It's so easy for people to criticize, you don't see the struggle they had to go through to reach the position they are in today. It's not just the male actor's world anymore. A Deepika or Anushka or Priyanka or Kangana have worked hard to get to where they are today. They are calling shots. Their names are announced first, the male co-stars later. They are powerful, now, it was not that case few years back. So instead of always criticizing and pitting women against each other, celebrate them. Yaa, others could have done that role too, but DP , who has been categorized as beautiful, stunning, adds a more gravitas to the actual misconception about outward beauty. It can create a much larger impact

She’s definitely opened up and become much more candid, genuine and less guarded and diplomatic in her interviews since she got married. It’s actually really lovely to see. The first interview of hers that I’ve enjoyed in a very long time! I noticed the same thing happen in both Aishwarya and Kareena once they became mothers. Full respect to her for being open in saying she started to spiral and needed her counsellor while shooting this movie. That helps so many of us - to hear that someone in her position and living her life is capable of feeling depressed again despite how ‘perfect her life is’ to people watching.
Deepika is good in movies that don’t require much from her , SLB has a good reputation but he presents her to be so white and teary eyed all the time . Her best performances have been Piku, OSO and YJHD , I think she might surprise us with this movie , fingers crossed

Was skeptical to watch this cause Deepika used to be bubbly etc but it's good she has become serious for this cause duh, it's a serious film. The mirror scene is not at all Powerful as Rajiv says. It is like in a horror movie. Please watch the same scene in UYAREE . It is the audience who feels the pain . Not a single scene ,a single dialogue out of place. All characters as important as Parvati. Excellent Script . Direction out of the world. All the Best for Chappak too .
Apart from the acid attack part, i think the stories and character growth is completely different. Uyare was about a girl with undying courage to pursue her personal career goal whereas Chapaak or Laxmi's story is more about a personal journey and life. Uyare was a story of extraordinary girl with extraordinary career choices whereas Chapaak is about a ordinary girl pursuing the supposedly 'ordinary/normal' love life.
Every person is unique. She doesn’t have to copy uyare. Audience should have that much maturity to understand and accept another girl or victim who has different mannerisms.
