Once you hit 60 the game basically becomes a job with obligations and everything else and that just isn't fun to me. I remember hitting 60 on my Rogue back in 2005 and joining a raiding guild and within a couple of months I realized that I just didn't enjoy playing anymore. I ended up making a few alts and if I had just stuck with my 60 rogue I would have quit the game much faster.

Hardcore is not difficult. It just takes a shit ton of patience and grind and restraint to not pull more than 1 mob and to not do elites and epics etc. until u're really overgeared and overlevelled. Literally anyone on the planet can be given the instructions on what to do and as long as u take it reaaaaaally slow u'll never die. But its boring as fuck compared to retail.

Also the servers would probably buckle under the stress of the sheer amount of people joining cause x streamer did. Not knocking liking the game really but its very much not a new player friendly community and would not be fun for stream content cause they aren't looking for a super punishing hardcore experience, hardcore WoW is very manageable by comparison.

They're on the right path as far as the game is concerned and there isn't any super egregious decisions like what was being made in Legion/BFA/Shadowlands. The only common criticism is people thinking the story fell off, but story was never some major draw to WoW to begin with.
i'm not an asmon expert, but i do know that no matter what level he is, the world chat will be filled with people asking and getting invites into his instance of the world just to stalk him, and even if most of those idiots are literally only harrassing him, there are so many that some are also huge trolls and griefers. he's not joking when he says he would ruin it for others. he might also not want to play it for other reasons, but the latter doesn't invalidate the former.

Nah, Asmon's viewers are sometimes rabid dogs. I don't think Asmon has levelled a character in WoW legitimately since before streaming. They will follow him 24/7 even if he asks them to stop. He will tell them to leave him alone, falsely report them, and encourage his chat to report them as well (which is against TOS). He can't win either way, so it is best to avoid the situation altogether.

I would 100% play a 14x leveling speed HC server - if you could level really fast and then get to playing hc in raids (like say how fast diablo 3 leveling was (is?) in recent years). i don't want to spend days and days leveling, die, and then regret having spent my time because my character is dead. if i wasted a day, ok, fine - that's far less annoying.
Have you tried it before assuming how you would feel about it? I had the same opinion as you but I still leveled and died, 5-6 times. I didn't even get to raid but I still enjoyed every second of it. Killer dungeons should be Guild Only for safety: Sunken Temple, SFK?, Uldaman, possibly BRD, and the lvl 60 dungeons. Also, that’d make for better content since those instances can go to shit in a second of chaos ensues. Also, dungeon guides will speed things up while keeping things safe.

It's not just that, unlike most if not all of the streamers and there fanboys in onlyfangs and fangsly asmon ran a mega guild of 15+ guilds and when normal hard-core came out he ran roach out. Along side doing transmog comps. He's done almost everything he wanted to do. If he doesn't want to play then let him do this thing.
Plus as guild leader of olympus he had to deal with ninja looters, the devilsaur mafia, price fixing , guilds going rouge, advertise stalking his movements, guild drama. Etc

Don't get me wrong- I think asmon's takes on the game these days are out of touch and incredibly wrong, but let's not forget- when he wants to be, Asmon is a pretty decent gamer.
Additionally, I'm not gonna sit here and act like classic wow takes ANY skill whatsoever.
If asmon wanted to, he would make a character offstream with some weird name, blast to higher levels, THEN start his stream for onlyfangs.

Hardcore you can get all your time ripped out of your hands by some moron player, and he is also usually a target for a lot of stream snipers, and even beyond that we have DC problems. I agree with him. If you have to play against the game and against their players, it becames too much of a burden. Maybe that is the reason.. idk

Killer dungeons should be Guild Only for safety: Sunken Temple, SFK?, Uldaman, possibly BRD, and the lvl 60 dungeons. Also, that’d make for better content since those instances can go to shit in a second of chaos ensues. Also, dungeon guides will speed things up while keeping things safe.

Stop being emotionally invested in a 20 year old mmo and youll start to agree with what he says. I disagreed for a bit and then took a break from wow. Came back at the end of dragonflight after playing only classic for almost 2 years and now i get all his points. Almost everything he says aligns with how i and many long term players feel
@@retrorewind6042 im not nearly as emotionally invested in wow today and i think most of his points are dogshit, he wants to satisfy a version of the game he *thinks* people will enjoy, but in practices they’d be terrible for everyone who enjoys the game for what it is. Most vets who react to his takes also see right through him while needing to point out the obvious.

I think while there are some great expansions, everything after vanilla kind of went against what wow originally was and what made it good. Me and most of my friends watched asmons videos and agreed on almost all his points, none of us are really enjoying retail anymore because blizzard doesnt know what theyre doing

@@retrorewind6042 the stuff from vanilla changed for a reason: weapon skill sucked, it’s omega slow and even the most basic quest needs an excessive walk distance while you only get a mount at lvl 40. If vanilla was released today, without any of the legacy it had and a completely new game, it would get thwacked hard by FFXIV.
