I'd love to see Steven actually play the deck the way it's ment to be played. It's crazy the amount of time they mess with each other when they just need to read
Well Steven is an idiot so.... Maybe they could have someone watching over his shoulder and reading all his cards so he plays the cards how they're supposed to be played
I love the Commander VS Team and have been a fan of your content for years, that said it is hard to watch game play where the misplays lead to games that would have been drastically different from what the rules have dictated. Seeing the COWARD triggers and creature replacement text are an example. All love and support to you all and thanks again for your time!
Yeah I'm not a super stickler for rules lawyering-eqsue stuff, but like you said when it would have changed the game, it's difficult to enjoy. I do love watching because the interactions between the guys is incredible and it's just a genuinely good time but.... The gameplay...
Funny rules interaction here, people don't really see how strong Gornog is against tribal decks. Gornog makes creatures into cowards. Cowards, nothing else. Since he doesn't say, "in added to their other types." The creature simply becomes "Creature - Coward". The funny part here is that it shuts off Jeremy's commander, and Corey's commander. Since they are no longer a Gorgon or Saproling they won't get their tribal abilities when they hit. Gornog is also PER player being attacked... Plus his power boost is for EACH coward your OPPONENTS control.
@@mattc1uk No. Not unless some other effect were to apply to them. That said, I'm unsure if Gormog makes a creature that is already a coward and another type (such as Coward Angel or something) into *just* a coward.
Gornod makes creatures Cowards til they leave the field. And its not in addition to their other types. It wont be a Snake Coward, it will just be a Coward. And Gornod pumps equal to total Cowards on board, not just defending player
Another part of Steven's commander they seem to be missing is it's not until EoT. They are cowards forever. There should be a ton more cowards for boosting power.
Gordon's pump is equal to the total number of cowards not the amount the defending player controls Edit: also he can make one creature per player per attack a coward not just one total Edit 2: He got it eventually ❤
Thought of a funny game you could try. Get some decks and cover up all the rules text and power and toughness on the cards. The only thing you can see is the name art and mana cost. Then you can only reveal the rules once its played and the stats if it attacks or blocks. Really test their knowledge of the card pool.
Watched this when it dropped but wanted to add great win Corey! Way to keep from being a threat just long enough to bite and scratch your way to victory 😊
soooooo no one mentioned how all these kindred decks get nerfed by mr.AllYourThingsAreCowards? yknow since its a full replacement not in addition to other types
Interesting that Corey could have gotten a point for saving Stephen with the assassins trophy on any of Jon's creatures and ended up having to use it on the beast commander in response to the fight trigger after combat when Stephen was out.
If I were building a commander deck to play on camera I would simply start by reading the commander at least a couple times to understand what the hell it did. The only line of text Stephen correctly used on his commander was the word “haste”
People in the comments acting like theyve never made mistakes like this. We've all built commander decks before after misreading a commander and be told by someone else at some point. Magic is a hard game. 4 people at the table didnt realize the mistake and thus the game played out this way and thats okay. Commander is casual anyway
I really wish these guys would read their commanders and discuss before the game exactly how they work. Steven should have won the game like 2 turns ago, and I'm not even at the hour mark yet
Came here to comment about everyone playing Stephens commander wrong, found i am late to that party lol im not far enough into the episode yet, but i am willing to be they also misplay Jon's commander as well (it is any creature power 4 or greater, not just his) but we shall see
when gornogs trigger makes things cowards it also makes them not their other creature types. so when aphelia hits or shroofus hits they dont trigger because they arent saporlings or gorgons
So Stephen's deck should have won. 2 things they missed about his commander and it's abilities that make it BUSTED! "Whenever one or more warriors you control attack a player, target creature that player controls becomes a coward." 1.) It DOES NOT say 'till end of turn.' The creatures are now until they leave the battlefield, a coward. So that +X/0 effect is really potent. And 2.) It DOES NOT say 'in addition to it's other types.' So the other three decks that are typal/tribal commanders would lose much of their effect as each creature that becomes a coward loses its other types, beast, saporling, snake/gorgon. They are cowards, and only cowards. So yeah, Stephen if they had paid more attention to what his commander does and how it is worded, would have easily won this match. His deck was far more powerful than they knew.
the problem with that is how easy that is, how often do they play the same commander in a season, i think it happened only 1 time last season and it was because it was fan request
Decklists:

You guys are the best for posting the deck lists and the website they are on is incredible to use!
just got to Stephen's 2nd attack, gonna go out on a limb and guess they never read his commander to see that it's MUCH stronger than they think it is
Gornod should be replayed another week. But using its abilities the right way
+1/+0 for each Coward your opponentssss control. Not just defending player.
He keeps making the same creatures cowards too. It isn't till end of turn.
and for each opponent u attack, u choose a creature that opponent controls to become a coward!
I'd love to see Steven actually play the deck the way it's ment to be played. It's crazy the amount of time they mess with each other when they just need to read
Its been 10 years and reading is still impossible.
Well Steven is an idiot so....
Maybe they could have someone watching over his shoulder and reading all his cards so he plays the cards how they're supposed to be played

The errors hurt this episode.
PS. Gornog. says "becomes a coward." not in addition. Soooo. that wouldve changed the game. especially at 14:10
Yeah Stephen having 19 more life changes alot
@@OGTahoe3 Stephen wouldn't of changed because the creature still will have changeling.
@@OGTahoe3 it affects more than that. Jeremy commander doesnt make saprolings when its only a coward
Also, it's not until end of turn, either 😮
@@ANitschkeProduction thats kinda why my time stamp was important lol it was during Corey's turn when he swung with cowards and not snakes or gorgons

@MythrilShotgun they are JUST a coward. Check the Gatherer rulings, Conspiracy has it for sure.
make the new rule read your cards
Gornod makes creatures Cowards til they leave the field. And its not in addition to their other types. It wont be a Snake Coward, it will just be a Coward. And Gornod pumps equal to total Cowards on board, not just defending player
Stephen and Corey displaying friendship!!! 😍😍😍

They read it 5 times and still didn’t catch it
And they stay cowards for the rest of game. It's not until end of turn.
AND they don't have their original creature types.
They really need a rule that says 'If you read a card wrong more than once you lose a point' as this was fun but painful to watch again 🤣
i lowkey love the humor of the intros thanks SCG crew

It would be funny with tribal decks, like the tribes are unfamiliar with each other. Throw in some staples, sounds like fun
Yeah but that's basically how they play anyway since they constantly misread cards
Watched this when it dropped but wanted to add great win Corey! Way to keep from being a threat just long enough to bite and scratch your way to victory 😊
I love how the table is split between serious and shenanigans in the beginning!
Yeah they played grognord wrong 4 +9 =13 damage .
Also its perplayer, so he could make corey snake into a coward and would of done 16 damage
soooooo no one mentioned how all these kindred decks get nerfed by mr.AllYourThingsAreCowards? yknow since its a full replacement not in addition to other types

Loving the jump-start boosters with foundations, great game 🫶🏼
For a rule, I'd say bump the +1 for saving another to a +2
Been waiting for the Shroofus episode!
Extra point winning while hellbent. It would be awsome to see some mircle top decking or all out playing everything no holding back!!!
Week 2 of asking for....
TITANS
It needs to come back!

Does the turning into coward effect say end of turn? Else i think it would be permanent
+1 point for getting the least cards/rules wrong,
or -1 and -2 points for the most and second most rules wrong.
I really wish these guys would read their commanders and discuss before the game exactly how they work. Steven should have won the game like 2 turns ago, and I'm not even at the hour mark yet
wow, chat feeling rly smart today

While Stephen’s commander should have won him the game a lot earlier, it was pretty great seeing Cory pull it off
"If you're not first, you're last" only 1st place gets points for winning, everyone else gets 1 point.
Adding a rule, for this game only, whenever you hear the word “coward” you have to take a drink 😂
Also, what a lot of player miss, it doesnt say until end of turn, so the creature stays a coward
Wow. Jeremy played like 7 spells total and still came in second.
The rule I would add, is that if someone misplays a card because they read it incorrectly, they lose a point.
when gornogs trigger makes things cowards it also makes them not their other creature types. so when aphelia hits or shroofus hits they dont trigger because they arent saporlings or gorgons
Its amazin how little reading the card to understand the card there is every episode.
Yaaas right wen I have to do chores
Like, comment, share, subscribe, binge, and ring the bell of jumping chaos
Jeremy shouldn't have lost half his life the first time as Aphelia was a coward
Man lol gonna have to redo this whole episode it's nothing but mistakes. Love the fun though.
Stephen probably would have just hosed if they had played Gornog right lol.
So Stephen's deck should have won. 2 things they missed about his commander and it's abilities that make it BUSTED!

I don't quite get how they mistakely get their commanders wrong
Do they play the game before reading their commanders in the intro?
Coris commander was already a coward.
Bring back Justin!!!
Read comments at 9:15, looks like this one is full of error and skippable... shame.
Lots of errors. The joys of new cards and confusing rules text and interactions
Brutal mistakes this game. Still love the content
It doesn't say till end of turn. Cowards stay
I think a sweet rule would be +1 for playing a commander that hasn’t been played yet this season.
the problem with that is how easy that is, how often do they play the same commander in a season, i think it happened only 1 time last season and it was because it was fan request
Stopped watching at Stephen’s 2nd attack step. Maybe it’s a bit much for me to also mention that fact, but hey at least it helps the algorithm.
I would like to see a rule where everyone has to play Nerf war
The only thing worse for this show than having Corey join it would be to have him start making rules for it.
