    Not worth it! To continue to get warranty you have to maintain the annual plan. Also some of these things were provided when you were an elite member and when they got rid of that program for this just was not worth it. Plus in considering this program you have think of how long Best Buy will stay afloat. This video did not take that into account hence you could be paying for this plan where your nearest store may be closed in the near future. So no don’t think there is enough for $200 a year membership. Maybe if it was $100 would make more sense but at that price you can seek warranty elsewhere. Plus the way tech changes if it breaks after 2 years it could be cheaper to replace it than pay for warranty.

      Also the "VIP" customer service is total BS. The reps are nice and polite, but whoever their "backend support" team is, they are a bunch of mongaloids. Every single issue that I needed that $200 customer service on, the CS rep was great...but then the "backend support team" vetoed with no reason or contact with me to discuss. They just send you a "fuck off" email essentially.

    What Best Buy will do is decline your payment method. You walk-in to the store so that they can re-do the orders. When they do, they will pitch you the Total Tech subscription and you won't even have enough time to review the plan or say no. Classic sales pressure. Then you end up subscribing. You don't really need it unless you're buying washers, TV, phones every month. And you won't because you are a normal human being who wouldn't buy new washers, new TVs, new phones, new gadgets every month.

    So do you need to have total tech to get the 24 month extended warranty? What is the difference between the extended warranty and the "protection plan". If I cancel my total tech am I canceling the extended warranty? I couldn't find an explanation anywhere!

      @slickdeals  Рік тому

      best buy words it as "up to 24 months" so yeah, you have to have totaltech active to have the warranty active. If your totaltech expires the warranty expires. For the second question I'm not as sure though.

      Yes and no, if you cancel TotalTech you will still have protection on everything until it expires. You paid for 1 year of protection so even if cancelled it will be valid for that 1 year assuming you aren’t trying to refund the service. Now for the extended warranty yes, TotalTech covers items for UP to 24 months. If you cancel the service before it lapses, then you will only get 12 months rather than 24. It should also be noted that Best Buy has changed TotalTech to Best Buy Total which is now 179.99. It’s essentially the same thing but no longer includes in home services for free such as installations and other geek squad in home services.

    They’ll charge you service fees to warranty specific things.

      My GCU expired a week after they announced the program was ending - which was at ~10PM at night so the stores were already closed and couldn't renew my service :/

    Worth it if you buy extended warranties and moving to a new house/apartment. People who buys a new phone every 4 years and a computer every 8 years, this is not for you.

      Agreed. I used the service buying my parent's tv and having it installed (don't know if that's against the TOS though) - Austin

      @sakenu16 Рік тому +1

      No it is still not worth it because in order for that warranty to be in effect you have to maintain the annual plan so basically shelling $200 each year.

    • @VileSins

      Total tech doesn’t warranty computers or phones.

      We said it wasn't worth it for most consumers and also wrote #notsponsored so I don't know how that could be viewed as sponsored unless the video wasn't watched? If we weren't clear enough on that sorry and we'll try to do better. - austin

      @@slickdeals no I watched the whole video . I can not see see this at all being worth it. I think you should’ve been more blunt and honest it’s kind of a scam for old people. That’s what I think. Subscription models are a dime a dozen now. Honestly I can not see this worth it unless you have a big family and still might not be worth it.
