I've always had an issue with you not killing in basic. If a shape should be killed the basic move is to kill it. I think it would actually be against basics to not kill a shape that deserves to be killed unless it is a really convoluted way of getting the kill with a lot of reading. But if it's a simple situation there's no reason not to kill

Re “don’t kill in basics” maybe applies to kyu level basics. But for dan level games a simple shape point as seen is basic.

F4 isn't basic, it's just bad. Even ddk can notice that cut doesn't work because of net or ladder so why bother?
