My dad goes there every year & stays for 2 months. It's his home away from home. He LOVES it there. Wish i could go with him. I was there almost 10 yrs ago with my family, & it's just beautiful! Aloha!
My dad recently moved to Moloka'i, and I love it there so much, wish i could be there more!!! The culture, the history, it's amazing and the people are so friendly, it's so much not like here in NY, it's so much better!!!! :D
love this bruddah! I went to HPA in 1970-71 as a senior on the big Isle, to be on top of the class for a lawyer, or doc, college education! We went down to KONA and surfed Banayans with the locals, when we get on the beach they break out old slack key guitars and throw down the tunes! I WENT NATIVE THAT VERY DAY, THEY WERE SO GOOD AT BOTH, I WENT BACK MAINLAND SIDE BUT WENT NATIVE. I earned a lifeguard card, taught to big wave surf @ HAPUNA by one of the legendary MAUI HAYWOOD BROTHERS, BILL
IT is amazing what Father Damien was willing to give for the lepers of Molokai, including his life, as Jesus did. I noticed that in the Bible, when Jesus encountered the leper, HE touched him to heal him. Makes me wonder if I am willing to touch those that need HIS healing IF A THAT IS WHAT IT TAKES. I have never even RISKED it all, let alone been willing to GIVE it all. THAT is LOVE, WHAT THEY DID, it makes mine look very small by comparison. I don't like to give especially if it is hard.
lovely music. one of my given names are lono i want to come to hawaii and learn more and try to understand why onLY i in the enitre tribe have this name. can you help?
Hina is both a reference to the Goddess Hina, goddess of Moloka'i, and sort of a secret name for Moloka'i itself. Please check out Lono's (Molokai Music) website which has a lot of his music tabbed and with lyrics

Beautiful music to share with my grandson, Lono Harper Francois Watkins.
Terrific music and Matt Yamashita remains a master visual storyteller. Beautiful work.

Where can I find a translation? I'm wondering if Hina is referring to the Goddess Hina? Love this !! Many thanks !! XOxoxox
