I followed Livingston closely through his career. I don’t know how many times he magically appeared wide open under the basket on the sneakiest back door cuts in the league. Thanks for making a video celebrating this CHAMPION.
That’s why I love the Warriors organization. They have a talent for scooping up diamonds in the rough and turning them into stars. Shaun had a warrior mentality through every challenge he faced.
@ I was referring to after his injury when he was bouncing from team to team. Similar to GP2 landing in golden state and finding his stride there. and yes Shaun always had a warrior mentality. 💯
Sean Livingston's career literally was a miracle. Looking at that injury, you would think the odds of him coming back to peak performance was impossible.. Living in NJ, I was a Nets fan, and Sean Marks took the chance with Sean Livingston, and rehabbed his career. Where the league took notice when he played with the Nets. Because of the league rules Nets could not re-sign him, and GSW took advantage.
Not a warriors fan but I did notice his play. Did not know he had a serious injury early in his career. Good to know. We can only appreciate his greatness in the game.
Warriors found a replacement for the 2 ways; Wiggins was a nice addition for the 2022 championship and since then has reversed . Iggy we ain’t found nobody probably podz but he got years before getting up to that level
Warriors have a unique way of scouting out players to mesh with they’re team members. They look not just externally. They look below the surface & have faith in their ppl , valuing quality of character above all. It’s refreshing to see and a testament to their unique success 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽 A very innovative organization
He's a perfect example of how the 8th man can make a huge difference. Much like Boris Diaw on the 2014 Spurs, he was a menace chewing up tired starters and overwhelmed subs. Depth matters
my guy is way way much more better than those who were still playing out there. having the mentality and courage to work hard and get back to play at the highest level of basketball is greatness.
@@BALLEDIN technically IT IS A MISS, and whoever made the putback dunk points obviously gets those points. Having followed Shaun on GSW even though efficient on his midrange game, I've seen him miss. Only fans who watch highlights on UA-cam, or even you got fooled on this one. One particular game I'm sure he missed was that famous Cavaliers vs. Warriors on 2016 Christmas day. It was on the 2nd quarter, and he missed two midrange shots, and yeah, I'm a GSW fan and watch whole games.
@@BALLEDINu literally saw this on the internet nd ran w it if u really know basketball it’s no player in history that’s perfect from anywhere from the field or ft line ts sad🤦🏽♂️
I always get confused by this. I see so many headlines that he has never missed a midrange shot tho I see stats and shot graphs that show plenty of missed shots (midrange included.) Pretty sure I've seen him miss shots when we was playing as well. So where does this headline come from?
I still remember watching it live and it was terrible to witness. Glad he bounced back and won a chip or two with the Warriors. he was definitely Mr. midshot dependable dude in every situation.
It's not true at all the Shaun Livingston never missed a midrange jumper. He missed many each year lol. You can look at his year by year shot chart if you really like. He shot 28/67 (41.8%) on midranges in 2018 for example. Nice clickbait though. Should have done some research before posting this.
his efficiency would go down if he did besides his field goal percentage of that would probably go up but this is 2024 and that stat is irrelevant we care about true shooting now
@@JJ-dz3xj i paid ticket to the warrior's game. i saw him missed with my own eyes. and 2016 finals, game 7, if he hit a few on those mid-range, then Lebron would have been 0-4 vs Warriors in the final. and 2016 73-9 warriors team will be better than 1996 72-10 bulls team.
@@JJ-dz3xj when googling, it says he made 1309/1309. However thats a ballsacksports tweet, which was posted as troll, and the NBA community ran with it. Its physically impossible to made that many shots in a row in an NBA setting.
Very good video, i liked Shaun's game style. I only saw him up close at the championship celebration in Sunnyvale. He looked like one of my home boys but way taller.
The ONLY flaw in tthis video is the assertion that it was a league of 3 point shooting in 2014, which it certainly wasn't. It was only the Warriors, and other teams weren't taking as many until 2017 - and that was still much less than the average 3pt attempts we see today in 2024. Livingston not fitting in the league had nothing to do with 3pt shooting. Teams were afraid of his injury history.
He didn't take 3's because of his injured knee? I'd assume the wear and tear would be the same with midrange jumpers or dunks/layups.. heck, even just running up and down the court alone.
The warriors bench with shaun You knew that their bench wont blow a lead, instead if warriors were down and time for bench to play, they almost always(not all the) chip the lead, or are in lead when steph and starteers came back
bro, im a warriors fan and i love shaun. Stop with these glazing that he never missed a shot all of warriors games i’ve watched, it shaun misses a shot. Oh my goodness. Just stop.
FALSE! Just not true: you can find video of him missing a whole bunch of mid-range shots, even when playing for the Warriors. Someone claimed this and it spread like a meme, but ask yourself, even in practice, could anyone hit 1300 jumpers, from anywhere, without a miss, while being guarded? It's unbelievably rare to even hit 100. NOW add the best defenders in the world (NBA) and the pressure of the shot clock,..... silly. And video don't lie (much). He missed plenty. Still, a great player, with an inspirational story, on an incredible team -- he was fun to watch.
whats your opinion?👀
GEMUS
Hot take here but warning before a closeup of the knee would have kept my dinner in my stomach.
He was so valuable to the Warriors dynasty that the organization should consider retiring his number.
dude wtf D Wade was better at mid range
This is complete nonsense. You are a straight-up liar. ua-cam.com/video/dYbp42WRFso/v-deo.htmlsi=E2qpmiv2bFXO4zrB
he had one of the greatest career comebacks in nba history
Correct, from injury to 3x NBA rings
lowkey up there in the 6 man GOAT debate...
Agreed
He is the true mid range king cause that is his only game. He doesnt shoot threes, just fade away mid range. I miss it
Besides Steph and Klay. Shaun was the most entertaining player on the team. His high release mid range was a spectacle. And he doesnt miss
i think all the warriors fan miss him.

I’m glad someone is shining his story. He is the reason I worked on my midrange to contribute in my local rec center

i remember when i first watch warriors game in 2014 and livingston just posting up and do a fadeaway jumper like that is the cleaness fadeaway i saw
