This was originally gonna be the first cover I did from Persona 5 since the chorus lead is probably one of my favorite melodies from the entire game. I felt that however the build up took too long to get there. For this cover I really tried to spice up the build to the choruses a bit more to the point of just like slamming my guitar a bunch. Also a few months back I watched a bunch of vids by one of my favorite electronic acts, Infected Mushroom, and they were going on and on about this vocal processor called Manipulator. I couldn't help but be curious to see what it could sound like on guitar and I think it made for a really cool effect on a lot of the leads in this. Believe it or not there are NO synthesizers in this cover! It's all effected guitar!

Sometimes, I think this song represents the Phantom Thieves instead of the palace rulers since it sounds triumphant at points and the people they're fighting aren't really blooming since they have already done bad things, but the the Phantom Thieves are the ones that are blooming because they are stealing treasure and gaining notoriety.
the villain part fits too, because public opinion of them is generally that they're bad, even if they're doing good things.

Damn! I was just driving home from work, rockin my P5 playlist. Blooming Villain came on, and I couldn't help but think of how sick a FamilyJules cover would be. Sure enough, I didn't have to wait long to find out how sick a FamilyJules cover would be.
And this was a great cover, Jules! You always give any song the right amount of variation in sound and/or melody to surprise me. I'm glad to say that's what keeps me listening to your work!

I'm very late to the party. Still a great party though! The only worry I had when seeing/starting this is if you could land the tonal shift: You completely nailed it.
I have to say, I'm not very big on music generally. A lot of popular music just sounds the same to me. Same instruments, same general tone. One of the reasons I love the music for persona 5 so much is because it has wildly varying instruments, and wildly varying tones. Electric guitars and violins in the same track. What more can I say? It just sounds...interesting.

Without a doubt my favourite cover of this track. It just feels so intense and has a lot of “oomph” to it. Most other covers I find lack that bit of background strength that makes the track feel-able along with being a good track to listen to. This cover succeeds in that excellently though. Keep up the good work, and here’s to hearing more great Persona tracks covered by you!

I was really torn between doing this theme and the boss theme. That chorus would be sooo fun to play but I felt this had more melody over all. I guess I know which Persona 5 song to do next then!
