Ex-AF and I hope no ground pounder ever has to depend on that thing for anything. If there is a bad way to make a military vehicle leave it to the French to figure out how to screw it up. No wonder they've been getting their asses kicked for the last four hundred or so years.
Old fashion, read military history. The Army has been working to build tanks that will safely float and not endanger the troops. Read about the sad story the floating tanks used on D-day. Thanks Jesus, dad was driving one of the normal tanks on D-day.
Didn't they know nobody wants to disembark from front because it becomes choke point for machine guns. Why do you think US military switched from lcvp and lcm to LVTs and lcacs as their primary beach landing craft. If this vehicle is advertised as second line support and supply amphibious vehicle then their is some merit as it does not have to stop at the beach and can resupply troops nearer to their aera of operation.
draconianwarking If it's sarcasm then lol otherwise no it doesn't there is a bow door in the passenger section and two turret hatches in the driving compartment with engine in the middle as he himself mentioned. This whole vehicle is basically a lcvp on tracks it's not good for disembarking under fire but when it comes to supply and reinforcement delivery after a beachead is secured as it removes steps involving transition from landing craft to transport vehicle for delivery it's really revolutionary.
Alex Weber USMC the only force which might be doing amphibious landing has conceptualized future landings as suppressing and destruction of enemy c4isr, weapons, supply etc followed by rapid landing by naval and air forces. But that likely to happen in first strike is very much unlikely considering the countries which might be facing it, if the landing force waits for complete suppression and destruction they might lose the initiative as the enemy might bring it's backup c4isr online and forces as such speed is the key as the enemy is still reeling back form the shock of the first strike. As such rapid deployment even under fire from the remnants of the enemy's initial force is very much likely. So you see the the slow landing using lcvp and lcm is replaced by high speed assault of lcac and aaav. But the threat of coming under fire not only remains the same but also risen from machine guns to anti landing missiles, auto cannons ,grenade machine gun etc.
Padmmegh Ambrela It is not made for a country vs country war! It is made for landings on river etc. and also a troop transporter which just have the ability to be used as amphibious vehicle...
Alex Weber Do you really think anything in the military is used in the specified role only as advised by the manufacturer.Military try to make everything multirole as much as possible even if it was not designed like so. For example humvee they were never designed for combat but they were used and the result was disastrous, to mitigate that instead of deploying purpose build vehicles the soldiers have to make do with field modifications later backed by company uparmored humvee but with a strained chassis crappy handling and inadequate armor they were waste of money, lives and time. They should have foreseen all this or atleast tried to design a vehicle along with humvee for more combat oriented role. Even in the first comment I had already mentioned it is better as supply vehicle or as you mentioned as river or swamp patrol vehicle but one can never trust in the great wisdom of military minds.
APVT is not made as a Ship to Shore connector. From its specifications (and KMW's statements) one may conclude that it is made as an all terrain RIVER-SWAMP capable AAFV and it should not be compared with any other Sea to Shore vehicles like AAV7 or the failed and extremely expensive EFV. It is built to cover the needs of some South American Nations with extensive riverine enviroments (Amazon River Basin-Parana) such as Brazil or Argentina (already having traditional ties with the German Military Industry). It would be a waste of time to even speak about the Russian floating coffins but if someone wants to learn about them, he should try search UAE's National Guard opinion about the latest Russian AAFV (BMP3) or former Bolshevik Eastern European Countries' Armies about their BTR-like AAV's. .
+Hamster Backe This is half true. The first type of Fuchs are able to swim, but the newer version with more Armor is to heavy and lost this ability. So siehts aus.
Sure but... It has to turn around when going from land to water and back again? Sounds like a hassle when other amphibious APCS exist that can drive and swim in the same direction.
okay, when she on float mode, the ramp door in the front of vehicle exposes without any protection. all soldiers embark the vehicle will risk to die in beach invasion scenario. it is good concept but just wondering.
jet engine at the front of the off road side can be discutable depending of the protection design seem preparation for flotability relly on soft panel what non safe in combat environement
No data on sea keeping but a crew of 2 +8 troops 5 ton payload. Land speed of 70 Km/h water speed of 13.2 Km/h can cross a 2.5m trench or climb a .8m vertical obstruction, power pack is 816 hp range is ~550 km land and ~54 km water. said to have good ballistic and mine protection.
That design would be more awesome if a armor plate blocked the inner cabin from an enemy machine gunner monopolizing on being able to skip rounds inside the main cabin. Or a sniper.
leon g. Germany has no Marines or Amphibious assault force capabilities. The French do however as do the Italians, Spanish and the British. The British though seem to have no interest in mechanized Amphibious assault. The Italians have this capability with the SUPERAV, but the French lack it, the Spanish use AAV7A which are aging.
It's a KMW brand, not KNDS, so it's german. It's definitely for export only because the german army's heavily mechanised doctrine has no use for such kind of vehicle.
That is just another hilarious MIC junk, when it facing Apache kind of atk helis. Just a sitting duck and that is why Pentagon cancelled EFV project. EFV is far more superior than it’s kind of amphibious fighting vehicle in the world.
Nikolai, don't talk shit. They have 2 versions. One with 105mm rifled gun, coaxial, 7.62x54mm, 12.7x108mm hmg and 2 ATGM HJ-8. The other one with 30mm - coax and atgm - maybe, sometimes with hmg on top (saw the IFV variant only without). 30mm COAXIAL rofl...
TheCrazyKid1381 ACV 1.2 is based on Iveco SuperAV Iveco and BAE redesign the original SuperAV for Marine Corps. so it is Italian amphibious vehicle redesigned with British company BAE. ACV 1.2 is European
Canada? We don’t have the money to keep what we have running. We might be able to buy 30 year old ones from the Australians, like we are doing now... buying 30year old F-18s... a $1.5 trillion economy but we fund find military like we were Iceland.
Russia doesn't have an analogue for Hummer. And russia doesn't have any mentioning-worthy armored personnel carriers (no, russias "ride on the top" cars doesn't count, because everybody riding them know what shit that is)
You said "simple yet effective russian weaponry" - they do not have any effective weapons. It has LOTS of shitty weapons. If you would look at military footage - all soldiers are riding ON TOP of "armoured" cars, because it is safer there. No precision munitions, nothing better than "lets shell the sh1t out of that site, maybe we will hit something". They still cannot replicate thermal vision binoculars, made in USA in 60's
da ve, danke für diesen Kommentar. Durch den Einfluss des Englischen gibt es bereits Leute die denken man dürfe Fuchs und Wiesel nicht als Panzer bezeichnen.
Nice concept of combining both of them. If the boat side is damaged anyhow during the war then there will be problem in opening the door or going into the water.
That armour looks flimsy and the type is incredibly outdated. Quite frankly its too flat. Im told its all about composite materials and angles of deflection now. The spokesman wasn't too jazzed either.
😀😁😂🤣🤗 I think the only thing that monstrosity will be good for is for being destroyed. And getting good men killed. I am ex-AF and looks bad to me. I would hate to be in the French Air Force if they do make that thing fly. LOL. I wonder if they will nickname it the Widowmaker.
make it fly
This is not WARHAMMER 40,000 :)
Ex-AF and I hope no ground pounder ever has to depend on that thing for anything. If there is a bad way to make a military vehicle leave it to the French to figure out how to screw it up. No wonder they've been getting their asses kicked for the last four hundred or so years.
As soon as it touches the ground you have to do a 180° turn to start advancing ignoring beach defenses. Sounds neat haha
it can float, it can ride and when it reach your settlement the Jawa traders will sell you the droids you're looking for!! :P
All the experts in the comments are like journalists on a press conference.
So when it lands on a beach, it makes a 180 and then drives to the area of operations
Valiantsin Lapatka No, driver is on one side, commander on the other side
Call me old fashion but I think its a bad idea to write float and drive on the armour.
Sevenfold120 that's probably only for the display/ prototype
Its for army use. better be safe.
Have you seen marines?
Old fashion, read military history. The Army has been working to build tanks that will safely float and not endanger the troops.

koca yürekli adam no one says its an tank👊
The title does
May have been a very English pun -you know, water, tank....
It is and sometimes you should just think before writing bullshit. Fkn hell....
Mecha Apophis CloseAirSupport It’s not a Tank

Im just imagining this thing in the Normandy landings.
How much?
Russian BPM type vehicles have been able to go into the water since the 70s.
Our german Fuchs can go Into water as well.
+Hamster Backe

awesome ground clearance
Stop slapping your chops MyLord!!
No protected cabin? Is that for visibility?
which end is which?
thats a really good idea
I want one
Wonderful news.
very cool concept!
okay, when she on float mode, the ramp door in the front of vehicle exposes without any protection. all soldiers embark the vehicle will risk to die in beach invasion scenario.

As a sailor I can say propeller Technology is a best choice . Beacuse water jets can be not good for dirty waters. One plastic bag can be stop you.
jet engine at the front of the off road side can be discutable depending of the protection design
seem preparation for flotability relly on soft panel what non safe in combat environement
Is this how you define tank?
Nikko Alarba Tank is NOT=Panzer
Panzer stands for every armored vehicle
I'd love to know the range, payload and speed for both at-sea and on-land specs. Also, how is it's seakeeping compared to existing amphibious designs.

#ADF ,, Need this ASAP ! #Pat Conroy? 💯🙏👀
That design would be more awesome if a armor plate blocked the inner cabin from an enemy machine gunner monopolizing on being able to skip rounds inside the main cabin. Or a sniper.
shoe box
So basically an Amtrak like the AAVP7A1.
Also known as the Titanic
It's lip smakin good!
Needs an unmanned weapons turret.
I really can't consider that a tank more like a armor fighting vehicle
So a Euro AAV?
Leon Cranson yes i think
But more a german AAV

Jonny not yet.
They won't. For what would germany need a amphibious assault force?
it really sits low in the water
Its basically a reversing bus boat … thingy.
Try chinese zbd-05 marine ifv goes 45kph on calm water armed with 105mm rifled gun with a 30mm coaxial gun and can carry 8 troops.
This seems more an APC then an IFV.
That is just another hilarious MIC junk, when it facing Apache kind of atk helis.
Just a sitting duck and that is why Pentagon cancelled EFV project.

30mm COAXIAL rofl...
kph is a bullshit term
the main thing is not to mix up the directions 😂😂😂
nice concept, suitable for river patrol.
capespring yes until someone opens the door to get out whilst still on water
Just needs a pair of fuzzy dice and a yellow "Baby on board" sign and my daily commute will be complete.... Oh and some old Cherrios under the seats
It doesn't make any sense...
And it will probably never be seen in the German army, as we rather export our stuff then equip it :(
He looks like 007
What a awesome Vehicle :) I would like to order 2-3 for my bathtub, please. :) It is so cool, a Vehicle with its own sunglasses :)
tide shield looks too fancy
Looks like a mini version of the thing from star wars
russian tanks and apcs and aifvs are built to float and can travel in all kinds of terrain.
Perfect and suitsble for the Marines
It looks like a tank version of the boat cars in spongebob
more like an armored personell carrier
Some one tell that dude to drink some water 😂😂
amazing shit
Vulnerable to rocket propelled grenades.
Looks cool
It has the potential to do well in the Arctic and if so the Canadians in the Americans are going to definitely like it
USMC cancelled much more prominent EFV project. I believe, it doesn't need swimming "Marder without autocannon"
When looking at the Specs the US AAV7A1 has a larger payload as would the ACV 1.2 so The US doesn't need it.
lol Americans gave up on making a Gepard style SPAA because they couldn't get M247 to work.
TheCrazyKid1381 ACV 1.2 is based on Iveco SuperAV Iveco and BAE redesign the original SuperAV for Marine Corps. so it is Italian amphibious vehicle redesigned with British company BAE. ACV 1.2 is European

I bet the armour is paper thin. You can infer it is because at no point did he say it was like kinda ok armour.
Welcome to 21st centry
It's a baby elephant!
Interesting concept but not really an improvement over the amphibious tracked apc, most militaries already deploy
Looks like the transport vehicle if the separatists in the clone wars
Impressive.
Two more decades and you reach BTR-82 level.. :D
Thats a different concept of operations, There are already plenty of European 8x8's that match or surpass that
xmeda
They can't reach Russian in next 15 years
Necro Force man I swear you read my mind. Thank you for not being stupid like these 2 fellas higher☝️👆

ну и хрень. на уровне гаражных самоделок.
This guy gets on my nerves when talking, also this tank needs to do a 180 two times to cross a body of water
It seems that you have not learned the lessons from World War II , put down the infantry in front of the beach.
Then you think about what will happen.
Not a tank.
You tell 'em!
no, it´s a Amphibious Protected Vehicle Tracked (APVT)
KWM floats new 'Amphibious Protected Vehicle Tracked' vehicle concept aint a great headline tho...
Nice concept of combining both of them. If the boat side is damaged anyhow during the war then there will be problem in opening the door or going into the water.
Designed to fail ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! so complex in battlefield environment.funny transformation of land and water drive system.

Typical German engineering- an overly complicated solution in search of a problem
For sure made in russia
The design does not make any sense
Load of crap.
Not... A very... Impressive model... As far as looks go...
So is it good for invading Russia? jk...
too expensive . and useless.
