Great. He was on this 70,000 boat trip a while ago. Good to see it is the same band- except for the drummer?-that he has been with for several years before Covid. At Rockpalast their set was stunning. Beautiful version of the sky guitar.
I can only claim since...well, 1979 is about right! I was halfway through college. Scorpions, and Rush, were always part of my weekend psychedelic journeys.
I've seen UJR live, also performing this song ("playing" doesn't quite cover it), and it is still absolutely brilliant.... The only thing I'm missing is thát intense shriek / scream from the Tokyo Tapes version at the end of his solo. How exactly he managed thát is still quite a mystery to me, but luckily some of that Uli magic can be seen here 😎👍
Aside from having an excellent voice and using it well, his bass player is a really top shelf player....pick & fingers depending on sequence - good complimentary tone and stays in his lane.
And he’s just being a team player, as he’s really an incredible guitarist playing bass on this tour! His name is Niklas Turmann. Usually, he’s ripping three-way harmonies with Uli and the other guitarist, David Klosinski. Check out his band, Crystal Breed. Top notch German prog rock. ✌🏼
@fransnilsson7333 I think Michael wrote a few songs on Fly to the Rainbow that Uli performed, but Michael was composing for UFO when Taken by Force was being recorded....Plus Uli explains many times in interviews how he created Sails of Charon. Herman Rarebell also create a few songs on TBF.
Magnifico !!!
Man...Ulrich Roth's still got it! \m/
I remember when the Scorps first came to Chicago...they played at Navy Pier. I think that was 1979....What a treat!
Dude can still get down....
Masterclass. 🤩It was pure bliss Thanks for the upload :)

Uli der müde Krieger mit dem eisernen willen
Like Uli on a strat.
agree. he's focused on the guitar knobs more then on his playing. still am a fan but prefer M.Schenker from this area

Wonder if the whales are reacting to this.
I trick he could be good with a real guitar. A Fender may be ...
@@christophedelvaux8881- What do you mean by “a real guitar”? Uli’s guitars are the most advanced in existence.
