    Hello could you please tell me your stat preference with your armour? I'm thinking of going marauder with this because I want sustain but I'm wondering if that drops the dps down too much in your opinion

    • @kattacked1683
      @kattacked1683  3 роки тому +1

      Hi there! I prefer berserker since I'm quite accustomed to a glassy druid, though I will add in vitality infusions for a little bit of padding. If you're more comfortable with marauder, then you should run with that extra vitality from the stats since slightly higher DPS numbers will be no good if you're downed. I'd suggest starting with marauders, then swapping pieces out as you get more comfortable.

    I've been using your build after I unlocked Druid a few days ago. Already had wild success in WvW, much better than my Soulbeast. Still working on trying to remember about Celestial mode. Also I'm really bad at blasting smoke, I keep forgetting about it. Hell, the only stealth I've been consistent with is the one you get with Hunter's Shot. I have a question - why Signet of Renewal? I never see you use it in any of your videos. Is the passive strong? I can't find any info on the passive other than what the description says. It doesn't say how much it heals for. If it's weak it really makes me question if something else should be used because there's a lot of really strong options to slot there.

    • @kattacked1683
      @kattacked1683  4 роки тому +1

      I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the build! I like to use Signet of Renewal (SoR) for 3 reasons: astral force generation, stunbreak, and condi clear. I'll type a more detailed explanation below:
      First, SoR offers a passive tick heal which helps to generate astral force more quickly for the build. Note that Astral Force will generate the same % regardless of if it comes from a 80hp heal or a 800 hp heal, so the strength of this is the reliable heal frequency rather than the heal amount (i get about 80ish hp per tick). This is also why I try not to use SoR for its active benefits unless I have to -- I want to maintain that passive tick as long as possible to continuously generate astral force.
      Second, SoR is also nice for its stunbreak quality. Not too much to say here other than that stunbreaks are key since this build is glass.
      Third is the condi clear. Activating the signet will pull all conditions from you/allies to your pet. The only annoying thing is that since it's based off your pet location, you will need to be close to it to benefit from the clear. I typically either call it back to me or use it right after pet swap so I know it'll be close by. However, this also means you can use your pet to pull conditions off allies if they're all grouped up together on a target.
      Hope that helps provide some clarity around my choice of the signet! Of course, feel free to tweak the build to your personal playstyle and preferences. A different utility may suit you better, and there are definitely a lot of nice ones to pick from! :D

      @@kattacked1683 After almost a week, I have ran into some seriously difficult fights that I've yet been able to win. Wondering if you have some advice:
      1) Condi thief. These guys pop in and out of stealth at whim, dotting me all to hell and back. I can't keep up with cleansing, re-targeting and being able to get much damage on them. I fall over dead really fast.
      2) Flamethrower engineers. They have insane DPS and my roots don't seem to stop them. If they're aggressive I wind up burning through zephyr, lightning reflex, Celestial stealth, long bow stealth and staff teleport while trying to maintain distance. Then they catch up to me and I fall over dead almost instantly.
      Any ideas on how to deal with these?

    • @kattacked1683
      @kattacked1683  4 роки тому

      @@MyGameVideosOnline Hi there! Both builds you mentioned are tough fights, but this is how I'd approach it:
      1.) Condi Thief -- If running P/D, they'll typically be better at kiting than chasing (P/D is equipped with immob and a port away from rather than towards the target). After the shadow strike when they port backwards, try to build even more distance quickly to avoid Repeater. If you can get out of range, you'll force them to burn other utilities (ex. Shadowstep) to catch up. This is when it'd be good to try to lock them down and counter-pressure with the roots, rapid fire, and barrage. If running the Wolf as one of your pets, you can consider using the Howl to fear proactively as a defensive measure or right after rooting the thief to extend the CC on them. The condi thief's opening Steal is often loaded with conditions too, so that's the big one to cleanse (confusion, poison, additional venoms, etc.). When the thief stealths, I'd recommend either stealthing yourself as well (to avoid their pistol stealth attack) or dropping Staff 5 on top of yourself to avoid the high stacks of bleed from pistol stealth attack + poison from the shadow arts trait. If it's a condi deadeye, I'd probably just disengage. Some fights aren't worth staying around for.
      2.) Flamethrower Engineer -- Unfortunately I haven't seen very much of these builds, so it's a bit hard to give advice on. I can imagine a scrapper build with lots of superspeed which would be difficult to kite + flamejet isn't a projectile that can be blocked by Staff 5. Assuming they're glassy themself, it may be one of those situations where it's a matter of fighting fire with fire (pun intended haha) and trying to discourage them with your own burst and/or abusing terrain since you should outrange them significantly with longbow.

    I'm probably not that good bc I like need way more vitality/toughness when in wvw.
    Does the server you(or I)are/am on make a lot of differene you think?
    I see that you're on tier4 while I'm on T2, used to be t1.
    So I hope that does make a difference in skill level, bc otherwise you're even more amazing and I suck even more :')

    • @kattacked1683
      @kattacked1683  3 роки тому +1

      You should take as much vitality/toughness as you need to play comfortably!
      I'm not sure that server/tier makes a significant difference in your personal skill level, though it will definitely change the types of encounters and fights you're exposed to (and potentially the frequency). For example, this week my server is a linked/guest server with HoD in Tier 1, so small 1-on-1 encounters are less frequent than running into large groups. If you typically run with a group, your playstyle will likely be adapted to that context and you may perform better when part of a group than solo.
      In any case, I'd suggest keeping a lookout all around you and keeping something in reserve to disengage when needed :) Dying is a part of the WvW experience though, so if someone downs you, just shake it off and respawn! We all have good and bad days :D

    • @kattacked1683
      @kattacked1683  3 роки тому +3

      Hi there! The blast at 2:01 came from swapping pets with the Clarion Bond trait from the Marksmanship trait line. When swapping pets, it casts lesser call of the wild (CotW) which is a blast finisher (can refer to warhorn 5 skill for original CotW details). :) Another neat trick with this pet swap blast is you can have your smokescale cast the smoke field, then swap pets to blast stealth (need to be in combat for this trait to activate)

      @@cookiebandit101 Agreed. So many kills lost because of this garbage. I rarely make it out of downed state anyway, so for me it wouldn't be missed at all. Conversely, downed state makes it more difficult for me because I can't always kill them off. More often than not an enemy joins in and gets the downed player up and then I have two to deal with, and that almost always results in three or more as they call in their buddies and/or randos jump in. :(
