I recently graduated and was looking for new career ideas and ran across your videos again. I am so happy to find your channel as your videos are informational and encouraging. Starting my BS in I/O Psychology next month and doing a fast track program for my masters. I mainly want to work I like the food stamps office, or anything for the state or government. Case manager positions would be good too
Awesome video! Going into my sophomore year at my respected university and this video allowed me to be more confident with my choice of the psych major, now knowing there is a variety of options regarding careers
what she didn't tell you is that they're low paying. Don't just take other people's word for it. Go on indeed & search the jobs for yourself. Also the reputation of your school doesn't matter to employers. What they want is skill and psychology is too general to be applicable to most jobs hence why a lot of psych majors struggle to get hired after school. You better just get a master's if you really wanna stay in psychology.
I have done a bachelor's in applied psychology and don't know what to do next and with a bachelor degree what job I can do in the field of psychology at entry level. Does anyone have suggestions? Where should I apply for the job?
to be a teacher, you need another year after your BA or BS to earn some kind of teaching credential for K-12 teaching. Some states require a masters degree tp teach K-12.
The pay is not a reliable stable pay unless its in a field that is not in psychology...you would need a masters degree in psychology to get something more stable.
That's not always true because I have a bachelors in psych and I have a stable job that I have been in for over 3 years. And all I have right now is a bachelors degree.
What is the pay for Case Worker? I am a teacher with a Master's Degree. I want out of the classroom. I have a Psych Minor but would train somewhere if the income is livable. Please record a follow up video on this so I can learn about the pay.
I live in California and I couldn't find anything to do with my bachelor's in psychology. I am job to job. Master degrees are definitely a requirement here in California. I think I will go to graduate school for social work and if not maybe move to a state where their are less competitive requirements. State jobs are hard to get too. You need to be bilingual and experienced. Plus black peoples applications are discriminated as well.
I liked your video alot it was very helpful if I could make a suggestion it would be more insightful if you listed the title of jobs when you start discussing them or at the beginning of the video say Jim or 2:54 if you want to skip the intro and head straight for the different careers

I'm planning to graduate with a bachelor's only because I want to work right after. If I do go into the social work area, what minor would be helpful? How about with child care work or a teacher?
So for case management all I need is a four years of school in psych and that’s it cause it seems like I need a lot more I’m in college and my major is psychology will that be enough?
Like would I need additional school for nursing cause working with people that have disabilities or have addictions sounds like something a nurse would study in and not entirely a psych major
Well with everything going on it so many work from home jobs if that's suits you I would say do your research of what you want to do I wouldn't recommend case management being that you're in medical school case management can be a lot and stressful so I would not put more stress on yourself than necessary.
Im pretty sure you do, and psychologist is such a broad term. I think therapist is actually the correct term or counselors which you def need a phd or masters atleast.
Hey I am not sure because I've only lived in Virginia my whole life so the opportunities out there may be way different then where I'm from! I would suggest going on indeed and putting in the search bar some of the job titles that I named in the video and depending on the opportunities in Vancouver jobs should come up. Good Luck on you search!

@@caniask568 it's depends on what state/ country you're in I would try and do a google search being that each state has different requirements.

Yes I do love it it's a rewarding feeling. Don't get me wrong it can be challenging at time but it's worth it seeing the outcome.

Perhaps look into certain healthcare fields and even ITand tech fields where your background in working with children as well as your interests
so basically you can't get a decent job with just a bachelor's in psychology. After all those years of studying and that's all you get. Major regrets.
