Jeez, listening to this just absorbed me into the content and I completely forgot he's no longer with us. Now I'm sad. *Dead Cells just officially released, and I came here from the curator link which nobody's commented on since 2017. Really glad he's still featured as recommending it after all this time.
@Bode Brayden Imagine bots crawling youtube and commenting about a scam site any chance they get. And imagine UA-cam removing the ability to moderate replies to your comments, so I can't remove this filth stain from an emotional situation. Humanity continues to show how ugly it can be.
I was never what I'd call one of the more highly fixated TB fans. Only watched occasional vids, when they seemed interesting/relevant to my gaming. Now he's gone, It's hit me harder than I thought it would, and I'm going back and watching things I never got into when I thought there would regularly be more Biscuit videos. He will be greatly missed.
This is what I loved about John. Making your fans miss you is easy, it's natural. Making someone who only watches occasionally miss you is another thing entirely.
Ah, thanks. I had seen this months ago and just randomly decided to re-watch it with Dead Cells coming out. I hadn't made it very far in when I saw that comment and asked that, lol.
I just discovered both Dead Cells and TotalBiscuit in the same day and my life is better for the both... thanks for the great content, TB. And maybe you be infinitely progressing in the procedurally generated afterlife.
@@truegamer_007 I'm not here to start a fight, but Hades is very far from roguelikes. Now, it is an incredibly good rogue-lite, and it will undoubtedly impact future games with rogue-lite elements, but as a fan of both rogue-likes and rogue-lites, I wish people would stop mixing the terms. Not to be offensive, but did you even watch this video? TB did a fairly good job of explaining the terms, even if I don't completely agree with his "3 pillars of rogue-lite". As TB said, rogue-like is a genre of a very specific type of game, and rogue-lite is not a genre. It merely describes games that take some, but not most of the elements of rogue-like games.
What just happened right now. Dead Cells 1.0 is out on steam, I click on the link, I immediately like it and think: "I think TB would've been all over it, who knows what he would've thought of it."scroll down a little and find his words down there in the curators area, click on the link and here we are, I had watched this video but totally forgot about it. I can safely say that question will stick with me for a long time if not ever.
Was looking for input on Dead Cells and came about this video recommended on Steam of all places, but wow, this is still very valid, thankfully some games used Dead Cells as a design guidline but not all of them, the industry has gone to shit as enticipated, Blizzard is now a milking cow company and xbox might die soon, man I wish you where here, just telling them to stfu and do their job as CEO's etc, you know, take care of your customers and they will take care of you... To get back to the subject, it's a very valid critisism of the genra and the approach a lot of company have on it, and also as a French, it makes me proud for once
never liked him. Pretty sure he spent more times in the settings than he did playing them. You’d think someone who is so into presentation would have interesting vids but it’s him talking with random shit and he bores the shit out of me. Reminds me of a video game version of those narcissistic shits like Sargon and ArmourmedSkeptic. They can all suck my ass. Jim Sterling is my guy.
I wish he knew how much we all miss him. Rest easy mate, you were brilliant.
There's nobody who can fill your shoes John, you were truely one a of kind.
I was watching another video on the topic when I remembered that this one existed and was probably infinitely better. RIP.
Man, haven't stumbled upon a TB video in quite a long time. It's nice to hear his voice again, even if it's listening to old content. RIP John.
I think TB would have really enjoyed Hades. I hope he's getting to play it in the Hereafter. Rest in Peace, John.
Still remains one of the best works on this subject. Rest in peace John, you are greatly missed.

Totalbiscuit lives within us all, Simba.
life happens, soon we will all suffer the same fate. John just took the express lane.

Damn i miss this dude and his insights, RIP
I started playing Dead Cells a few weeks ago... I love this game, and seeing that TB did a brief review, made my eyes water...
May I ask where this review resides? It doesn't seem to be anything that is available on UA-cam based on my search. I'd love to know his take on it.
He talks about Dead Cells at 41:56

I wonder what he would have said about Hades by Supergiant Games? I wonder if he would have liked it?
I was just about to comment this. It's a pity he never got to see the highs that Hades took the roguelike genre to.

Fucking great video.
Dead Cells X Castlevania. He really would have liked what Dead Cells is now.
His most recent game recommended on the Steam curators. RIP.
I thought Spelunky was the first rougelite.
Idiots lives wise man gone. Sad for society.
