The music of Broken Vow was co-composed by Walter Afanassiev and Lara Fabian, inspired by a classic piece of Rachmaninoff (Piano Concerto N°2 in C Minor). Walter Afanassiev, an american/brazilian from russian descent, is a legendary composer and producer (he composed some of the greatest initial hits of Mariah Carey such as All I Want for Christmas is You and was the producer of the Titanic soundtrack that brought Celine Dion to WW fame). He is also now the producer of Dimash for his US career. When this song was composed, Walter and Lara were engaged, but apparently he cheated and she decided to break up. When she took this decision, that she knew would dramatically change both her personal and professional destiny, she wrote these incredible lyrics. Lara has said this is her preferred english song from all the songs she wrote in this language (there are many, and some are pure jewels). One reason is also because this song has then been covered by the greatests: - Barbra Streisand (she performed it in concerts from one of her tour but never recorded it), - Josh Groban (his cover made this song famous in US), - Morissette Amon, - Cakra Khan, - Regine Velasquez, - Almira (from 4th Impact), - Katrina Velarde, - Julie Anne San Jose, - Sarah Geronimo, - Petra Berger, - Harrison Craig, - Rimar, - Jackie Evancho (in AGT), - … Regarding Jackie Evancho, and at the request of Jackie's parents who found the original lyrics were not a good fit for a young girl, Lara rewrote Broken Vow in french as "Imaginer" with a complete different meaning.
A beautiful strong velvety voice and a strong song here . Her presence on her performances can be called minimalistic. Fabian does not have backup dancers. She wears a strict simple dress code, light makeup, and a minimum number or usualy no of pieces of jewelry on stage. Nu flashy fingernails, Lara is all natural. .....Her unique 4.1-octave voice (lyric soprano) and her emotional performances are the only things that the audience receives.
Yes, she just doesn't need any of that stuff. She is very beautiful and as soon as she comes out and starts to sing, nothing else is required. One of a kind. When she leaves this world, if God has a trophy case, you can bet she will be in it!
She wrote You are not from here when she was in love with Walter Afanassiev and living with him in San Francisco and Broken Vow when she broke. Interesting enough I have seen some videos of the studio recording of this song and he was conducting the orchestra. I loved your reaction and agree with you about the peace she made: it sounds to me even more a self-forgiveness than a simple forgiveness sent to him, she is talking here more in her head, closing a chapter and trying to move on.
Love Lara ❤
Love from Denmark ❤
She has one of the most gorgeous voices I’ve ever heard. Great selection! “ Caruso” and “ Adagio” are my favorites by her.
I believe I have reacted to both of those songs..should be in my playlist for Lara.
@@youmaderoskoe thanks!
Quite simply one of the greatest voices in pop music and moreover, a very beautiful woman!! 😍
Happy New Year Roskoe 🙏
