They make a reverse cooling kit for that #4 cylinder witch basically he made up .. good job man I’m all about the subies they are coming back and it’s great to see !
3:00 I did the cylinder 4 cooling mod using a genuine subaru water fitting in the back of the head. They used to be factory fitted to the old liberty's. Part was shipped from Japan as there were none in the country. I installed it as per how Subaru (mostly), had it set up. It's running great and equalises the pressure really well as the lh head only has one out while the rh head has about 3. Only sort of downside is you can't then get too rowdy with increasing timing as cylinder 4 was intentionally kept hotter to produce knock first as that's why the knock sensor is there. I'd rather have a more reliable engine myself.
I found this part of the video really interesting and went and did more research afterwards. I have had 2 WRXs with cylinder 4 misfire codes. The most recent was a hole in a cylinder 4 exhaust valve. I got the getadomtune.com fix and plan to install on my current build. We will see...
Was a blast n a pain in the arse. You could here that it wasn’t holding on the dyno but still getting 500 plus. You guys knocked it outa the park with this one!! Patients is a vertue and I loved every minute👊🏻😁🇦🇺
Oh no, thank you for all the education! With a little luck and some extra time I will hopefully make it out there, and with any luck the DA is better than 7200 for those tugs 👍👍👍
Just want to thank you. My tuner has been trying to sort out the 4 port on my subaru and it was doing exactly what this car was. Dyno chart had the same shape. My tuner said the same things you were saying. I thought it was the ecu i was using. Seeing this was super helpful. Great power btw. Rad car.
used to tune these in my old work, never a truer word spoken, they would either sing, or spin a bearing. (or occasionally crack a ringland) interestingly we never had gearbox issues, but hear so many complaints stateside.
Always been a function over floss type of guy so this build is right up my alley. Bless his heart for doing a scoobie build. Those motors are a pita for cheap folk
Brent I enjoy watching you guys. You are so awesome at what you do. Your attitude is right on. I love watching you guys dial in these amazing cars. Thank you for sharing your work with us. Have a great weekend guys. I can't wait to see you make a pass in Bully.
As someone who has my heart set on building a ripper subie motor in the future, I thank you in advance for that tip about unblocking the rear two water ports. I've heard of that problem before, but now I know why 👍
Jordan Latta gonna warn you since I’ve built a subie, get ready to spend lots of $, and don’t expect massive gains for the amount of $ you spend... the EJ’s aren’t Honda engines, they are finicky lol
nFINITELooP go with a twin scroll Borg EFR setup if you want a really usable power band with, that’s the turbo line to go with... spool insanely fast and they hold boost high into the rev range
Subarus you have to work into the boost duty cycle easy then ramp it up then drop it again. It’s a tap dance to get it dialed in for sure. I spend more time dialing in boost curve in subarus than any part of the tune..
665whp congratz another successful Rad Master PFi tune great job Brother! Awesome video as always PFiSpeed/BoostedBoiz Rck! 🤜🤛😎🔰🔰🔰💪 grrr damn it I gotta take a break catchin up on the content for a bit ta charge my phone but I'll continue later today for sure!
There seems to be a lot of hate around for Subaru's....but come on, how good does it sound..665WHP as well. IAG will be my choice when my Sti lets go...better start saving! Shame Brent isn't in Australia to tune it!
I hear what your saying. Unfortunately I'm a sucker for the rubble, and I wouldn't be after nearly that much power for my street car. More like 400whp. I come from a Rotary background, so I'm also a sucker for punishment. lol
Brent, not sure if you have seen Kyle’s (Boosted Lifestyle) channel, but in his latest vid he is offering to fly you to Canada to tune his quad turbo civic.
I absolutely love Brent /it's like so over-the-top it sounds like he's fake laughing but it's actually just his laugh I'm not making fun of him in anyway he is the best guy in the world I love the Vids PfI for life
More than likely looks like too much proportional gain. The trick is finding the right level of proportional response and the right proportional/integration ratio so that it doesn't oscillate but also doesn't have to wait too long for integration to make up the difference on too little proportional response which will show up as laggy under/overshoot. Derivative gain is then added sparingly to improve transient response/stability.
4 ports often need different frequency settings. Longer stroke than a 3 port. And there are a few different pn#'s of solenoids from MAC with diff characteristics that people all sell as the same 4 port. Quit tossing in the generic 3 port settings (33hz, or 33333us in aem) for the 4 ports 😉. Half the 4 ports ive tuned on aem run well in the 66667us range, 15psi to 40+psi - others only like 33hz. But need to adjust frequency based on how its responding.
my favorite subaru on youtube! the only hope i have to take a beat north east united states suby an turn it into my own little 22B. making the wide body quarters an fenders is gonna be super hard without an industrial 3d printer
Changing plugs really is a pita on those. The more stock the worse it is. How many cars require pulling the battery and intake box just to get at them.
Gap the plugs haha subarus are a pain to change plugs. Especially on mine I have to pull the engine mount bolt and jack it up on each side. To give me some room
Awesome stuff Do you ever use knock sensors or knock detection with headphones to hear engine noise and detonation .whats your ways on advacing timing to perfect
Was it the vacuum on the bov?? Sounds like it was opening and closing hence the surges but initially sounded like a vacuum leak once boost was building.. when Jamie said was it the tyres..
I was always curious how do you guys charge for these sessions? Is there a flat rate or when the sessions run long like this do you have to charge an hourly or something?
Watch it Rip!!!! ua-cam.com/video/wNgJHqmKb0U/v-deo.html
How can anyone give you guys a thumbs down?? People Are so strange. Great job guys you rock!!
Its jearmy.
So Rad seeing you tune on a Boxer Motor!

I really Lol'd at "step one pull engine." Reminded me of my B5 S4.
Assume the service position.
I love this thing. The GC8 has always been one of my favs hands down 👌🏾
Brent your attitude is always gold man. The world needs more people like you. Love you're channel dude🤙
Gonna go take this for a rip later today! So stoked Skylar has this thing figured out.

@@Nebbia_affaraccimiei I will have a video up in the next day or two 👍

Yep, put a turbo on that 3,2
Crazy how 80% of tuning is diagnosing and solving problems. Turned out nuts as usual!

I'm happy he's seeing the benefit with the more balanced EGTs and coolant temps.
Oh no, thank you for all the education! With a little luck and some extra time I will hopefully make it out there, and with any luck the DA is better than 7200 for those tugs 👍👍👍
Awesome job guys, chasing problems, hammering, persevering and getting the job done right everytime!
nice work as always!! I feel like Colorado is America's version of Canada all chill and stoned and shovelling snow 9 months a year

Mmm.. Dyno a Subaru... This can go well or Kaboooom!!!! There's no middle ground with these.. You go home with a smile or with tears.
Tears of joy or sadness. Either way you might go crying
they all go pop at some point even the stocks ones lol
used to tune these in my old work, never a truer word spoken, they would either sing, or spin a bearing. (or occasionally crack a ringland) interestingly we never had gearbox issues, but hear so many complaints stateside.
Wish i had Brent's attitude or temperament. Awesome dude looks at the glass half full.
Nah man... The glass is always full. It may only be full of air, but you can't live long without air can ya? It is all a matter of perspective.

That suby is gangster looks staunch with the flares and tyres
Nice work boyz, plx devices for the win. I run those on my projects.

Those mods to stop the unit blowing need to be published as it could save many many owners buying shares in new blocks.

Thx for the info on the coolant ports on the back of the heads. It would be cool to see some compound turbo shenanigans on the bully or sho nuff.
That outro was prime example of those dyno pulls...
close..but not quite right 👌👍
I miss mine, except for the part where the headbolts stretch and it let's boost into the coolant system and bursts pipes 😢
That Subaru motor in the bully would be cool but an LS twin would be nasty !!!
You’re wearing them! Ya! Hope they help out in some small way!
MAN I BEEN WAITING FOR YOUR REMATCH WITH THIS SOOBIE!!!!

Some 22B body work would look great on this GC8.

Words of wisdom from brent " cars will teach you two things , parience and how to cuss" love this guy lol keep up the great work man
"i was too stubborn" sounded like "i was too stoned"

I seen you commenting on that quad turbo car up in Canada. Hope they fly you out. Would make for some cool content
"The music's not too loud, is it?" LOL!!!! Nope. Just right, Brent.

I still think Emilio found the best way to make a Subaru easier to work on and more reliable 😂
Was it the vacuum on the bov?? Sounds like it was opening and closing hence the surges but initially sounded like a vacuum leak once boost was building.. when Jamie said was it the tyres..
Saturday officially begins 👌
Keep them videos up love watching
I love the OG boxer sound.. never gets old to me... I don’t care for the new Subaru’s

So how did the dude add extra cooling to cylinders 3 & 4? External cooling lines?
@Keith Christensen thanks man

Hey Brent. Kyle from Boosted Lifestyle wants to fly you out to Canada Land and tune his 4 turbo civic!! Yesss!!
That was probably a expensive dyno session
You guys should invest in a wood burner!!! I know how cold it can get out there in Colorado!
Had the same problem with mine, the filter was the problem
HAHAHA that Cleetus poster.
LoL We're just gonna Gap these Plugs...... Seriously one of the worst parts of a Subie is changing Spark Plugs or Coil Packs

Haha you said it. Good stuff y'all.
Great job guys now get back to the bully...🤣👍👍👍
Hi, great video, what wheel setup this car have?
Gold plated electronic connectors ,the electron flow gettin jammed up or disrupted I bet🤓
I was always curious how do you guys charge for these sessions? Is there a flat rate or when the sessions run long like this do you have to charge an hourly or something?
Probably uses the content as payment.. The UA-cam does pay...
