  • Episode 029 - Dunedin is the second-largest city in New Zealand’s South Island. Known for its Scottish heritage, Victorian architecture, and a large student population, Dunedin is also home to the country’s best wifi! The highlights of Dunedin include the historic Dunedin railway station in Anzac Square, beautiful St. Clair Beach, and the popular Tunnel Beach.
    Historic Train Station
As we explored the mosaics of this beautiful train station, we met a local photographer who asked if he could take some photos for a local advertisement. Check us out in his video (skip ahead to 56 seconds!), as adventureViV and CameraMan walk hand-in-hand under the colorful, autumn leaves.

St. Clair Beach is a lovely beach and popular amongst residents and tourists! It’s a great spot for swimming, surfing, and general people watching.
Tunnel Beach is a secluded beach that was once inaccessible to all. However, this hand-hewn tunnel was built in the 1870s, as a gift from John Cargill to his daughters. Awesome gift, right?! (Hint hint, CameraMan…!)
Otago Peninsula: Wildlife Capital of New Zealand
The Otago Peninsula is home to an abundance of magnificent wildlife, including The Royal Albatross, the endangered Yellow-Eyed Penguin, Little Blue Penguins, NZ Fur Seals, NZ Sea Lions, and more! Watch to see just how cute the Little Blue Penguins are as they come ashore to nest for the evening.
Harbour Cone, The Chasm, and Lovers Leap
A number of walkways give you access to many breathtaking views and sheer cliff faces like The Chasm and Lovers Leap. The top of Harbour Cone, climbing to 315 meters or just over 1000 feet above sea level, can be reached by foot from several places.
    Moeraki Boulders
Driving up the coast from Dunedin to Oamaru, you have to stop and check out the Moeraki Boulders! What an incredible sight - spherical boulders that look like dinosaur or alien eggs. The CameraMan is convinced that we are not alone. The truth is out there!
Stay tuned for next week’s episode, where we show you magnificent footage of Mt. Cook / Aoraki!
SHOUTOUTS: We didn’t have any shoutouts in this episode, but YOU can change that! If you want a shoutout, all you have to do is buy the CameraMan a cheap beer - ko-fi.com/adventureviv!
Curious about what a day in the office looks like for adventureViV & CameraMan? CHECK THIS OUT: • Across Country Quad Bi... . We made a promotional video for adventure company 'Across Country Quad Bikes'! Oh, and another one coming soon featuring adventureViV in hot tubs...
For all of you GADGET GEEKS: Interested in getting a drone but hesitant to drop $$$$$ and crash it? We recommend getting a CHEAP drone first (amzn.to/2HsNV4e), so you can practice with it, crash it, and get a good feel for flying before investing in a pricier drone!

No Tunnel Beach when I lived there in 1997-8. Glad to see they are adding to the tourism factors.

JJ Hantsch thanks for watching! It was recommended to us by a local Kiwi. One of her favorite spots to take her dogs on a hike ☀️
