Hey sorry bud I did NOT get a push notification for your comment. I just recent had one yesterday, that is the only reason I saw this. Thanks for stopping over. Again my apologies.
Thanks for watching. I have a few different grills but this one will be busy this year with grad and bday parties assuming the country isnt locked down still. I will post some things showing how it holds up. Let me know if there are any particular things that you would like to have focused on during a cook, for this big one or any of the smaller ones that i have. Fyi this rotisserie was done on the grill side of the trailer and not the smoker. Doing it the way that I did it this day consumes a lot of fuel.
Hey D! I can appreciate the effort you put into this. Did you say....a labor of love....Yes it is! 👍 I liked the set up......fire on both sides and the drip pan underneath. But yes.....you had your hands full with some smokey splits. But like you said later in the Vid......your taste of it wasn't smokey. 👍 Did you figure out what was going on to why you had the extra smoke? Doesn't really matter when you get an end product with awesome color and tenderness like that bird had. Thanks for doing this video in your stick burner ........I watched and I get it! 🔥👍 You are going into my favorite channel list. True Que my Brother........Smoke On! 🔥
Hey Ken I really appreciate those words brother! Us stick burners have to STICK together 😂😂 Seriously all bad jokes aside I appreciate it man. I believe the culprit behind the thick smoke was possibly wet charcoal ash that didnt drop below the grate. I rearranged the logs and dropped some of the ash down and it cleared up a bit. I called myself using a bed of briquettes to expedite the hot coal base but it backfired on that side. I gave out samples and it was a big hit. I have a few orders for some holiday turkeys done this way. Im going to try to duplicate it in the smoker to see if I get the same result since i will have so many birds to do. If not... I'll be pulling an all nighter doing 2 birds at a time on the rotisserie set up. Btw I knew it was only a matter of time before you got a thermostat type control on your mod. I enjoyed that last video. Its like its own series amd we are watching it develop right before us. Keep it up my man. You have a lot of us intrigued on how far you can go with it. Take care!
Looking for it and checking it out...
