T1 after Faker's return was essentially a wild card team, there wasn't much data of them coming into POs, while the data against their match vs DK was unreliable. T1 was definitely reactionary that series, but tbh, half of the time I had no idea what DK was doing that series aside from actively running it down. If I was T1 back there, I'd do the same too and let DK do their thing. Whereas, HLE was more known and quantifiable, and had less variance in terms of peak. KT had much lower chances losing to HLE than T1, but they still risked choosing T1 anyway when the obvious safer choice was to leave T1 to GenG and gather more data on the team.

I think the Rell Jungler answer is straight up Sion flex into Sion jungle. Gives you top counterpick, your clears aren't that much slower and you win scuttle by virtue of having a load more stats level 4 and mega outscale Rell as a tank. Only downside is your ganks aren't amazing without setup, but you can hit lanes up a level and then you're just Sion who has really high base AD and already 140 hp from w stacks at 3:30. Basically you just handshake tanks and know that you're always the better tank in midgame fights. 20 minutes you're probably 2 items 4k hp and the Rell just can't match you 1v1 or in anything except engaging (her team can't walk past you anyway).
Game one, I think Faker goes in because he knows it's fucked. If they recover it could only be from a surprise engage that gets them a fistfight. I think people underestimate that as a tool actually, when you're very behind. It feels like ninety-nine percent of games like that the team that's very behind ends up losing even if they try to slow the game down. Sometimes you may as well go for something ridiculous because any sensible option at best prolongs your loss and tilts your players.

Basically you just handshake tanks and know that you're always the better tank in midgame fights. 20 minutes you're probably 2 items 4k hp and the Rell just can't match you 1v1 or in anything except engaging (her team can't walk past you anyway).

Game one, I think Faker goes in because he knows it's fucked. If they recover it could only be from a surprise engage that gets them a fistfight. I think people underestimate that as a tool actually, when you're very behind. It feels like ninety-nine percent of games like that the team that's very behind ends up losing even if they try to slow the game down.
Sometimes you may as well go for something ridiculous because any sensible option at best prolongs your loss and tilts your players.

Also this loss is a very good thing for KT. Double marksman comps have become the new norm that teams gotta have an understanding of how to play. The fact that they lost game 5 on it will make em practice with bdd on a mage like azir or neeko.
If they pick double marksman again against Gen G or Hanhwa then imma hope they lose on it bc reliance on such a comp is not good for any region. Even pseudo cop outs like jayce Kaisa doesn’t feel good.
