Was literally thinking about a list in my head of “essentials,” and now I’m seeing it in a different way. It really should be more of what you want, so follow your heart, as I say ❤
Take a moment now to sense whether you are carrying any guilt associated with the habits you are trying to cultivate. Oftentimes people beat themselves up for their stops and starts, or not achieving things fast enough. Take a deep breath and realize there is no need for misplaced anger any longer. Here in Fabulous, there is no self-loathing, no bad grades. Everyone goes at their own pace, taking tiny steps and celebrating each one.
For my first wedding, I wore the white bridal gown. But for my second wedding, I wore a sparkling blue gown. Because I loved it. I look at pictures and I like how I look in my second wedding better!
OMG - Yasssss. This. I wore sneakers with a dress to the office today. It felt/feels ridiculously freeing. And the bridal white thing - dear god. I wore blue. My mother had a meltdown. But I felt glorious and different. Like a Queen. I worked for big pharma a while back and the dress rules for women were ridiculous - no pants, always pantyhose, matching jacket and skirt, hair above the collar or worn up. Women need to rebel against this rubbish. Do what feels good to you. You will feel more powerful, more yourself, if you're comfortable. Thanks for the challenge Amanda.
YES! We all do better if we take the time to understand why we do what we do, why we wear what we wear, and then make our choices. Nice food for thought.
Great talk on a very relevant topic. It's very difficult to breakout of the mindset engrained by previous generations. I can safely say I will never ever go back to heels!
I didn't do white for my wedding! (See profile pic) For me, white isn't a color that generally looks good on me. Blue, on the other hand...Oh, I got SO MANY compliments for it.
It's not a time of great upheaval in our society it happens every decade. In London in 1962 "WINKLE PICKER" was buried. The high heel pointy toe shoe. It was buried at a ceremony because it was crippling us. Now it's being worn again.
I love high heels and I wish I wanted to get married just so I could wear a white dress and have a three-tiered wedding cake in my honor LOL. What I detest are sneakers , big baggy sweatshirts and those big clunky and gaudy colored clogs with holes in them that aren't even that practical .
Is this more rhetoric to undermine the Western World Clothing gives a certain impression. Why does a Lumberjack rip the sleeves off his shirts and wear Nicks Boots if they can afford them. Clothing can be a leveller look at school uniform. Look at the Arabic Dress 1400+ years after Muhammad they are still wearing it as a leveller like going swimming with a swimming costume you pretty much have no idea on the status of another individual. Fitting in! Whist other cultures embrace their clothing music etc. We have to applaud theirs and think that ours is wrong.
So what you’re saying is, Question authority? though I didn’t and I got somewhere. I fit in well when I was young. Now you shouldn’t. I’m a little confused as to what the messages here. That neither of you had sense enough to see if the blazer fit her or was cut right? There’s a lot of ways to make a blazer. There’s a lot of people who wear dark gray or dark blue or something like that. You seem like a nice person not much to say. Do you do sales?

I began questioning many "norms" and "rules" in 2020 and I haven't stopped yet!

Her voice sounds like Cher Horowitz, which makes it perfect for this talk.
I love it!

I must keep thinking
she killed this
Obi Wan wore a sash like this, didn't he? (And some guys do wear dresses.😅)
It is nice to wear beautiful and with norm as is place of work. And today brands do the bes❤t,...Congratulation😍🌎
Always have ruffled feathers, always will. 😊
You'll never see me in a skirt, or wearing a pony tail!
I will never get it. Maybe my brain is wired differently. I wear what ever the fvck I want.
Didn't queen victoria influence a LOT of "standards" upheld even today?
“Women to look smaller! Wow!
i still didn't get what she said. could you please elaborate it for me?
Listen again …
that one got me too
❤❤❤❤❤

Says so wearing corporate dress. Also: Why does every TEDx talker talks sooo slow?
This advertisement was sponsored by the mom jeans industry to take away all of the things we enjoy in life.
Claims a woman who literally dressed to look more professional. The irony.
Maybe she felt comfortable and right in this outfit for this occasion. Maybe it's her choice, ever considered that?
Yeah I was thinking the exact same. The most conformist, capital-fascist, non-expressive, ill-fitting uniform. Truly ridiculous.
@@wearetemporary what else would you suggest? Just genuinely want to know
@@saloni2117 the professional outfit right.
Yeah right
she mentions she still has those clothes, but being aware of why you’re wearing it (for yourself, not society “rules”) is the point.

Murder weapon.
I would never wear a skirt. Even small running shorts are not a good idea if I want to be comfortable and still keep my nuts covered lol
I guess giving up on your appearance is all the rage rn 🤢
People may look more beautiful if they don’t try to conform.
Ok but can we please leave the pajamas, slippers and bonnets at home, strictly for bedtime!
Not the best public speaker. 😂
she made it to the end tho. i think it’s way harder to bounce back after you mess up, then do it perfectly all the way through.
