- This superior TV series ran for five seasons and starred Michael Rennie as Harry Lime and Jonathan Harris (Dr. Smith from Lost in Space). This outing finds Lime being a murder target in Madrid. This is one of a few from the full 77 episode run that fell into the U.S. public domain from lack of copyright renewal.
The Day The Earth Stood Still. Awesome movie, starring Michael Rennie.
How ironic that in the original movie, Harry Lime was an ultimate villain, a complete dirtbag, yet in the television series, he's the "hero".
Michael Rennie who later on also played the part of the captain of the Titanic on the very first episode of the Time Tunnel TV series in 1966.
+Brian Bingham He also appeared with Jonathan Harris in the two-part episode "The Keeper" on "Lost in Space".
Same actors that were in Dangerman, thanks for the upload.
@ 16:24 Mr. Harris is soooo much like his Dr. Smith whimpy character but much more subtle
Dr. Smith ( Gasp, Gasp ) ""Ohhhh dear, oh the pain, the pain. Now see here gentlemen, there's no need to point your laser guns, I mean your guns at me. ( Think fast Smith save my ass ) Gentlemen I assure you that your secret is safe with me. Why ask anyone they will tell you that good ole Dr. Smith can keep a secret. Uhhhh, what exactly is going on here and is it valuable? "
Dr. Smith with actor Delgado from Doctor Who: "'So tell me dear sir? I understand that you own a ship called The TARDIS that can travel through both time and space? How interesting indeed. Might i interest you in a little trip, say to Earth ?"" :) :)
Roger Delgado, the Master from Doctor Who!
Thank god for Mother Beeb - great to see Rennie.
When Orson Welles did it on the radio it was even better!
77 episodes? UA-cam has TWO episodes and four 10-minute segments.
Mr Harris: "All Spanish women look alike." LOL! Can you imagine the uproar if something like that was said in a TV series these days? And rightfully so.
*Harry Lime lives!*
great stuff
the old British film copanies must ahve been staffed by zombies who never went out in the sun - so many dark miserabloe films from the 50/60s!
