on the x3 doesn't seal as well as the gopro

Cool, I see you got the Insta 360 X3. Hows that going? I had the X2 but the water proofing was terrible. Lost numerous cameras. Let me know how the X3 goes please
