    I think this has changed my life . Thank you so much for making this!!!! I need lots of breaks due to low energy and lack of focus.. but I always got frustrated with the pomodoro so I’d end up not using any breaks and burn myself out and then waste hours of my day doing nothing. This is an absolute game changer! Thank you!

    My pomodoro was similar to this... block out several hrs to a whole day, study 50:10. If it's a slog, take the 10, otherwise keep going. If you've done more than one round, you can take the usual 10 or claim the missed breaks, for a better rest. Take a proper food (etc) break on 4, 4, 3 hrs

      I actually did this exact schedule when writing my masters papers. I didn't realize the pomo existed, but I noticed that if I incorporated scheduled breaks into my study time I actually got sh*t done.

    Hey Archer, I absolutely love ur technique.
    I started the pomodoro technique a few weeks ago and when ever I read, with time I get into the flow state and when am flowing the time suddenly elapses when am not done.
    So I'm really happy I saw ur video and I'm excited to try it right now.
    My reading time is usually from 5.30am or 6am.
    I love you video.

    I came up with this flow modoro idea myself - tried pomodoro and found that it totally derailed me when I was at my most focussed and in the groove. So I took note of how long I could go without needing a break, when my concentration was flagging, and it turned out it was anything from 15 to 80 minutes.
    You just have to be aware of the signs and take the break at the most appropriate time.
    I also found that a study session of as little as 15 minutes could be really valuable - but you need to be aware of when you might need to limit it to that so you can choose an appropriate task.

    How would you pair that up with task estimation? Pomodoro does get in the way of focus sometimes, but I like being able to break my work time into small fixed-sized chunks, which makes it easier to estimate tasks.

    I like this idea but with the varying study durations, how will I know when to take a long break? In standard pomodoro, you usually take a longer break after 4 sessions. What about here? How can I determine when and how much should I take a longer break?

    • @ArcherNewton
      @ArcherNewton  3 роки тому +5

      You can notice it by tracking your energy. If you notice your breaks getting longer and longer, you'll find the sweetspot that is optimised for your body when you want to take the break. Pomodoro again is really rigid, it is quite rare that the 'perfect longer break' always happens after 4 sessions.

    I bought a stopwatch off of amazon. An easier setup is the best IMO. I dislike having to open a tab where I have to have my online timer and all that stuff. Instead of notion I use onenote and I have a little table with the stuff I want to write down such as intentions and time etc...But yeah this flowmodoro idea is way better than the pomodoro technique

    No way your technique isn't better than Pomodoro. It is simply another technique that serves another group of people. Some people need pomodoro to stay focused. Stop ragging on a technique you built on and just present your technique for the audience that needs it!!!! Ugh!!!

    • @kush3687
      @kush3687 7 місяців тому

      Nope you are wrong he talking about using pomodoro in studying which is not quite great because its very arbitrary, whereas flowmodoro is based on your focus and not specifically on fixed amount of time spent

    • @kush3687
      @kush3687 7 місяців тому

      With flowmodoro and active breaks you can get more task done as compared to pomodoro because you are optimising breaks and time taken to regain you peak focus also become shorter based upon research
