Jordan Caiola (CAI•OLA) is a songwriter/musician/producer based out of Philadelphia. He founded the indie rock band Mo Lowda & The Humble in 2010 and due to its intense touring schedule, the band became his main priority along with his side project NightSeason (founded 2016)- an indie/electro-pop producer duo. Though he always felt writing folk songs was his true “wheelhouse”, it wasn’t until the nationwide lockdown in early 2020 that he finally put aside the time to record a collection of those songs for his first solo album ‘Only Real When Shared’. Now, Caiola tours year-round with both Mo Lowda and his solo project. His second solo record, entitled 'This Could Be Everything', is set to be released August 2nd, 2024.

It is actually pretty much true to the original progression but played with a capo at 2nd fret and both E strings dropped to D. It is basically D, Bm, G and Em with an A added in the chorus. The D in the verse is 1st inversion shape but the open D and A strings in the bass make for a reg D chord. The A chord in the verse goes to a form of sus chord I can’t remember the name of but you could just think of it as Bm7/A. Pretty easy to work out the chord placement but very hard to get the feel and timing of the rhythm, he really nails it.
Thank you! No this makes perfect sense. Appreciate it, I didn’t think of it being in drop d, but that’s why it sounded off. I guess in the future I should consider alternate tunings when I know I’m playing nearly the same chords and they sound off

Does anyone know the chords on the 7th and 4th frets? Are these just the root and rest muted or is this the top two strings barred or more of a shell chord? Having trouble hearing/ seeing what he is doing here. Thanks!
Pretty sure it's drop D and the 7th fret chord is 5th and 6th string 7th fret, 4th string 6th fret. Then the chord on the 4th fret is just 4,5,6. I think the other chords or shapes are D with open 1st string plus 4th string 6th fret. Bm with open 1st string and an Asus. Not sure that all makes sense but it sounds right when I play it. Also sounds like he has the strings muted with tape by the bridge.

Dude, put the capo on the 2nd fret, but leave the E string open. Works for D on 2nd fret, and works for C on 4th fret… I’m sure im not the first person to do it, but I came up with it on my own,… changed my music life 100%
