      Ex-AF and I hope no ground pounder ever has to depend on that thing for anything. If there is a bad way to make a military vehicle leave it to the French to figure out how to screw it up. No wonder they've been getting their asses kicked for the last four hundred or so years.

  • @alfredconqueror4422

    As soon as it touches the ground you have to do a 180° turn to start advancing ignoring beach defenses. Sounds neat haha

    So when it lands on a beach, it makes a 180 and then drives to the area of operations

      Old fashion, read military history. The Army has been working to build tanks that will safely float and not endanger the troops.
      Read about the sad story the floating tanks used on D-day. Thanks Jesus, dad was driving one of the normal tanks on D-day.

    Didn't they know nobody wants to disembark from front because it becomes choke point for machine guns. Why do you think US military switched from lcvp and lcm to LVTs and lcacs as their primary beach landing craft. If this vehicle is advertised as second line support and supply amphibious vehicle then their is some merit as it does not have to stop at the beach and can resupply troops nearer to their aera of operation.

    • @TakNuke
      @TakNuke 6 років тому +1

      draconianwarking If it's sarcasm then lol otherwise no it doesn't there is a bow door in the passenger section and two turret hatches in the driving compartment with engine in the middle as he himself mentioned. This whole vehicle is basically a lcvp on tracks it's not good for disembarking under fire but when it comes to supply and reinforcement delivery after a beachead is secured as it removes steps involving transition from landing craft to transport vehicle for delivery it's really revolutionary.

    • @theredjoker8857
      @theredjoker8857 6 років тому +1

      Padmmegh Ambrela yeah but we don't use anymore WW2 tactics like at D-Day right?

    • @TakNuke
      @TakNuke 6 років тому

      Alex Weber USMC the only force which might be doing amphibious landing has conceptualized future landings as suppressing and destruction of enemy c4isr, weapons, supply etc followed by rapid landing by naval and air forces. But that likely to happen in first strike is very much unlikely considering the countries which might be facing it, if the landing force waits for complete suppression and destruction they might lose the initiative as the enemy might bring it's backup c4isr online and forces as such speed is the key as the enemy is still reeling back form the shock of the first strike. As such rapid deployment even under fire from the remnants of the enemy's initial force is very much likely. So you see the the slow landing using lcvp and lcm is replaced by high speed assault of lcac and aaav. But the threat of coming under fire not only remains the same but also risen from machine guns to anti landing missiles, auto cannons ,grenade machine gun etc.

    • @theredjoker8857
      @theredjoker8857 6 років тому

      Padmmegh Ambrela It is not made for a country vs country war! It is made for landings on river etc. and also a troop transporter which just have the ability to be used as amphibious vehicle...

    • @TakNuke
      @TakNuke 6 років тому

      Alex Weber Do you really think anything in the military is used in the specified role only as advised by the manufacturer.Military try to make everything multirole as much as possible even if it was not designed like so. For example humvee they were never designed for combat but they were used and the result was disastrous, to mitigate that instead of deploying purpose build vehicles the soldiers have to make do with field modifications later backed by company uparmored humvee but with a strained chassis crappy handling and inadequate armor they were waste of money, lives and time. They should have foreseen all this or atleast tried to design a vehicle along with humvee for more combat oriented role. Even in the first comment I had already mentioned it is better as supply vehicle or as you mentioned as river or swamp patrol vehicle but one can never trust in the great wisdom of military minds.

    APVT is not made as a Ship to Shore connector. From its specifications (and KMW's statements) one may conclude that it is made as an all terrain RIVER-SWAMP capable AAFV and it should not be compared with any other Sea to Shore vehicles like AAV7 or the failed and extremely expensive EFV. It is built to cover the needs of some South American Nations with extensive riverine enviroments (Amazon River Basin-Parana) such as Brazil or Argentina (already having traditional ties with the German Military Industry). It would be a waste of time to even speak about the Russian floating coffins but if someone wants to learn about them, he should try search UAE's National Guard opinion about the latest Russian AAFV (BMP3) or former Bolshevik Eastern European Countries' Armies about their BTR-like AAV's. .

    • @terranempire2

      No data on sea keeping but a crew of 2 +8 troops 5 ton payload. Land speed of 70 Km/h water speed of 13.2 Km/h can cross a 2.5m trench or climb a .8m vertical obstruction, power pack is 816 hp range is ~550 km land and ~54 km water. said to have good ballistic and mine protection.

    • @terranempire2

      leon g. Germany has no Marines or Amphibious assault force capabilities. The French do however as do the Italians, Spanish and the British. The British though seem to have no interest in mechanized Amphibious assault. The Italians have this capability with the SUPERAV, but the French lack it, the Spanish use AAV7A which are aging.

    • @jonny2954

If you would look at military footage - all soldiers are riding ON TOP of "armoured" cars, because it is safer there. No precision munitions, nothing better than "lets shell the sh1t out of that site, maybe we will hit something". They still cannot replicate thermal vision binoculars, made in USA in 60's

    Nice concept of combining both of them. If the boat side is damaged anyhow during the war then there will be problem in opening the door or going into the water.

    That armour looks flimsy and the type is incredibly outdated. Quite frankly its too flat. Im told its all about composite materials and angles of deflection now. The spokesman wasn't too jazzed either.

    😀😁😂🤣🤗 I think the only thing that monstrosity will be good for is for being destroyed. And getting good men killed. I am ex-AF and looks bad to me. I would hate to be in the French Air Force if they do make that thing fly. LOL. I wonder if they will nickname it the Widowmaker.
