Big D11 Bulldozer Drags Tractors and Dump Truck
Вставка

- D11 bulldozer gets tested against some of our other machinery. The dozer is pulling them up a 4 degree slope and still does it fairly easily. The tractors were in neutral with brakes applied so we didnt damage them.

@@Cedo86 Also better traction. The dump truck in middle was spinning it's wheels a little but if you spin the wheels too much you lose all traction and the dozer pulls it even easier.

that's brilliant!!

They can pull anything
It Could pull the Sympathy of the Seas Criuse Ship.
Legend has it that D11's dont walk forward or backwards.

Komatsu 475 will out pull an 11 due to %50 more track chain over final drives. Sad but true.
I think everyone will agree with me in saying the tractors and the dump truck should be pulling also to see how strong the Bulldozer is...

weight is more relevant than power
@@michaelanderson7715 in this case is both, that's a 12 cylinder 4 massive turbos , 1000 hp and basically infinite torque because of the transmission, plus 250,000 pounds gross weight including the ripper, that's a serious machine
@@Me-fj8sb Weight is *more* relevant, at no point did I state power is *not* relevant. Nor is torque 'basically infinite', obviously.
@@Me-fj8sb 850 hp not 1000 🤦
I’m betting on the D11 before I’m even 5 seconds into this video. The 11 is likely geared lower, probably still weighs as much or more all of those other pieces of equipment combined, plus it has steel grouser tracks to dig in where the rubber tires and rubber tracks don’t come close to grabbing the traction those would need to even hold the 11. Pretty cool though to put it in perspective, with the video!
The 11 should weigh around 220k. I agree with you, I figured the 11 would win.
@@gumballer133 Try 250K
@@Will91289 Thats funny, because I almost bought one recently for my Pit. And it only weighed 220k, unless the trucking company and the rigging company were lying to me and were just gonna overload the shit out of their trailers for the 40k they quoted me to disassemble and transport the machine from the pit in ND to mine in OH.
gearing is irrelevant
@@michaelanderson7715 I disagree, if the D11 only had to hold the brakes on and hold the tractors from moving it, gearing would play no role. However, the D11 pulled all four pieces of equipment, and it needs to be geared low enough not to stall out, with all that weight and traction. So, I beg to differ sir, . . . gearing has some relevance.
Go the big Cat... that's a beast... 900+ Hp... it was barely off idle !!
weight is more relevant than power
@@michaelanderson7715 Actually, traction is more relevant than power, AND weight if we are talking specifics. I was just noting the power.
@@DT-ge8gd
1. I chose weight as the comparison in contextual reference to you saying 'big Cat', and power obviously because you referenced that.
2. I'm aware of the role traction plays, it was not necessary to mention it for the point I was making.
3. Regardless of which is more relevant (weight or traction), stating weight is more relevant than power is correct, and the _only_ point I was making in the context of what you said. Your point is superfluous to that.
4. Fair enough if you were 'just noting the power', in context you can surely see though that it can be interpreted as thinking power was the deciding factor.

They wouldn't have a chance anyway,
the driver cabins are empty, wheels are not spinning. Boring experiment.
That was the point, it’s not a tug o war

My gosh that D11 is huge 💪👊
No dump trucks or tractors were harmed during the filming of this informative clip.
Haha we tried our best for that not to happen😁
But it's not good to pull on the dumptruck in that way. The hitch takes a lot bigger load than is intended i believe. I've seen them being ripped apart from being pulled by bulldozers.
I used to run one in fort dodge iowa twenty-some years ago they are very very powerful we got one stuck in the mud and it took 4 weeks $10,000 worth of railroad tie and cable to pull it out the blade is 1 and 1/2 Suburbans wide and about 10 ft tail
Hell yeah. They were digging a canal down in Mississippi and got a D11 stuck. It took 4 of them to pull the stuck one out. They had the huge winches hooked up but it just slid all 4 right along the ground. Then they lowered the blades and picked the front ends up and got the tracks spinning and dug out a bank behind the dozers for the tracks to brace against then hooked up the cables and started winching. I swear the power of the huge winches was lifting up on the front of the D11's. That was some serious torque. But slowly the stuck D11 started to move and about 45 minutes later it was crawling out in it's own traction. That was the most impressive display of power I have ever seen.

Let's see a tug boat and the D11 battle.
Looks like the dump truck was idling in first not neutral! Sneaky! What are those straps you are using rated too?
Hi mate, yes the idea was to lock the brakes on all the vehicles so we didn’t damage any drivetrain components, Brad was driving the dump truck and decided to give it a bit haha. The big strap is 100t the smaller white ones are 50t and the blue one is 25t😁
Dump truck should have had 40 ton of muck in it
The real winner of this video is those two straps
I wonder if D11 could be put in neutral and if so could the other machines pull it in neutral. And if that succeeded the dozer could just drop the blade and that would be the end.

Impressive indeed but why weren't the tracks and wheels spinning on the tractors!?

There's some old footage of the Acco super dozer in a tug o'war with a Cat D10 along with 5 other smaller tracked dozers chained up with the D10. At first the Acco is pulled backwards but when the Acco brakes and begins to turn it's tracks forwards, it pulls them all backwards instead! The Acco could likely pull the D11 here and the machinery.
To bad it never got to do any work.
@@Lucas12v your right.
Not bad considering the D11 has slicks for tracks.
I haven’t done the math, but I think the D-11 is heavier than all of the others combined. Once the D-11 starts any momentum no way the others are going to counter that inertia and then the D-11 is powered too.

- D11R operating weight is around 98 Tons.
-D11T with Carrydozer blade operating weight is around 120 Tons.
