Waltz is such a strange character actor. He is always able to portray repulsive people effortlessly with a taught line. Of course Redgrave is a brilliant and bizarre actress full of surprises. Her sense of grinning lunacy that has allowed her to fly through the weirdest roles with total suspension of any disbelief to the viewer never ceases to amaze. Benning uses her dead pan, always wry, deep voiced style to be both a character actress and a leading lady. Through that diaphanous cape she is always capable of gossamer range. This story is a very intense one and the film looks incredible.

I almost didn’t watch this movie because it only had 58% on rotten tomatoes. Thank God I decided to watch it, brilliant film, excellent story and fabulous acting. 58% is an insult it’s more of a 99%. Also the real life guy is a very interesting character and I could watch a million stories about him
Great movie. Waltz, Bening and Redgrave, they all deliver. Interesting story too. Not designed to be a masterpiece of world cinema. It simply delivers what one would expect. Solid perfomances and good flow regarding the story. Bravo again Mr. Waltz.
