"um... Ragnarok" - *laughs for about seventy years*
i actually don't get this part D:
Jillian Boyd oh please figure it out. You will have to do some reading but the laugh will be worth it. No one can ever explain it to you with just words.
Qianpin Lin I meant my reply to Jillian for you.
Same, those last two stories made my literally lol for the longest time xd
@@claralin8835 it's Pratchett, actually. i think. Teatime of the gods = Twilight of the gods = Götterdämmerung (this one is wagner) = Ragnarök. just translation :)
I had expected to enjoy this- as I expect to enjoy anything involving Neil Gaiman- but I had not expected the tears. Mirthful, mirthful tears. The boy named boy story read in that voice absolutely left me in stitches.
"Besides, the name wolf was already taken..." (incredibly long pause) "...by the tree."
...that *has* to be the same David Malki of 'Wondermark' fame.
That pause is the literal definition of "pregnant pause." He held that better than any comedian could have. And that story absolutely kills me every single time.
I actually kinda liked the one about the boring guy with the briefcase of boring papers.
sanityisrelative read Neverwhere by Neil then, that's what it was aping.
me too!
His delivery is impeccable!
Bad Neil Gaiman stories read by Neil Gaiman = Possibly good Neil Gaiman stories!
"(...)
by the tree."
By far the best moment!
That pause made it!
His reading of them makes them sooooo much better!!!
YES
tbf, he made a description of a old womans day in which nothing at all of interest happened sound interesting
I think the last one almost reads like a Bad Terry Pratchett.
"The boy's name was boy..." perfect
It may be Bad Gaiman, yet from his lips, everything sounds magical!
I couldn't breathe from laughing that I legit got scared--while laughing--that I would die from not breathing. I paused, took a deep breath, and continued laughing for eighty-five years.
Many of them are excellent parodies of the atmospheric lyric mythology nature of Neil Gaiman stories.
"...and the moon".
Love this so much. Not sure which is my favorite. Either the not-Neverwhere one with Brunhilde, or the Boy who's not named Wolf.
"David Malki from California" who wrote the one Gaiman said was his favorite, may be David Malki ! who does the webcomic Wondermark. The exclamation point is part of his name, which he says is an honorific like Jr. or PhD. but is not pronounced.
+Rick Wales You're right: wondermark.com/bad-gaiman/
I want to see Neil Gaiman played by Alan Rickman
Too late.
I want to see him being cast as Alan Rickman if a film about Alan's life ends up being made.
Gideon Hodges'shmong
Hmong
oh
oof
Actually, I want to see Alan Rickman played by Neil Gaiman.
Oddly. Neil reading them made the stories better
Man, I've written quite a few Gaiman-pastiches in the past few years, and I used to think they were Poor Man's Neil...until now.
It hurts to be so thoroughly seen, doesn’t it Neil? 😂😂😂 know that we love you
OH MY GOD NEIL GAIMAN IS WEARING A COLOUR OTHER THAN BLACK
Ragnarok has arrived. We're all doomed XD
That's the one thing I first noticed before the video title!
Neil reading anything, no matter how horrible is excellent. 😂😂😂
Those were really Gaiman-like. I wan't more.
I want to get the boy named boy framed. It is pure genius at imitating Gaiman.
The host is hilarious. What a great idea for a segment!
He's not just a masterful writer, he's also a brilliant reader!
Nope! That one killed me. lol
This is so good. Now we know where the candidates for the 2016 US Presidential Elections get their speech and debate scripts from.
Every single one of these is an absolute genius level story. They nailed his style and managed to also lampoon it. I love every single one of these stories. So much life in so few words.
As bad as these are, they are still delightful when Neil reads them.
" . . . by the tree."
Hey look, it's Alan Rickman and Paul Giamatti.
God damnit. Now I can't unsee it.
Never get tired of this!
It has everything I want and less.
I feel bad, I really want to read more of those XD
"......Nope"
Way to represent Minnesota!
Neil Gaiman= Cool Guy
these were actually pretty good xD
the problem is, though, the problem is that everything, everysinglething sounds good, just fine, really great, whenever he's reading it, so nothing it's actually bad
Like a hall of mirrors, but funnier. Spectacular.
I wish there was more, this is hilarious!
These are beautiful!
Damn! So much better than my bad Gaiman. Some of it terribly close to 'ok Gaiman'......which is, of course....bad Gaiman.
Oh goodness that was fantastic :)
Sounds like Professor Snape
Beautiful
4:38 So funny haha
This is amazing!
I liked one of the stories
Him reading these bas stories make them really good 😂
weird to see him not in someone's falafel
Nope.
HIS VOICE
Nope!
This has entirely too few likes.
He's a talented man who is as twisted up as a bag of corkscrews. Given recent allegations I can't enjoy him or his work anymore.
Is it bad or is it satire?
Either way it's good.
'brilliant writer'? What for the six people who still read books? lmao
Are you actually being serious?
Don't ever breed.
WTF dude
