Hi Rich. Seems to be a dream machine. Tanks for the introduction. For myself I'll have to stick to the upgraded and enlarged Sculpfun. As it is it is already an expensive hobby.
Your help in solving a strange problem is much needed.
I am making a box. Nothing fancy. A simple box consisting of a base plate and 4 walls, with Tabs and slots as I have done so many times.
The 4 walls got cut (8 mm plywood) with no problem and they fit into each other well.
The base place was planned on screen surrounded by the 4 walls so that I have full control over the sizes and the fitting of the tabs/slots and the 4 walls in themselves vis a vis the 4 sides of the base.
I also planned 2 hinges to hold a cover.
I took the plywood sheet from which the walls were cut away from the machine and put a new one there and sent the base and the hinges to be cut.
These last parts came out smaller than planned, obviously not fitting, both in their length and in their width.
Never before have I encountered such a phenomenon.
It struck me that some "factor" has played a hidden role so I made calculations and indeed, the base plate got smaller in both directions by the same extent and so also the hinges.
I am so puzzled and do not know where to look for a solution.
Could you please figure this out and suggest a solution?
Many thanks,
Emanuel

The song!🙌
Glad you like it! I wrote it.
Love the song Rich
Thanks Tommy!
This is great. Roly continues to kick xtools butt
These are at a whole different level of quality Steve, in a class of their own.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I’m going to do my best Rich to get this Xm machine. Your review and continued support of the Roly has me wanting to move completely away from the two xtool d 1 machines I have
Oh, it would be a whole new experience for you Steve!
No not really...xTool is still on top...
And #1 this week on the Billboard Music Chart...
Lasermatic XW by The Louisiana Hobby Guy
🤪 I appreciate that, *thanks Matt!*
NICE! As you said, many people waiting for this one. Will be keeping my eye on your channel to see more of course!
More to come Eric! I should have the 1st one this week.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I will let everyone know today as well. I will point them to you of course.
Thank you for the update Rich!
You bet! 👍
I just got its little brother 20 Watt about a month ago and really enjoy it. Greg
I am too Greg!
I got the laser and rotary 2 days ago, the side exhaust mod yesterday, and right now the machine states its due tomorrow. We will see, FedEx is known to run behind. Can't wait to get started with it. Waited months for the release of the XW
I was waiting since they announced it! It's sooooo nice!
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy can't wait. FedEx shows the machine in Ohio at the moment with delivery expected tomorrow. I'm in Connecticut so not sure that will happen, but hopeful. Very excited
My box 2 took a whirlwind tour of the southern US! It went from CA, to MS, to TX, to OH, and then finally Louisiana 🤪
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Yeah, so far mine has seen 3 cities in California, one in NM, one in TX, then in to Kansas City, then on to Chicago, now in Ohio. If only they had a way to fly things in the sky across country 🤔🤪😁
I've noticed in the last year or so, both FedEx and UPS can't deliver a package on-time. Just last week, I had a package shipped from Brooklyn that was here at my local distribution point 3 days later, and out for delivery. The next day it said unexpected delay. The next day it was in OR! After an hour on the phone, they agreed to expedite it from OR and flew it here the next day. What a fiasco! DHL is the only company who delivers on time anymore.
Wouldn’t you know it, this comes out the day my new 30w lasermatic arrived. But that okay, been looking forward to it for a while now. Thank Rich, now to review all your videos about using it.
I know you'll enjoy it Joe!
Man that is awesome, I just moved and my MK2 30 watt is still in the box, guess I should have waited
Nah, you'll love the regular Mark 2!
Needs more power for that kind of money, you can get a 70 watt for a couple 100 more
I disagree! More power over 20W is a waste unless all you do is cut. There is no other laser on the market that compares to the build quality or precision of a LaserMATIC. It's in a class of its own at a very good price point.
You are absolutely right it is the best, and I was referring to cutting, but the lasernatic is the best of the best in quality and precision
Preordered the 30W this morning looking forward to it
Awesome! 👍 Thanks for watching Steve!
Well now that is a great and bad thing, great with bigger work bed, bad I cant get it right now. OMG thats a dream machine. I might have to look at finance to get me one of these with the rotary. Then I would have to change rooms to a bigger one to fit all 3 machines in.
Yes! Do it Ian!! 🤪
I just got mine MK2 mid April, wish I’d known it was coming out this soon! I’d have waited another month or two to get the bigger size! 😂
The good thing is, you have 2 large passthroughs on your Mark 2 Sharon, so you can do everything the XW can.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Yes, but I still would have preferred the bigger size. Most of my stuff is 19 to 24” long, so would have been more convenient to do at 1 time instead of 2 areas.
I literally just got my mk2 from pre order and now there is one wider. 🤦🏻♂️😭🤣
You're gonna love it! It has the largest passthroughs in the industry at 17x1" front and back. So with Lightburn and Print & Cut, size doesn't matter!
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy print and cut? Not sure what that is

@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy oooooohh!!!! Wow, very cool! Thanks for the info! 🙂
YW!
The slower Y-axis speed might be kind of a minus if you rarely work with long designs. Maybe not if you are engraving only in X for high speeds over 13500mm/min. I wonder how it would affect engraving at 45*? Perhaps you can only run at the 13500mm/min max feed when doing that.
The scanning speeds are 30K on the X and 18K on the Y, same as the regular Mark 2. 99% of all projects are going to scan at 0° on the X, so you'll have full advantage of the max speed.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
Good to know! Didn't see that in any specs that I have seen on the regular MkII. However, that is still 25% slower for the XW version as stated in their XW page of 13.5k in Y, (if you are engraving with maximum speed at a different angle) Unless the 13.5k speed is mis-stated.
The speed and power specs are the same as the Mark 2.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
Thank you for the info.
I want to know who sings that song
Nobody Andrew. It's an AI voice.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy that's great it took a minute before I realized that it was a country song about the laser lol
No jig plate for it?
Jig plate is in production. Available next month.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy thanks
All I get on the link is the MK2, not the XW.
Never mind, the banner on top was covered up.
Glad you found it Ernie!
I have the MK2 w/Rotary. Does the XW use the same rotary?
Yes, but the frame is different, allowing for more clearance. The Mark 2 now has a frame extension kit as an accessory.
Wow, Its bigger, will share on my Socials.
Thanks Jerry!
Wait... That song...AI written and performed?
No, I wrote it, Suno did the music.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy where did you find the time to get any of that done and be the first out with a video??
I'm the Brand Ambassador for Roly Automation, so it's sort of expected. I'm retired, so I have nothing but time!
Why isn't the XW 30 watt available in USA ?
It is Karl. Pull down the drop down menu. It's available in 10, 20 and 30W.
