The Annihilator Projectile That Ukraine Is So Anxious to Shoot

- In the crucible of the 2003 Iraq War, under the relentless sun of the desert battleground, a new era of warfare was dawning.
As the conflict began, the Royal Air Force’s 617 Squadron swept in armed with an unprecedented weapon system. Their aircraft carried an experimental marvel, an air-launched cruise missile of such advanced technology it still lived in the realm of dreams for most.
Though this tech was not yet meant to see the light of day, the turbulent times called for desperate measures. Veiled under the guise of an ‘accelerated testing schedule,’ the RAF opted to unleash their precious Storm Shadow missiles on the battlefields of the Middle East.
Undetectable by most conventional methods, these projectiles sliced through the air at near-supersonic speeds, streaking across 340 miles. The RAF Tornados were now armed with technology decades ahead of anything the enemy could possess.
Twenty years later, the stealthy projectile continues to redefine the fate of nations across the globe. Experts speculate its potency could tip the scales in Ukraine’s favor in its struggle against Russian aggression. - Наука та технологія
Storm shadow missile were also used Resently to attack the Russian occupied shipyard of Sevastaopol. during that strike, they heavly damage the Russian landing Ship Minsk, and the Improved Kilo class Attack submarine Rostov-na-donu.
USA "We need to nerf the himars to limit its range so they can't cause an international incident." The UK "Hold my draft beer."
@@philonetic321UK was not a signatory to the same missile range treaty like the USA and USSR so it was not restricted from making certain catagories of weapons. Have Ireland hold your beer.
Recently.
@blitskreegdeantioch5851 you are correct as we aren't a signatory to the missile range treaty like the other two the supplying of storm shadow missiles does come with the risk of an international incident. So we asked Ukraine to not use them to attempt to blow up the Kremlin lol. Also hell no I'd rather drop my beer than let Ireland hold it, they'd drink it
@@blitskreegdeantioch5851 not what he's talking about
Us didn't give until recently long range weapons like atacms to Ukraine because they feared Ukraine would use it to attack Russia itself and cause a diplomatic Crysis
whilst Storm-Shadow is a joint UK / France project, there was an earlier stand-off missile the UK was playing with - BAeD Mantis (not the UAV) - it was designed to be launched from a Tornado and fly down a runway dropping special kinds of muntions to crater then deny repair, the main body would then fly off to a secondary target to hit - it did not go into production, as i believe the JP233 was choosen over it (after losses of tornado's it was also stopped) - the French were playing with their own version called ASMP C which did go into production - probably why both countries play together with Storm Shadow
there is a famous picture of two marines pointing a hole in a HAS, each pointing from different directions - the first storm shadow hit the HAS going inside it and then a second went down the hole made by the first - whilst the HAS was slightly damaged externally, nothing survived internally - that BROACH warhead is extreme good at destroying anything it hits or gets inside of
there is another quite famous video taken from the belly of a tornado showing the luckest driver in IRAQ - a car drives past as the first storm shadow hits on side of the bridge and as the car clears the final side of the bridge a second storm shadow hits that side - the bridge was almost totalled with vast amounts of it missing after the attack
Pretty awesome weapon
Kudos for reminding it's a joint project originating from french apache missile. Some youtubers are a bit too anglo american centered .
Not only does it originates from the French Apache, the Storm Shadow is just the English name of the French SCALP-EG. The missile was developed and made by the French firm Matra. It is an entirely French missile.
STORM SHADOW (song by Cat Stevens)
Yes, I've been hit by a storm shadow
storm shadow, storm shadow
Leaping and hopping 'cause of storm shadow
storm shadow, storm shadow
And if I ever lose my hands
Lose my plow, lose my land
Oh, if I ever lose my hands
Oh, if, I won't have to run no more
And if I ever lose my eyes
If my colors all run dry
Yes, if I ever lose my eyes
Oh, if, I won't have to scream no more
Yes, I've been hit by a storm shadow
storm shadow, storm shadow
Leaping and hopping 'cause of storm shadow
storm shadow, storm shadow
And if I ever lose my legs
I won't moan, and I won't beg
Oh, if I ever lose my legs
Oh, if, I won't have to run no more
And if I ever lose my mouth
All my teeth, north and south
Yes, if I ever lose my mouth
Oh, if, I won't have to talk
Did it take long to find me?
I ask the faithful light
Oh, did it take long to find me?
And, are you gonna stay the night?
I've been hit by a storm shadow
storm shadow, storm shadow
Leaping and hopping 'cause of storm shadow
storm shadow, storm shadow
storm shadow, storm shadow
storm shadow, storm shadow
NO. STOP being an ass.
This is disgusting twisting of the original. Yusuf Islam is his name now.
WIKI: "While on holiday in Marrakesh, Stevens was intrigued by the sound of the adhān, the Islamic ritual call to prayer, which was explained to him as "music for God". Stevens said, "I thought, music for God? I'd never heard that before - I'd heard of music for money, music for fame, music for personal power, but music for God!?
It's long past time for Britons to Hop on the Peace Train.
Fantastic remix!!! 😂
@@johngaglione2236 lol... when the news of Storm Shadow missiles had came to Ukraine... all I could hear in my head was this lovely song
(Moon Shadow)... so I changed a bit the lyrics and here it is... I bet Cat Steven himself would like it too...

You even showed him!
Great video as always!
-From- To Russia with love.
(Yes, James Bond reference.)
In suppository form...
Russians can have similar with higher yield warheads as of Fab 1500
Also stealthy looking ones on tbere bigger bombers
These glide bombs are cluster warheads to disable aircrafts on airfields mostly .then anti personnel armor etc.
They fsll orey to AA
six - one - seven squadron.
The Dambusters.
Exactly, the Dambusters. Same that in the past, was the nuclear spearhead of the RAF.
As this kind of technology becomes more commonplace I wonder if we'll see future visual camouflage designs being optimised to confuse AI / machine vision rather than human vision?
How about stormbreaker II, and ground launched stormbreakerII .
Must admit, not enjoying the distraction of the overly loud music in the background on recent videos.
The Storm Shadow carries twice the payload of badassery than the Scalp does, due to naming alone.
What's with the F-35 video clips??
Love your vids . Background music bit too loud at times to hear you, great otherwise.
Thanks, Dark Tech.
make you wonder what we have no but don't use...
I won't ask what. But do we have something similar?
War has changed...
Wasn’t storm shadow a bad guy?
Honey, sweetie, babydoll. Please stop with the big red arrow on the thumbnail. It has become a deterrent
great presentation; good you showed hillary's private conflict in your doc; thanks.
Stealthy yes, long range no. 😊
It was considered long for an air-to-surface missile of this caliber in the 90s when people designed it.
It's still much longer than usual surface-to-air countermeasures and "long-range" artillery. So it's still, in that particular sense and according to its role, "long range", even 560km (348 miles) is rather short for a cruise missile.
Reminds me of the Dreadnaught episode of Voyager, even if it's not AI controlled and we'll never have AI anyway.
You mean AGI.
We already have AI.
@@MostlyPennyCat I don't even consider neural network based programs to be AI, and I only ever use the term AGI around people that demand we call things that aren't intelligent AI.
Russians is using them as a showpiece in capture arms show near Moscow😂😂😂
yea they do toghether with a submarine and a battle ship both broken in half + 3 s400 batteries and 2 radars all in crimea

Insufficient numbers and too expensive for Ukraine
Putin has taken out over a trillion dollars in loans in the EU to cover the deficit stated by the IMF. Just so he can hide in his Mansion in Cape Idokopas, or Valdai, or Bocharov Ruchey in Sochi, or his luxurious Villa Marbella.
And his mistress gymnast Alina Kabaeva where he has illegitimate children living in Switzerland in luxury. While he destroys Russia making the living standard worse. Where an average pension is only 14,000 Roubles.
at 30" you show rafale fighter as exanple, a french fighter, funny..... 1.32" Mirage 2000, 4.13 rafales.... and so
Because the Missile is a French made missile fielded by both France and the UK under different names..
Views vs likes does not make sense?
A lot of people are getting rich off of the ukraine war.
We Russians have already lost and theres nothing that we can do about it.
A messages from the recent past:
Ukrain LOST and Stormshadow was old tech 10yr ago.
Iran and North Korea both allowed Russia to use their weapons in a defense war in Ukraine. With a stipulation that it won't be used on NATO countries. This leads to some complications because without their weapons Russia would have lost on the battlefield as they are not able to produce weapons of their own.
They are using EU money to expand their war production as they are in a 14% deficit just this year alone and owe the EU more than a trillion dollars.
After WMD in Iraq, chemical weapons in Syria? 😂😂😂😂Which Hollywood movie is this?
American war mongerers need creative story all the time.
8 Strom Shadows were fired at a Russian forward airbase 6 were shot down by missiles and close in guns on the Panthea System. Like the recent ATACMS strike on Russian Assets the Federation now has their guidance and radar cross sections that will enable their EWAR and physical defence systems to better detect incoming threats. Make no mistake, Russia has the lead on both Radar and EWAR capability despite what the press and the pentagon tell you.
You my friend see the truth but what really started the the Ukraine war I'm very sceptical that Ukraine is not the victim
Russia being kicked this long says they have no lead, their effectiveness cements they have dick

It's hilarious to use really old footage and pretend you have new "game changers" for ukraine after 2 years of failing with everything 😂
Your idea of failure is interesting.
It's not a game.
@hunterkincaid4972 show me one american "game changer" that won the civil war with Russia, I dare you too...if not winning, they are failures, please look up the meaning of failures.
@@tylerdurden4006 again, your definitions are interesting. The Russians are failing by your definitions because they haven’t accomplished their original objectives. If the tech and weapons sent to the Ukraine were sent to ensure Ukraine doesn’t lose, then the weapons and tech are succeeding in accomplishing that goal. Those weapons and tech fail when Ukraine loses the war. So by your logic, they are not failing.
@hunterkincaid4972 I didn't say anything about Russian "game changers" please learn how to f**king read.
So does this mean Europe will step up for Ukraine so we can stop pissing away my tax dollars?

Russia is now turning the tide
Shrug just an EU tomahawk knockoff.....
Saying Storm Shadow is just a Tomahawk knock-off is like saying the US Ford Class Carriers are just knockoffs' of HMS Argus. There have been many improvements and refinements. Storm Shadows replacement (FC/ASW) will be on a whole new-level. Stealthier, longer-range, more-accurate, dynamic target selection, swarming...
The Storm Shadow and Tomahawks have nothing in common, be it its shape (storm shadow stealth, tomahawk no stealth) its guidance (tomahawk no IR imaging) or it’s launch platform (tomahawk is a naval launched cruise missile). LRASM vs SCALP-EG/Storm Shadow is a more accurate comparison.
