Tyler Guyton is from manor Tx. A GOOD little suburb around Austin Tx. He will grow. Great pick!
Lomb-Broaddus on a Friday 🔥
Voch: "I like Guyton a bunch."
Bona-fide company man and I respect it! 😂💪🏾
Lol In his defense- he did say later he needed work, but initially that comment was pretty alarming when he said it😂
@@gregwendt2308 i said that?? lol
Damn Voch - when you gonna sleep? Putting in that work. Thanks!
Ready to go out and get some gangstas day 2. Round 1 is fun and all but 2 and 3 are where the teams either make or break their draft
Especially since we got an extra early 3
Facts
Just not a literal boss man fat ganster drive by shooter
Yes lawd
Brooks looks like its almost a sure thing if he makes it to us, unless they gamble that hes there a few picks later in round three.
he's so right #73 pick will be the deciding factor on whether that trade was a good deal.
Agreed - had a disagreement on this exact point with some Blogging the Boys posters who said its a win regardless of what they do with the pick, with which I strongly disagree. For example, there was some spitballing that Cowboys would use that to trade up to get Brooks, in which case it's a total loss.
guyton being good or not is definitely the deciding factor , we used a first round pick on him which is way more then #73 , i believe he will develop into a great left tackle
I wonder how close Barton and Guyton were on their board. If they were close then trade back makes sense.
73 is icing on the cake because knowing the Cowboys they likely would have just drafted Guyton at 24th over Barton anyway if they couldn’t move back.
If guyton doesn't pan out it was a failure.
Voch earned a subscriber here.. wow I am very impressed by this thought process about every topic discussed here. Right in-line with my thinking which has to be correct.. right? hah. Great work
Voch! 5+ year lurker here, the Guyton pick has me HYPED! To me, this means they are going to keep Tyler Smith at Guard. If we pick Barton, we probably get the better player. But the question then becomes who do you like better, TJ Bass or Chuma Edoga. I think the cowboys would choose Bass and move Tyler Smith out to tackle. I trust Duke Manyweather’s opinion of Tyler Smith, and lets be grateful we made the right decision to keep him at guard.
The big thing the film fails to show Guyton doing is whoopin people in the run game. But if we put him next to Tyler Smith (And hopefully put Frazier at center) we gonna be aight! 2nd and 3rd round have much better centers than there are tackles. I would hate the picks to have been Brooks at 24 and Patrick Paul in round 2.
TLDR: Guyton pick means Tyler Smith plays his best position and means we don’t pick up Patrick Paul in the 2nd round
OG Bryan and Big Voch. LET'S GO DAY 2 BABY!!!
never expected to see this match up. voch making big moves congrats man!
Good point Brian - the issue for me wasn't trading away from Barton, but trading away from Arnold. The trade was a big win on the trade chart, but trading away from the best corner in the draft and a borderline top 10 talent feels really weird.
I dont know who the best corner is, but I do get where youre coming from in terms of Guyton being further down the line in terms of tackle.
There is upside to Guyton that some ranked ahead of him dont have, but I think id like a lil more of a sure thing in the first round. I know nothing is a sure thing in terms of the draft, but this kid is green at RT, and hes got three months to not only overcome that, but switch sides of the line to be blocking some of the baddest edges in pro football?
Its a lot to ask of a kid for a roster that you think of as win now, with what the Jones' thinks is a contender THIS year.
Fingers crossed, but I think Guyton will be a year or two until hes first round worthy.
It’s luxury they don’t have though. I wish they could have been in that position to take Arnold but they had such a horrendous draft last year and have done an awful job with player contracts and free agency they lost that luxury.
@@dogger37JC Truth.
Good info.
We ate our veggies in day 1. Now in day 2 we get the meat and sides to complete the meal
I could listen to these two all day!!!
Cooper in rd 3 bby💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Wus good voch n cowboy nation
Steelers fan here. They’re not looking at Fautanu as a center. He’s gonna be tackle. Dan Moore likely getting benched. Not to mention, JPJ & Frazier is still available.
How about Benson at 56 and Van Pran at 73?
If Benson there it should be a must imo
We're not wasting a pick on running back that high
This is what I want today. If we don't trade back again... If this happens we Destroyed this draft.
#56 Zack Frazier/JPJ, if gone then Edgerin Cooper/ Peyton Wilson
#73 T'Vondrea Sweat/Cooper Beebe if you miss out on Frazier or JPJ in the 2nd.
#87 Jaylen Wright/ Jonathan Brooks
You got one of your choices
@freddyvidz Maybe 2. Who knows I could def see us using some of our Comp picks this year and Next year to try to trade back into the 4th so we can go get Jaylen Wright and really solidify this Draft and give us our Future Conerstone Superstar RB.
so glad to see you say Puni...he's the discount Graham Barton. Big physical tackle that will be a G or C (hopefully C for Dallas) in the NFL.
I don’t know about Solari, but in Duke we trust!
Hi voch lombardi 👋
Javon baker at 87 I will be super happy
Voch, love everything you and the crew do, I was wondering do you think Duke can fix some of Guyton's weaknesses
Center 1 is still on the board. I'm hoping and praying he gets to us. JPJ is special
I'd love Frazier too
(short bus special it sounds like😅)
@RyTrapp0 yeah, there's definitely something going on with him where teams are shying away from him. I do wonder if his wonderlic came back real low or if teams just didn't feel like he had a high enough football IQ to read nfl defenses.
No Frazier.
@@justinoswalt9028 Yea, such a bummer to hear about a player with that tape. I know it's probably dumb - but man I'm really hoping they're wrong, snag him in the 3rd somehow(...the rest of the league thinks he's a dummy?😂), and he turns out to be elite LOL. I'm praying damn it!
Broaddus!!
Hope we go Center/LB/RB today doesn’t matter what order but that’s what I’d like to see
Yes. He was on the couch getting a nap.
That was Brian Broaduss, I thought he was Benny Hill…lol
where is richards? or the other OT's they drafted recently (the one with the shoulder)
That was the whole gist of trade down not to really get Guyton but to get the xtra 3rd. Guyton was a need that had to be filled.
Let’s go Cowboys!!!
So there’s anywhere from 15-18 first round grades five or take every year. How many second round grades are there year to year on average? Is there a chance we get value of 2 second round rated players and 1 third because of the trade? That would be good in theory if they hit on these 4 picks inside the top 87 players available.
Guy ton is huge and has traits. He lacks the nuance, but in Duke I trust..
I could not say this statement any better! Duke is our X Factor.
If Christian Haynes can play center I would consider drafting him.
Would it be possible to use some of the R5/6/7/7 picks to move up into R4?? I miss watching Gallup with his high pointing toe tapping moves! I'd like to see another one on the field.
Also, Voch, one of your mods blocked me last night. I was with you guys for almost 2 1/2 hours and got blocked. The only reason I could think of is I said I thought the pick was going to be Guyton. It was just an opinion not a spoiler. I understand your mods are just looking out for you guys, but I'm not sure if it was justified.
Probably not. You'd have to likely give up your 4 next year.
Im so with Bryan. I think Marshawn Lloyd is every bit as good as any of these RBs. And could be had in the 4th, maybe 5th.
I'm telling y'all we can get Jase McClellan on day 3 and he's going to be just as good if not better than those other Rbs and he doesn't have any injury history or a lot of miles on his legs. Keep picking for need or trade back and get more picks because we have so many needs. For today I'd like a center and linebacker or defensive tackle but definitely center at 52
🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
Is benson going to be there in the 3rd?
🙏🏾Jerry don't trade ⬆️keep the 2 extra picks we can get a RB late 2nd or 3rd
Love the trade back. Lions are in a good position where it was worth it for them to go get their guy and give up the pick. They had to be elated when the Eagles passed up on Arnold. I was shocked Howie didn’t take an Alabama player 😂😂😂 Cowboys desperately needed to add a pick and 73 is better than anyone could have expected.
What are they doing taking Liufau at 87, good player but could have gotten him at 125 and gained a pick. I would have taken Peyton Wilson, Cedric Gray, Tommie Eichenberg, Ty'Ron Hopper, Tyrice Knight, Curtis Jacobs, Nathaniel Watson over him if LB is the position they wanted.
Id just love to know if they would have taken Morgan instead of Guyton if both were there after the trade back.
Do we trust Brock Hoffman to take over as our starting center? If so, we dont need to draft a center and it opens up a LOT of options on day 2.
I like him and the bass but I still think taking a center(especially if joj or frazier on there) is a better option
There are still good C left.
I’m fine with brooks at 56 but don’t trade up for him. If he’s gone take Payton Wilson, Frazier, Trey benson, edggerin cooper, or just whoever is the bpa.
Unless Richard is further along than we know, I say we coach Guyton up and throw him in the line of fire. It may take half the season to get him up to speed, but I bet he does better on his worst day than anyone else on the roster.
First round pick you have no choice but to get threw in the fire imo
Wait till We get to 2 and 3 We're going to get some Dogs
Would like to know the story on JPJ hard pass?
Exactly Voch my BamaBoy Terrion Arnold or Kool-aid
Question: Oklahomas qb is left handed so guyton was blocking the blind side. Does that help his transition to left tackle?
that is a great question
No because the challenge has nothing to do with if it’s the QB’s blind side as much as shifting weight and protection. Footwork and hand placement will be a challenging shift for him but 2 years he will be a beast. This year won’t be our year we need to eat some dead money regain some cap health sign our big 3 next season and keep drafting and building
Not really it's more about footwork and his outside step but he played some lt as well
BB is guyton a Jason Peters 2.0?
Former TE...
Vosch wassup Bro . I hope that is the chap stick you're wearing that's making you look like that?
105.3 must pay for real internet
Dallas needs at least 1-2 edge rushers this weekend too we have little to no depth at all
Heat
I think they like Bass as a center, if one drops sure, but get Ceedee a legitimate #2.
Voch you owe Foots an apology. Brian said the exact same thing as Foots about the trade and pick 73.
Anyone see mike zimmer in the war room??
Day 1 was a pick on offense.
Let's get frazier/jpj or Corley/coleman today
Amen to grabbing Benson.
Gotta change that title up...getting Guyton at 29 is NOT the same as if we had gotten him at 24 without additionally getting a top 100 player out of it. Would definitely be hating on this pickup way more if we had just taken him with the 24.
Another pick in the top 100 doesn't make Guyton any more ready to go for this season
@@RyTrapp0 I never said that. I said the title should change because it's inaccurate and the discussion of taking him at 24 isn't the same as taking him at 29 after Barton is gone and getting an additional pick. You were probably here talking trash on Tyler getting picked up. Let the cake bake.
The sweetener pick definately helps, but not just because of the pick you gained, but also because of who else we would have left on the board HAD we taken Guyton at 24.
2nd rd grab Wilson LB he’s Sean Lee 2.0
Tyler smith had more pop coming off. Guyton gone get with Duke
I respect the tape watching. But we took Tyler Smith and they hadn't even watched the tape. And when they did all they could say it was mid and he holds all the time. So I will see how he looks come preseason.
Lb, dt, running back. Next 3 picks
We should trade down again with our 2nd round pick and pick up a 4 or 5 and then draft a wr with the 2nd round pick
Meh
Cedric Gray
Jaylen Wright
Zach Frazier
Do you think the Cowboys are ready to not have a good season this year for a higher pick next year and draft a qb?
Only if Dak is giving signs he’s entering free agency
Trade back again and gain another 4th rounder
Do we go after Payton Wilson though?
Brooks set up for benson
I just want Benson. Please football gods!
If it wasnt for the lions overpaying id be so mad right now barton is gonna be a day1. I hope we get jpj or frazier then id love corum and a lb
No injury prone players
We could’ve took Arnold if we took free agency seriously.
If they want a DT, DeWayne Carter is a great prospect.
They’re going to grab Brooks and I wish AD Mitchell
Tyler Smith got asswhoop..Guyton is more finesse
That's a lie LOL he played against parson everyday along with D-LAW
And you can pull up the old videos and parson said himself once Tyler gets his hands on you it's over
Nice try bro but no cigar okay
@@dappergents3743 what are you talking about. He literally said Tyler Smith has asswhoop. Maybe read what he said over again. Smh
@dappergents3743 I think you need to re-read. He basically said Smith is a nasty power player and Guyton is finesse. I can't stand finesse on a lineman who's 6'7" 320 pounds.
Voch loves the word hyperbolic or hyperbole. Relax we get it you learned an SAT word.
Voch is never satisfied
Most fans aren’t
Voch doesn’t like Guyton.
PLEASE NO TE
🚨Would they trade down again????
If the board stacks like round one and multiple guys they want are available.
I just don’t like that Guyton is such a finesse player and needs so much technical refinement, but he’s already 23 and the same age as Tyler and will be 25 by the time he’s in the same development stage as Tyler Smith is now at 23.
Age isn't a huge problem for O line. They tend to play a bit longer.
@@gabrielcarrasco9078 like I said it’s not a huge deal, but for a developmental Olinemen it’s different because a guy like Suamataia was available was 2 years younger, almost as athletic, even stronger with ability to be a guard and that would make more sense to me.
Jump the wagon later media scouts 😊
I think continuing to say, I wish this or that is just silly. We drafted Guyton and that's it. Move on.
and now we know the 73 paid off....hell beebe may end up better than barton by himself
They need to bring back Gilly on a 2-year deal and put blend back in the slot
I agree
Who told you they loved Barton that's all in your head it meant they had to move Tyler to tackle it was always a tackle period the bs you guys come up with
Guyton is a reach
It’s time for Will Mcclay to get fired. All the cowboys do is draft slightly above average players who the cowboys end up having to pay but don’t move the needle. We keep drafting players that will win us 11 games a year and get Jerry his ratings throughout the season but nobody that will get us to win a superbowl when it really matters.
We need someone who’s going to take some swings and not just play it safe with safe players with low ceilings. We will win 10 games again this year and lose in the playoffs like every year.
We are officially the UTAH jazz in the Donovan Mitchell era if that makes sense. Win 45 games a year and lose in the second round every year. Going to be that way for a long time
No. Just, no.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You can't win consistently by drafting bad players so your argument makes no sense. Dallas has drafted better than most teams since McClay has been here. Who's the last bad offensive lineman the cowboys have drafted in the first round?
Just some goats hanging out
